Near to tourist destinations Easy to reach from the airport by train Very friendly staff Comfortable mattress and clean bed linen
Bathroom facility is just adequate
No view other than a big blank wall. No balcony. The staff was unfriendly.
the location was a like 300m from monastiraki square, the wi-fi actually worked, hotel ambience, cleanliness and facilities, value for money
Breakfast was well, in comparison, well below par, not impressed
good location, good room dimensions, clean . Good enough for weekend .
no refrigerator in room , no hair dryer, small bathroom but clean
Great location and comfortable. Staff obliging and helpful.
friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Clean room in a old style hotel...charming! Efficient AC good value, comfortable and close to LOTS of restaurants, and subway station. Safe neighborhood.
Weak Wifi. Signal was only available in breakfast room. It was difficult to do any face time at night as well, due to poor lighting in that breakfast room :(
The greeting on arrival was very welcoming. The breakfast was really terrific and the room pleasant and spotless. We would definitely return as the location to the metro is perfect and close to heaps of shops and restaurants.
Tiny bathroom but totally adequate and clean.
excellent location near shops and tavernes very close to akropolis and underground all within short distance
Cecil Hotel is situated close to Metro station, Acropolis, shopping district. A small hotel with few amenities but we just used it for sleeping. Breakfasts are included and are decent.
Cecil hotel has really lovely staff. All very helpful. The hotel is central. The rooms are small but cosy and clean.
The decor is terrific - old features are great. I liked the position also.
Shower space is quie small!
Good location. Friendly staff. Great breakfasts.
location, clean for a budget hotel, the view from room 306
Good hotel for one night stay prior to early metro from Monstiraki to port for 7.30 ferry departure.
Not the greatest area for a longer stay, we spent our 3 night block in Plaka.
Location seemed sketch but with some guidance from hotel staff, and awesome square was a couple minutes away with tons of cafés and bars. Very safe and again authentic Athens life. Very close to major train stop and rooms are clean. Great for price.
Showers across Greece have similar issues where there is nary a lip to stop spillage into bathroom floor. That's all. Great hotel.
When I first arrived, it was late (11pm) and in the dark I was a bit dubious (also my first hotel in Europe so was comparing it to Westernized ones!). However, I really fell in love with this hotel over the next four days I stayed. When I had too much ouzo one night (hazard of the country..), the long-haired man at the front desk gave me pills and repeatedly asked after my well-being. The room wasnt massive but was exactly what I needed. The air-conditioner was stronger than I expected and kept the room bearable and a nice, cool safe haven from the humidity of Athens! All in all, I really enjoyed my stay in this quaint Grecian hotel with lovely men at reception and I can't wait for my next visit. PS I was travelling as a 25 year old single girl and never felt nothing but safe!
One time I saw a cockroach.
Same street as Attalos hotel No rooftop bar here Staff not so helpful as Attalos
Location near metro and archeogical sites. Little price comparing to otjer hotels but we expect more frol the hotel.0
No fridge un room, poor/bad quality breakfast. bad smell in the room in general and the bathroom in particular.
only a few hundred meters to the metro station.
the room smells of smoke than even stick to our dresses.
Great location Free breakfast Helpful staff
Wifi does not work properly or sometimes work at all Showers are really small
people were very helpful. room small but enough for this size hotel. very central in the sense that it is just a few hundred meters from the Monastraki square which is a hub for shopping and ruines. from our room window we could see the Parthenon! ... and the vintage Otis elevator they have is splendid.
the building is beautiful, very old ( 100 years), as the elevator...like those in old movie ! the room assigned was very big and comfortable. Breakfast very good and the kitchen staff very friendly .
Damage for the carpet in the commune spaces ... maybe I can suggest to the owner of the building to renovate them with wood floor and maybe also to make new also the bathroom, looking to the style of the same period of the building !
Comfortable bed, quiet and clean room, pleasant staff, central location.
