Not even sure where to start…grrrr….
Check-in & check-out:
The receptionist showed us our room, which was a studio, even though we booked a 1 bedroom apartment (she was keep trying to convince us that it was not a studio and as she was saying that with a smile on her face I questioned whether she was that delusional or shamelessly dishonest - it was a one space area with one double bed). We were not happy about this at all, so she offered us another place, which was also a studio but at least nicer & overlooking the beach…. we told her that we wanted to pay in cash (as a couple just seemed easier to pay like this 50/50). She said we can pay at the end of our stay, which seemed fine. However, later on, when checking out, she told us that she already charged one of our credit cards for the full amount for the one bedroom apartment.
During our stay:
Toilet was leaking! We were keep putting towels down next to the floor mat to soak the water/sewage up and was beyond disgusting. The cleaner did not change the towels everyday and just put the floor mat out to our balcony to dry - as dirty as it was.
The bed and pillows are very hard (but I guess that comes down to your preference if you like that or not).
We had the worst sleeps, planes make great noises and the whole apartment block is just very blatant with overhearing every door being shut, neighbors' noises and so on.
Could go on with a lot more "minor" negative details (e.g plastic cups in the apartment had whole in them, small lamp next to the bed did not work, sheets were not changed, did not have a sink to wash up…) but overall, I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. Go somewhere less expensive, so you expect less beforehand or pay a bit more for something more luxurious but this is definitely not great value for money.
The location is great, Kamari is a good base if you are looking to rent a car/quad to travel around and discover the island from there.
