The owner, Theodore, and his son, George, went out of their way to make us comfortable. The location is very quiet and the views are outstanding! A lovely, small beach is within 3 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was clean and the little beds were comfortable. The price for food and accommodations was fair.
The bathtub in our room was very, very small and made it difficult to shower without bumping into things. The taxi driver, who claimed to know all the hotels, had never heard of Demmys and had to call the hotel to find out where it was.
location and the fresh fish for dinner
needs a bit of a refresh here and there
The hotel is dated and for sure it needs a renovation but the lovely owner and the fantastic location just steps from the wonderful sea make the trip works. Very well connected with archaeological sites and fabulous beaches.
The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the waters edge, which is great for swimming and snorkelling. We really enjoyed our stay in this family run hotel, the evening meal was delicious and it's a great escape from the crowds of Athens.
The hotel is dated and is in need of a makeover! The wifi is in public areas but I wasn't able to get any wifi in our room.
Being French, I write my comments in English to avoid translation /understanding issues First of all, if you wish a standard "Resort style "accomodation, this hotel is NOT for you. Demmy's place is remote on a cliff , surrounded by the sea. This hotel is a pearl , out of the time Demmy, the owner, who travelled all the world (he is Italian and lived in USA at a time) is an Adventure book in his mind ! he maintains the hotel in its original appearance, being more or less alone in his job Of course , the accomodation standard are now dated .Nevertheless, the rooms are clean, with direct access to the sea via a balcony (the view is fantastic). In case of Mosquitos attack (common in this area ), the airco as well as available mosquitos repellents are here to make your sleep comfortable. The Breakfast is Great: in fact, you can get almost anything you want from Demmy !! His help and assistance are great when you are lost travellers.I wish I can drive his old 70s DATSUN ! Definitely a "Non common" place with a BraveHeart managing it! You love it or you just avoid it,We loved it.thanks again Demmy !!
Nothing, knowing that this is an old charming hotel managed by a charming owner ! Although indicated with signs on the road, not easy to find : you have to merit the effort !!
wonderful beach front hotel.Very freindly staff.Clean rooms. All rooms over look the sea.Very close to airport and the hotel booked me a taxi which cost just over €30.
Amazing location on the edge of a promontory; every room has a balcony over the ocean. The staff is very friendly, especially the old man who runs the place.
It's an old building and hasn't been renovated in a very long time. Then again, with this location, it would be in a very different price range if it was renovated!
A terrific place on Cape Sounion (Temple of Poseidon) enroute to the airport. Owner is warmly welcoming and offers delicious Greek cooking. Hotel is clean and bright with everything necessary -- our balcony faced the sea. Decor is a little dated but that is -- as noted -- part of the place's charm. This is NOT a coldly indifferent American chain hotel, it IS a family-owned "real Greek" place just 24 minutes to the airport, priced wonderfully for one last 'snapshot' of the real Greece.
Good location, quiet
Old facilities, worn out
This is a fabulous place in a remote location near Athens! We came here on our way to the port. The owners were extremely friendly and really tried to make us feel welcome. It is a bit outdated but this somewhat gives it its charm! We had an amazing lunch here which we picked from the 4 dishes that were prepared by the owner! Very fresh and delicious (also catering for the vegetarians amongst us)!
