The location of the aparthotel was excellent and had plenty of bars within easy walking distance. We didn't use any of the other many restaurants close by as we were on a half board basis. The food in the Coconut Restaurant was excellent and all the staff at the Caravel were so friendly. The apartment was cleaned and the towels changed on a daily basis. We had everything we needed and the free air conditioning was a real bonus. All-in-all an excellent service and fantastic value for money!
I'm afraid the matresses on the beds were really hard, meaning that none of the three ladies in our party got a good night's sleep. This is a shame as apart from the beds we really couldn't fault the service we received.
Staff were kindness!
Mosquito is very noisy
Location Staff friendliness excellent Restaurant. Good food Size of room Clean towels every day
Room and hotel is basic standard. No luxury in rooms. Was expecting a bit more based on the reviews. Pool is basic.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is good, surrounded by lots of supermarkets and restaurants. The closest beach is about 150 m away. The place is clean overall (change of towels and linens everyday or almost). Also, the bus stop is really close and you can easily get a Taxi. We had a nice big room with a nice view on the beach. There are kitchen accessories, so you can cook if you want to. It's a very good alternative if you are travelling on a budget, the prices are really competitive. The Coconut is a good restaurant with tasty meals and large portions, good waiters and you get a 10% discount if you are staying in the hotel.
The staff is sometimes too friendly, if you don't like small talk you might feel uncomfortable. They are a little bit absent minded, we had a mix-up and we had to insist and repeat ourselves several times to get it resolved. The area is very noisy at night, close to the main street and restaurants (particularly karaoke night). So we were woken up a couple of times in the middle of the night by drunken people or scooter noises (closing the windows usually solves this problem but then it might be too hot inside, the A/C wasn't working). Breakfast is ok (always the same choices) but they don't clean well the plates and cups (lots of smears) so choose yours well. They don't have a very strong wifi signals in the rooms, but it works for emails, light web-surfing and it's free. The building and the rooms are a little outdated but clean, and finally the price and services compensate for it.
Very good location. Close to the beach, restaurants, bars, shops.
all was perfect
Friendly staff, perfect location to beach shops and restaurants. Lovely quiet pool area. Large rooms and great air con. Very clean hotel.
Lively area. Very spacious, bright, room and bathroom. Great if you are looking for something relatively inexpensive for one or two nights, convenient for the airport, the seaside as well as the city. If it's summer, don't miss a drink at the Villa Di Mare pool cafe and bar by the seaside, just across the street.
Breakfast, 70's aura, problematic lift, bad wifi reception in our room.
great location, service and cleaniless just very dated
how you have to put the key in for the electricity to work.
Hotel restaurant Coconut was the best!!!
For us it was a very good location. Not far from the airport and not too far from the city.5 steps from the sea. Spacey rooms and the pool 2 steps away. not too many people. GREAT filter coffee !!!! Best thing in the morning :-)
not very clean.beds a bit hard.some furniture missing.
This hotel has good restaurant and guest can receive 10% off price of every drinks and food. Staff of hotel and restaurant have good hospitality. The bus which takes to the Rhodes city from near hotel by 10 min is often late, but you can see everything for a day cause small city. Seaside is nearby and the hotel has small private pool. Room is always clean and huge. I strongly recommend you this reasonable hotel.
Nothing. But some don't like the view from room, beach with stones, far from city. If so you should choose more expensive hotel.
Friendly and helpful staff. Next to good restaurants and grocery store. Nice kitchenette in room. Clean.
Room gets quite warm during day when not in room because cooling shuts off. Takes a while to cool down again following return. About 5 kilometers from old town and port.
Staff very friendly and continuously doing their utmost to feel at home. Apartment and beds cleaned and made up every. Coconut restaurant staff were great and the food was better than other restaurants I tried in the area. Beautiful friendly owners who would go all the way to make you feel at home!!! Hope to see you soon........
I wish I had the time to stay longer......
Nice and quiet, great for the price! Cheap and cheerful1
Good location, really kind and friendly owners and staff, nice breakfast, clean & spacy and comfortable rooms, very comfortable bed.
The Wifi is not good in the room, and the pool is small.
We had a big room with 2 balconys, it's close to the beach, nice pool, very friendly receptionists, calm (we weren't there in the main season), the restaurant was very good, eat the vegetarian pizza there :-) Yummy!!
The cleaners were a little bit unfriendly most of the time, the room was not "hygienically clean".
The owners were very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast for €5 was basic but very good for what you pay. The hotel itself is probably best aimed at the budget traveller as there are other bigger and fancier hotels in the area if that is what you are after. However, if your looking for a place to stay that has a reasonable cost and comfortable then this is a good choice. I was staying at the hotel for a wedding that was across the road at the Villa de Mare, so the location was excellent for this. If you are mostly looking to visit the old town then you'll need to get a bus or taxi in. Bus is cheap at €2.20 and a taxi from €9 to about €14 depending on what the driver tries to charge (prices are supposed to be fixed).
As mentioned above I was there for a wedding which was great, but overall I didn't really like the Ixia area... If you only want to lay around a pool or by the beach to then this is for you. Otherwise there isn't much to do... The old town area is really nice and I would stay there or somewhere like Lindos which is much prettier and has more to see and do. If you go to Rhodes make sure that you hire a car to drive around.
Good location and nice room with kitchen Friendly staff Excellent restaurant
