El Greco Resort  

This place is like a Country side resort for elderly people or people with children. Not for honeymoon or Couples seeking the ultimate Santorini Romantic Getaway.The facilities are impeccable - good heated water, good wifi, clean, good parking, walking distance to Fira (look North and see the Carrefourre Supermarket).

The view is Not as spectacular as described.The caldera is on the West Side but the hotel is on the East side of the road. Thus you cannot see the view from the room.you have to walk out and cross the road to see the view.Unlike the other suites in Oia or fira or Imerviglio.In my opinion, its better to book a room at Oia if you planning to watch the sunset from your balcony or room.-

the hotel room was large with small kitchen and sitting area with views across the caldera. Breakfast buffet was large. Pools were all clean with plenty of seating.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a lovely room with a fantastic view over the Caldera. The staff were very efficient, friendly, accommodating and very helpful. The included buffet breakfast was plentiful, full of variety and continually replenished. There was three different pool areas and many shady areas in which to relax. It was only a short, five minute, walk into Fira town, which is abundant with shops and restaurants. Fira itself is full of more expensive resorts, right on the cliff face and away from any traffic.

For those with views over the Caldera, traffic noise during the night from the busy road was a little loud but the view from the balcony is well worth it. The mattress was very firm, though that seems to be normal for Greece in general.

The best thing about El Greco Resort is it's size. Probably the largest resort in Santorini, we were impressed with how well it was positioned just outside of Fira town. All the staff were extremely helpful with all our requests. Being a family with a young child, this resort was perfect for our little one. He was able to use the smaller swimming pools whilst we enjoyed a drink or a coffee watching him swim. Being at such a large resort, we found that a lot of families book at the same resort for the same reasons as us and we met several other families with young children that our boy could play with. Fira town is only a stroll up the road (even with a stroller it only takes 5 minutes). The room was quite large with plenty of front yard for the little one to play in the afternoon. We did not have a room facing the Caldera; however we had the best views of the sunrise in the morning. Being on the other end of the resort also made our location perfect for minimal noise from the traffic in the street at nights.

The only thing that we can suggest for improvement is the breakfast in the morning. With so many seasonal fruits available, there was very minimal fresh fruits in the morning for breakfast. There was however quite a large selection of greek deserts, breads as well as eggs, hams and sausages/bacons.

Location very good, rooms are very spacious , staff very friendly and always try to assist , food and bar service very good

The lack of useable wireless internet - it may seem like a gripe but when you pay for an access card which is then unusable due to the speed - its an annoyance.

There was a choice of about 4 pools. The room was comfortable and breakfast was yum!

I didn't like that wifi was only available in reception or how far the hotel was from the centre of town not the outskirts.

The hotel was very quiet and comfortable, close enough to the town to walk comfortably without the noise and hustle of shoppers. Bar and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy the pools, but they looked lovely.

The weather was too cold to enjoy the lovely surrounds of our room! Guess that is not the hotels fault though...

The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to Fira, restaurants, shops and transport. Our room was quite spacious, overlooked the pool and had a bar fridge. We got a good rate as it was low season.

The room had a damp smell all the time and we struggled to keep the windows open as the weather was quite cold during our stay. The bathroom had a shower above th bath with a curtain and no shower screen, so every time I used the shower, the bathroom was literally flooded. The housekeeping was not of a high standard, sheets seemed too small for the bed and were never tucked. We also ran out of toilet paper daily and it couldn't understand why they couldn't leave a few spare rolls given that we were there for 5 nights. During our first 2 nights there was a group of teenagers who partied by the pool till the early hours of the morning which meant we hardly got any sleep. Whilst the breakfast buffet was huge, variety seemed limited and the ingredients didn't seem to be of high quality. E.g. tinned fruit instead of fruit salad, greek yoghurt only, orange juice was diluted and barely tasted anything like orange juice. I know this seems like quite a lot of negative feedback but the weather wasn't very good when we were in Santorini so it meant that we spent a lot of time in and out of the room rather than lazing by the pool.

Me encantado sus instalaciones, muy adecuadas al estilo de Santorini pero con todo el confort y modernidad. También su ubicación es ideal, a 5 minutos del centro andando, comida buena y buena atención del personal.

Bon établissement situé à l'entrée de Fira (à l'écart de la foule mais accessible au centre ville de fira en 5/10mn à pied). Chambre quadruple très spacieuse et très fonctionnelle. Très belles piscines (4), pafaites pour des vacances en famille.

Le seul bémol, l'organisation du petit déjeuner, obligés de faire la queue pour se servir, cela fait un peu cantine et pourrait être organiser différement pour éviter une cohue inconsidérable (augmenter la plage horaire petit déj qui est uniquement de 8h à 10h/ faire plusieurs ilots...) c'est vraiment dommage de commencer la journée en se stressant au petit déj.
