Tina and Eirini made our stay one of the best trips we've had. Could not recommend highly enough. Rooms were clean and layed out lovely.
Tina, the host was the most helpful person I've met in Greece. She was very responsive to my requests and gave me valuable suggestions when I was planning my trip. She was also very kind to gave me a room upgrade when I was there. The hotel is conveniently located in Kamari and near to the airport, which is a plus point for me. The room is also spotless. I will definitely return to Chez Sophie!
Great location, immaculately clean, extremely friendly and helpful owner/staff. Treated more like a friend than a guest.
Great people, great location.
Small room, small bathroom, no kettle, dated furnishings, bad wifi connection.
Extremely helpful staff, great location near good beach and bus to Ancient Thira. Very good breakfast and good atmosphere. The hotel and grounds are very well cared for.
A lovely little hotel, that I will be happy to return to, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, whether it was booking cars, how to get somewhere, or recommending restaurants, they always got it spot on
Really welcomed and helpful owner, I am so grateful to her!! The location is also amazing, you can reach the beach for only minutes walk!!
The generosity and friendliness of hosts, Tina and George was marvellous. Everything clean and well looked after. Breakfast was excellent. Great position, at the end of the Kamari estate, away from crowds, but an easy walk to town.
Nothing. Just make sure you have good directions to find it, it is at the southern point of Kamari not far from the public car park. We drove around quite a bit before we found someone to ring for us with directions.
The owner and hostess Tina Damigo has set the standard for excellence extremely high. From the welcome email to my booking on Booking.com (what a surprise!) to the incredible hosting and "family like" check-out....it was amazing. An experience you will struggle to find in a 5 star plus resort!
I stayed here with my mother on a trip. Our room was very big and clean. The location is fantastic, just 2 streets back from the beach. It was quieter than the main street on the beach so it was very nice. The hotel pool area is great. The host and staff were excellent and very accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was very delicious. If I ever make it back to Kamari, I would definitely stay here again. Also would recommend to family and friends.
The only con is the wifi signal can be very low in the room, but I would just enjoy the nice weather on the small balcony to get a stronger signal and it was great.
Overall a perfect stay at Chez Sophie. We have a little boy who is still sleeping in the afternoon. For us was it perfect to stay in the sunlight at the pool when he was sleeping. The babyphone was still working. The owners gave us a free ride to the airport and they're so kind to us and our little boy. I can recommend everyone to stay here. It is perfect! Thank you very much!
Clean property and excellent inn keepers.
The room smelled terribly of sulfur when the ac was turned on. We would have opened the windows but there was a barking dog on a nearby property.
I stayed at Chez Sophie for 2 nights while in Santorini. Tina was very welcoming and I was offered a complimentary drink when I arrived. The room was a very nicely furnished and a good size (I had booked a suite) and there was complimentary sweets fruit and bottle of wine in the room which was a nice gesture. The pool area was clean and relaxing but didn't get to spend much time there as I was only in Santorini for 2 days and was out exploring so would if liked to have stayed longer as the hotel was a very relaxing area. Kamari is a nice area, more quieter (which I liked) than the bigger towns of Fira and Oia but not far from them (20mins drive to Fira) and the hotel is a few hundred metres away from the beach / restaurants and shops. Breakfast was delicious and I especially enjoyed the carrot jam. Wifi connection was a bit hit and miss, seemed okay around the main reception and pool area but not so great in the room. Would definitely stay again if I was to come back to Santorini
This review comes from a very seasoned European traveler. Never, and I mean never have I had such an amazing hotel stay in my 30 years of traveling abroad. The property is new, built in 2008 and is immaculate to say the least. The property is constantly being cleaned all day and the pool is spectacular! The morning breakfast is great and always served with Tina's warm smile. Tina, George and their daughter Irina are the true definition of hospitable. Upon arrival, George sat us down (as he does with every guest) and hand draws a map of the island and all it has to offer. Every night they made dinner reservations for us at truly the best places to eat on Santorini. And by the best, I don't mean cost-wise, I mean both popular and/or little known places with unbelievable food, service and views. These owners (who live on the property) truly know their island. Now, I must focus on Tina, the "brains" of the outfit (sorry George)! She is the real deal. Warm, caring, fun, charming and kind. You will NEVER experience this kind of personal service anywhere else in the world because I think Tina wrote the book on hospitality. On our last day, Tina said to me that her daughter Irina wants to put a sign over the door that says "...you arrived as guests but left as friends...". Nothing is more true of Chez Sophia. I have one traveling rule, I never visit the same place twice, as there is so much to see in the world. I know I will be breaking this rule and will definitely return to Tina, George and Irina at Chez Sophia!
The one thing I can say that I did not like was that I had to leave!!!
There was nothing i didn't like
The staff and the Hotel itself looks like a big family. The kindness of the Owners is "incredible". They make all it is possible to make you comfortable.
Wi Fi power of signal in the room was very poor..and the room was a bit small (even in the quite good standard). Everithing was there..just a bit more of space would be perfect.
Very nice owners - offered us a welcome drink when we arrived. They were very helpful arranging for a taxi to the airport as well.
The wifi didn't work in our room.
The owners are lovely just like family. Ready to help for anything and evrything.
nothing as such
We have just arrived back from our stay at Chez Sophie. Everything about our stay here was wonderful. Our room was perfect, clean and comfortable. We were lucky enough to have a private balcony so enjoyed our evenings sitting relaxing with a glass off wine admiring the sea view. Tina and George, along with there eldest daughter Irini, couldn't have been more welcoming. All three went out of there way to make us feel at home and to give great tips on things to do and great local restaurants. One of the highlights for me was Tina's Orange Pie! Not my normal choice for breakfast but delicious all the same! Transfer from the airport was arranged for us and George very kindly drove us back when we left even though we had a late flight. Everyone should experience at least one holiday at Chez Sophie! We were sad to leave as it felt like home from home. Thanks Tina, George and Irini for a holiday to remember!
Breakfast was good and hosts pleasant and helpfull. Room was clean and well equipped with modern bathroom. We had our own patio and there was also nice pool area where you were able to order some drinks and snacks or just relax in the sun. Wifi worked well especially outside our room.
Very friendly, helpful owners Beautiful clean swimming pool Excellent wifi connection Drinks very reasonably priced Complimentary drinks on arrival & also orange cake with ice cream one afternoon Help with hire cars, airport transfers and restaurant recommendations/ booking a table
Nothing, it really was as good as the reviews say ( the only thing some people may prefer a hotel directly on the sea front for views but otherwise really couldn't fault Chez Sophie)
We loved everything about Chez Sophie the pool are was lovely with lounges and umbrellas, the location is good tucked in behind main promenade which could be noisy. The hosts told us valuable info re Santorini. The only negative us the upstairs room we had was quite small for luggage but wardrobes huge if you unpack which we didn't . We had lovely balcony to with small clothes line.
Small floor space for cases
The owners are very accommodating and helpful. The cleaning staff never stopped working, hence the hotel was very very clean inside and out! Breakfast was traditional, had a casual yet professional and pleasing feel to the whole place.
Just a couple things. My wife and I had a full bed but is was 2 singles slid together. I slid down between them (this is maybe just the European way to accommodate) We have had this situation before and what some have done is provide a topper pad an inch or two thick to cover both singles thereby making it more like a full size bed. Also what I think would really add to the attractiveness of the place would be to have a maintenance person clean up the area as you approach the hotel on the street, there at the swinging gate i.e. clean up the weeds and trash and just make the street approach more attractive, but that is just my view. It is a GREAT place to stay, ENJOY!
The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel is located close to the beach. Breakfast was nice. Great views of the mountain from the hotel.
Wifi was not working half of the time. The shower was very small.
The location, staff and facilities were of a much more expensive boutique style hotel. Everything down to the last detail is perfect. Even when our transfer back to the airport was delayed, the owner took us all in his car and refused the 20 Euro transfer fee normally paid.
There is nothing to dislike!
