Cheap but comfortable place to stay. Fantastic view from the rooftop terrace where we enjoyed our own home cooked meals which we could prepare in the common kitchen. Staff were willing to help and the place was welling taken care of, clean and secure. Highly recommended for young people who don't mind the walk up the hill. Quite close to metro stations and cheap places to eat.

If you don't like walking up big hills or you will be coming and going from the hotel often, then this place may not be for you. However, the view is totally worth it!

It answered what I was looking for perfectly. No exaggeration, simple but cosy. In a very alive neighbourhood. The almost 20 minuete walk from the center gives one the opportunity to have first hand experience in a non-touristic part of Athens all the way up to the beautiful and green Strefi Hill.

The Hotel had a friendly atmosphere, the staff were friendly courteous and professorial, but with a family touch. Overall the experience was very pleasant.

Dryades is the sister hotel and right next door to the Orion Hotel. If you are getting a cab, it's worth saying Orion Hotel as it is better known. You check in at the Orion and then the receptionist takes you to the Dryades. We had a lovely friendly welcome and the receptionist took us to our room and gave us a general overview of the area and also a map with useful information about bus stops and metro stops. Our room was number 23 and it was a large room with a small but clean bathroom. There was a small half size bath tub and shower over which was very welcoming at the end of the day. There was always hot water no matter what time and plenty of fresh clean towels. Our room was changed and cleaned regularly during the week. There was a flat screen tv and a kettle and a fridge. The fridge is great for keeping milk and juice and any items you might want to make for breakfast or lunch. There was also a remote control air conditioning unit which worked very well and was quiet. There was a table and chairs in the room and also on the balcony. We had a balcony which gave a fabulous view of the city and the Acropolis. The hotel was very peaceful and night and the beds were firm and comfortable. We hired bicycles for the week and the staff suggested we brought them in at night to be extra secure and they let us know where to put them to lock up. This was great, very helpful and put our minds at ease. There is a kitchen for guests to use which is ideal if you feel like relaxing in the evening on the balcony with your dinner. However, locally there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways and you absolutely have to try the giros! (kebab) for only 2 Euros it's a very cheap and filling meal. Just around the corner there is a bakery, a chemist and a supermarket and at the bottom of the steps is a convenient stall selling drinks and snacks late into the night. The hotel is on quite a steep hill, so be prepared for a hike.

Friendly staff, quiet area, great view from the roof.

If you don't like the exercise involved in a climb of 50 or so steps every time you want to get to the hotel and yet don't like having to rely on taxis then it may not be ideal.

We arrived late however the owner waited for us and helped us even carry our sraff inside. since we asked to be all on the same floor he moved us to the next building and gave us 3 rooms instead of 2 at the same price just so we'll feel comfortable. The rooms were clean and fits our need with a nuce balcony to the street. Overall we had a pleasent stay at the hotel and we enjoyed it

The location is a little bit far off from the city and to get to the Metro you need to walk for 15 min down and uphill. nevertheless it doesn't take a lot of time to get to the center of Atuna and it was nice to take a look also on the "regular" side of the city

I have nothing but good recommandations for this hotel. It went up and above my expectations. It was very clean. The breakfast was fantastik! I stayed for 4days and everyday I skipped lunch because I was not hungry. I always felt very safe.

The hotel is nice, located on the hill,and can view the city.but need to walk for a while to the rail way.m

Nice clean rooms with a good view of the Acropolis, if you pay the extra. We chose this hotel based on it being a good price in a not-too-dodgy area. Walking from the Metro to the hotel you do pass a lot of empty shops and old, torn posters, but at no point did we feel unsafe. There are lots of bars about the place, and people drinking on the streets, it reminded me of a run down Barcelona. Great views from the breakfast terrace. Good hotel for a quick stop over.

Only thing might be that the breakfast area was in the hotel next door, can't say that was a huge problem.

The shower was really nice. The room was large and comfortable. This hotel is off the tourist path, so we felt like we were able to see some of the "real" Athens.

Everything is just great! It's in a quiet and safe area in Athens.

15 minute's walk from metro, and you need to go uphill

Very clean and comfortable. The price is really interting compared to the good quality of the hotel. The location is ideal, quiet but near to the underground station. There are also several nice restaurants close to the hotel and a Beautiful pub on the top of the hill. The staff is very kind and supportino. We and our children have been really satisfied.

Location; a liittle far away

Dryades Hotel is quite a walk away from the city centre and the sights, but is very quiet. It is in a dead-end with a hill behind it. For peaceful sleeping and tranquility absolute heaven! In Athens this is a rare find! You have to be fit and love walking if you want to stay there. It is family-run and a keen interest is taken in the well-being of the quests. The rooms have fridges and kettles which means that one's budget can stretch further. The common kitchen can also be used if desired.

It is a bit far from everything, but the walk to the centre got shorter each day!

My wife and I stayed 2 times , first for 2 nights, travelled away to a Greek Island and then returned to Athens for a further one night at Dryades Hotel. It is situated very well, high on a hill overlooking the City with beautiful views to the Acropolis. A slow walk to Syntagma Square takes about 30 minutes. There are a number of fine restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Rooms are clean. The staff are very helpful and always available. A taxi ride to Syntagma costs 5 Euros if you demand the meter be used. From there the Metro to Airport is 8 Euros.....very convenient. For a budget hotel it is just what we wanted.
