The hotel is correct. Not noisy at all. The receptionist Ian is great. He help us with every detail of our stay. The hotel is not in the best area of Athens, but is not unsafe. It is walking distance of all the main attractions. Is not a very modern hotel but is ok for tha value for money. It would be nice if in the breakfast they would put some fresh fruit. But that was a common thing in all the Greek hotels.. they all put can fruits in the table.

Very helpful staff, immediately after checking in they gave us tips for places to see and how to get there. One minuspoint is the fact that the room had two single beds instead of a double bed but that seems common among hotels. Another minuspoint was the surrounding neighbourhood. If you stay on the main streets your ok but the side streets looked quite dodgy.

The staff is really nice and polite. They give you a map and lots of information about what to see, when to see it and how much it costs. The room is good, quiet, clean and with private balcony. The wifi is cheap, 3 € a day or 2€ for 12 hours. There are many drug addicts in the neighbourhood, but if you go to the hotel from Monasteraki instead of Omonia you might not even see them.

The staff was very helpfull. They immediatly picked a map to inform us about the sightseings. The breakfast was really good for that price. The location is very unsafe. The street is full of strange people staring at you. During the night when we parked our car, the scene became more terrible. There were dancing prostitutes all around. And there were lots of drug users.

Centrally situated, near to Plaka and Monastiraki square. I thought the hotel, for the money, was excellent. We loved the rooftop bar with the amazing view of the Acropolis and Lycabettus at night, breakfast was good as well. The road to the hotel is quite scary at night and the bathroom is very small

Close to the Old Town of Athens, friendly staff. Unfortunately we were robbed by 3 people after 9pm just on the next street, which is a main street. So be careful not to wear jewelery and if you would use the metro where we were robbed again by gypsies make sure to keep your money safe.

Clean & comfort, Receptionists are very helpful & friendly, update strike info daily & paste the notice on the lift, found a private car for us to the airport due to the strike (28/92011), cost eur55/= but no choice Feel unsafe to walk back to the hotel from metro at night, rushing back b4 9pm. Nearest metro shall be Omonia station took only 5mins, 1st day we walked with trolley luggage from Monastiraki station (as per hotel website info) & took at least 15mins, locate right behind Fresh Hotel

Everything was fine - the staff very friendly, helpful. The location of the hotel very good - everything You may want to see in this city just ten minutes away. Probably the sex shops around the hotel, still everything was ok, we had no problems about that.

We liked the friendliness and competence of the staff. They were very informative. Also, we were sure that if there had been a taxi strike on the day we needed to go to the airport that they would have arranged a way for getting us there. Close to markets. It was probably close to shops and cafes as well but it was not a nice time to be visiting Athens. It is on the border of a very bad area. The taxi taking us there went through an area full of police with weaponry which was only a block away. There were prostitutes in the street but they did not operate right outside the hotel and the hotel itself was very clean and felt safe.

The economou hotel Athens was very clean. The furnishings seemed new and stylish. The staff were helpful and dignified. The position central though it was a bit unsavoury having "adult Cinema " in the same street and prostitutes which felt a bit dangerous. We don't have complaints we would come again before leaving Greece. OUr reason for staying here was previous good experience

Helpful and friendly staff, free internet and some tasty biscuits for breakfast. Neighbourhood is slightly dodgy, although the hotel is not too far from the main road and I didn't feel particularly unsafe.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Satisfactory breakfast. Well placed - near metro station and within walking distance of Plaka but rather seedy area. Prostitutes in the vicinity at night, sex cinema and sex shop close by. Some people might feel intimadated

We were impressed by Demetrius, who gave us all the help we needed and by his friendliness. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to Plaka, the Acropolis and other tourist sites - very convenient. It is also situated between two metro stations. The rooms are quiet and very clean, with starched and ironed bed sheets. Breakfast is also very satisfying. Just round the corner are some prostitutes luring unsuspecting males.

Hotel staff always asked if we needed anything or had any questions when going in or out the main door. Air conditioning worked very well. Supermarket, atm and all other necessary services were close. When we first arrived, we were given a great handy map and they marked all the useful places down for us (sightseeings, places to shop & dine...). You could hear some noise from the room next door, but it didn't bother us.

A good city hotel within 15 minutes walk to the Acropolis and other places of interest. Friendly staff, Whilst fine during the day, just be aware that the immediate area around the hotel at night is somewhat dodgy. Be extra vigilant when walking from the main street down to the hotel.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The location was decent in the city - accessible to the metro and walking distance from sites. This hotel is near some sex shops and prostitutes. Can be uncomfortable if walking at night.

The hotel is good, good staff, good breakfast and good location, near to almost everything interesting for turism. We could walk to the main places of interest like Acropolis, Zeus temple, Plaka, the Flea market and others places. The neighborhood around the hotel is a little bit suspicious but we were three girls walking alone at day and night and there was no problem. Just be aware at what is going around. We had a good trip. The wifi frequently didn't work.

“Every step I met in there was just like a big family! I love them all ;) What a lovely greek hospitality! Some people might say the place is not very good and dangerous, but hey it's not that bad! ( I also stayed near omonia square, little suspicious though, it's interesting just watching! haha) I love greece so much even I couldn't properly use public transportation when I need! If I could visit Athen again ( definitely will do!) I will choose this hotel again!” Sui, Seoul |
