We spent 3 nights in the hotel and were completely amazed with our stay. The location of the place is perfect, overlooking the see and the Mykonos town. The property is huge and since there are only 2 rooms, the privacy for a romantic tranquil stay is guaranteed. And of course this is the best place to watch the sunset! All the restaurants and Mykonos nightlife are only 10 minutes walk away from the castle. Anastasis, the hotel manager, was highly helpful and nice. Every morning we had breakfast in the garden terrace with delicious local food specialities. There is even a separate terrace to practice yoga group classes in the evening, and having this breathtaking view, makes it unique. It was absolutely right choice to stay at Mykonos and we look forward to coming back!

Throughout our 10-day getaway to Greece, we visited Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and Crete. Our experience staying at Castle Paginarakis was by far the best. The property is absolutely exquisite and worth the price and the walk. I must also say, however, that the best part of staying at this property was receiving the kind of first class service that money can't buy. Anastasis, the hotel manager, collected us from the port free of charge (he even declined any attempts at gratuity). Upon arrival at the property, Anastasis showed us to our suite and explained all the ground rules. He then gave us his mobile and email address, expressly saying that we could call him at any time if we needed anything at all. Every morning, Anastasis and his staff served us a delicious breakfast of local fare in a dining area which had a million dollar view of the bay and Mykonos town. (This is included as part of the room rate). They served us fresh fruits, haloumi, omelettes, freshly squeezed OJ, and greek yoghurt every morning of our stay. One morning, I had made small talk with Anastasis during breakfast about how we didn't get very good service at a sunbed and umbrella bar at Panaroamos beach (a beach on the north shore of the island). After breakfast, Anastasis actually drove out to meet us at the beach and spoke to the bar owner to tell him that we were his guests and that they should improve their service to us. This, in my opinion, is simply the kind of personal touch that can't be found elsewhere. I would undoubtedly recommend this hotel to any friend or family member that visits Mykonos.

Like the other reviews, our experience was outstanding. From the moment we stepped off the ferry, we were greeted by the owner, Anastasis, who personally brought us back to the hotel. Once we arrived at the castle, we knew we had made an excellent accommodation choice. The view is unparalleled (we travelled the island and can say this), the accommodation is charming, comfortable and clean and the service is among some of the best we've ever received. The location itself is perfect - it feels rustic and private but only a 10-minute walk into town to enjoy shopping, restaurants and nightlife. With only 2 guest rooms, you feel like you have the place to yourself. Both rooms have private patios to enjoy the view and sunshine. In the morning, Anastasis served us one of the most delicious breakfasts we've had at any hotel. I would not hesitate to recommend castle Panigirakis to anyone!

If you have limited mobility, you must rent a car to get to and from town (or take a taxi). The walk to and from was very steep. Not a con for everybody but something to watch out for.

We book Castle Panigirakis during our honeymoon trip to Greece in May 2014. Anastasis--the owner--picked us up at the port. When we first saw the property, we were very surprised as it is the real "castle" and "windmill". The view is insanely beautiful, much better than any other scenic points in Mykonos. The best thing is that this castle is a private property, housing only 2 spacious units--the "Windmill" and the "Guesthouse". We were the only couple watching the beautiful sunset on the first day of our stay, which was great. The location is convenient--only 7-10 minutes walk from the city of Mykonos, where you can take a good walk and enjoy many beautiful shops, both local and brand-name ones. Anastasis was very kind and helpful. He provided us the great Greek breakfast made from organic ingredients, which was very delicious. The room was comfy and you got a private nice view of Mykonos looking from your window. We are planning to rebook this property again next year so I would say book this property and you will never go wrong with it! Stayed May 2014, traveled as a couple

The only downside I can think of is that the internet connection was quite unstable, but that was a minor issue for us.

The must place to stay in Mykonos. The view is extraordinary, overlooking the city and the port. One of the best (if not the best) sunset view. We stay in the windmill suite and it was agreat experience ! The manager, Anastasis, is "hors-norme". He tries his best to take care of his guests. He picked us up at the airport and drop us off, as well as marvelously facilitating our stay with a great personal touch. Highly recommended (although we want to keep it secret fro ourselves) !

    - some steps for young children but Anastasis had made necessary helpful arrangements - would be perfect with a swimming pool !

This place is just outstanding. The view of the city is probably the best on the island. It is a quiet place, however a 10 minute walk in you are in town. The owner of the property is a very special person. He takes care of you as if you were his family member. He is gracious and picked us up at the harbor and also took us back. He is very attentive to your needs without invading your privacy. A very very special kind person. I highly recommend this place and if you are looking for a romantic place or just a serene place to relax this is the hotel. I really don't want to write this as then I would give away a place I would not be able to book again.

    Leaving and saying good bye.

By far the best place to stay on the island if you want complete privacy, top notch amenities (especially the mattress!) and without a doubt, what has to be the best view Mykonos has to offer. I've vacationed on the island every summer for the last 7 years and can honestly say there's no other place like this on the entire island! The view is insane- I practiced yoga every day in front of what looked like a painting, it was so beautiful! Anastasis was an amazing host- very gracious, but respectful of my privacy. He both picked and dropped me off at the airport, which made both transitions fairly seamless. All in all, I've found my spot- I won't be staying anywhere else when I return!

The walk home from town is about ten minutes

The Windmill suite is absolutely fantastic! My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights and it was truly magical. Not only were the views breath-taking but we felt like we had our own private piece of paradise. For people that have never been to Mykonos, the windmill is perched on the hill overlooking the town. The outdoor patio is great for lounging and its nice to be out of the bustle of Mykonos - while still being walking distance away. More than anything, sleeping three floors up, under a thatched roof, watching the sea.the sunset and the town - can't be beat. I would highly recommend the Windmill to anyone looking to stay someplace special! Anastasis is a great manager He arranged for pick up/drop off and was very gracious.

the wi-fi signal was 4/5 in some outdoor areas

AMAZING place to stay. The rooms are incredible, you will only ever be in contact with one other guest(s), as there are only two rooms: the smaller room downstairs and the upper windmill room. Anastasis is a gracious host, he helped us find a great deal on a scooter and picked us up and dropped us off at the port. Breakfast was more than we could eat each morning. I cannot stress how amazing these accomodations are, if we ever make it back to Mykonos, this is the only place we will consider staying!

The owner, Anastasis, is a real nice guy who started helping me after booking. Provide free pick up from the port and free transport to airport as well. The castle is excellent, located at 10mins walking from city centre. Away from the hustle you can enjoy a full quietness and privacy - real PRIVACY as there is only ONE guesthouse and you can enjoy the whole castle alone. Many excellent photo points and I really enjoy taking my wedding pics there. The room itself is much better than I expect - clean, neat and new. Lots of fine decoration. Wi-fi is OK with the Wi-fi repeater. I must say this hotel definitely worths the price. A must stay in Mykonos if you don't want the hustle of the city. Highly recommended for honeymoon! Remarks: may not need to rent a car if you enjoy walking, and indeed you can simply kill a couple of days by relaxing in the castle.
