Room so beautiful(Sofia), beds really comfortable, breakfast 5 star. Good wifi connection.Excellent location to explore Crete. Linda the host is amazing, nothing too much trouble and a mine of information. Linda you are Casa dell'Aristea! What a diamond!!! Stayed 8 nights Linda, Cambridge.
Owner and hosts Room ("Sophia" - deluxe double) Building Pool + sun terraces Breakfasts Location Village + nearby tavernas
First, it is a breathtaking hotel! This is the life project of Linda and her husband with there three son's!!! Linda is the owner and the most loving and caring person we've ever known! starting from the kisses in the morning through an amazing breakfast and to the night, every wish was full field more and above we asked! every detail was thought through... each and every room is gat his own decor wiche was collected all over Greece for years... the bad is soo comfortable that we didn't want to get up... The location is just above the beautiful city of Rethmino (10 minutes by car at a beautiful village). It is very easy to get to the main roud , crosses Crete from East to West right in between the two large cities of Heraklion and Chania... we'll recommend this place to all of our love ones...:-)
That we had to leave...:-(
Linda, wonderful host who makes a truly wonderful breakfast and whose recommendations you should trust! She has been amazing throughout our stay and we will definitely go back and see her!
The first thing we liked, was the smile and wellcome face of linda the owner and the dreemer of this place. Evrything was just great, the room, the atmosphere, the customer Service, the ins and outs........... evrything, as my wife told Linda, for few days i felt like a queen. we dont need to waist your time, just go there. Taly and Rani
The fact that the vacation was ended
Very polite staff , room was clean an bathroom also. Breakfast near the pool was excellent , Linda we are coming again for sure!!!
We hadn't more days to stay
Sad day....the last one!!!!
Breakfast ends at 10:30...but we didn't care!
The room was fantastic, the bed so comfy, great amenities too in the room(if you want a cool drink by the pool then all you have to do is go to the fridge in your room and get one).Location great,so peaceful.Pool fantastic, breakfast great, the hotel is stunning and to top it all is Linda the host,Linda we salute you.
Linda was a perfect host Fabulous outdoor breakfast
The host..Linda is a delight..helpful..superb accommodation
-Wonderful welcome, Linda and her husband are very kind and helpful and made us feel at home. -Charming and very well restored villa, with a nice pool and beautiful views of Rhetymnon. -Cosy and charming rooms with comfortable beds - Great place for those who have a car and who like to leave the crowds of Rethymnon behind (10 minute drive).
- Would be handy to be able to pay by credit card. Even though there is an ATM very close by, cards have withdrawal limits which are easily reached when traveling.(but cash only payments seem to be common in Crete) - A bar service would be nice in order to enjoy a nice cold drink by the pool!
Linda could not do more to make you welcome , relaxed and comfortable in this beautiful building. It is so peaceful, you will definitely unwind here. The rooms are beautiful filled with unusual antiques, the beds extremely comfortable. The small touch of a welcome bottle of wine and fruit basket was well received. The breakfast is vast, and for us late risers served until Late morning. Thus is an excellent base to explore this area of Crete. In the village you must have a meal with minolis, but go there hungry- Linda will give you directions - excellent Greek food. We spent a wonderful 2 weeks here and will return.
Don't be put off by the approach to the front door, it's a hidden gem. You wil need a car, but taxis into Rethymnon are very reasonable.
We stayed at Casa dell'Aristea for four nights at it could not have been better! Fabulous setting in a beautiful old building with a view over Rethymno, cosy clean and quiet room, very comfortable bed, delicious freshly made breakfast and the most loveable host we ever stayed with! Thanks again Linda!
Helpfulness and friendliness of the owner Linda, enhancing our stay with a personal feel. The Casa is lovely, and offers a pool in warmer months Very comfortable beds Breakfast is offered outside near the pool in warmer months and it was lovely to meet the other guests.
We had an accommodation on two levels, with the bed on the second level, with no restroom on that level. The restroom is adjoining a small sitting area on lower level. We knew about this room setup in advance, so from now on, we would book our accommodation with the bathroom on the same level as the bed, for convenience.
Lovely Casa, very comfortable and Linda was such a lovely host. Made to feel so welcome. It's a little out of town, but you can taxi or if you have a rental car it's not a problem. Lovely and quiet, so no sleepless nights. Breakfast in the courtyard so lovely each morning, and more than you could eat. We loved it :)
Everything from the moment we arrived. The warm welcome we received was second to none. Linda, the proprietor could not do enough for us and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It was so relaxing and the Casa is beautiful.
There was absolutely nothing we did not like apart from checking out for our return home.
Linda was terrific! Beds were very comfortable. Spacious room and excellent breakfast.
Privacy, very peaceful and relaxing. A charming place for a lovely holiday.
Lynda our host was superb. She has struck the right balance between you feeling at home and the relaxed feel of a resort. Beautifully restored Venetian villa reflects the attention to detail that makes for a perfect experience.
The fact that we had to leave!
everything.the stay was perfect in every way.very hospitable.
The hostess was very nice and so was her house.
Linda is such a caring considerate host it's more like staying with a family. The house is beautiful and very quiet and peaceful.
The village is a five minute drive from the town and very quiet so you do need to have a car, but the fact it's quiet is also a reason to stay here.
Casa dell Aristea is a newly renovated and refurbished old (15th century?) manor located on the outskirts of Rethymno, in the suburb of Atsipopoulo. As some other reviewer claimed, this hotel is "a hidden gem". It becomes less hidden though if you watch for the main supermarket in Atsipopoulo and on the corner just 10 meters further on your right, you will find a sign directing you to it. Its seven rooms of different sizes (standard, superior, maisonette, suite), have been recently furnished and redecorated with new, but antique style, beautiful furniture. Linda the landlady is a warm person whose English is perfect, and with whom I gladly communicated via e-mail even before our arrival because of certain problems that arose with regard to our stay; and she was very accommodating in every respect. As to our week's stay at this little hotel, it was an absolute pleasure. The only minor drawback I can think of was that, while the breakfast was delicious and plenty, it repeated itself every day.
We loved our stay. The house was amazingly beautiful--exceeding all expectations, filled with interesting antiques, each with a story. We were greeted warmly by Linda and upgraded our original room to the maisonette with jacuzzi which was wow, even more amazing. We loved the welcome fruit and wine, taking a dip in the pool, strolling around the adorable town, and our leisurely and delicious breakfast with 2 other guests and Linda. We would highly recommend this place to others!
Nothing. Our stay was a highlight from our vacation for sure. We absolutely loved it.
