Great place, view and people
A little bit to small breakfasts
Friendly staff with advice what to visit op Leros. Hotel lies central for visiting the hotspots. The view over de town and citadel is beautiful. If you want a lazy evening, stay there and you can ask for a nice diner.
The hostess Luna is very welcoming and even picked me up at the harbour without my asking to. She explained all of Leros in 10 points with a map, including insighful comments on any and every Leros related topic! The hotel is a little on the heights in Platanias which make is perfect base to explore the island. The hotel boasts a swimming pool and a view of the superb castle. The hotel provides spacious clean rooms, sunbeds, cooking, bicycle and scooter rental, a travel agency so you are more or less covered for every possible eventuality. There is even a private museum on the battle of Leros, which most public museums would envy! I really enjoyed my stay and was sorry to go. I would definitely give the Elephteria my full recommendation and hope to return soon.
Antonis and Lune were the most friendly and helpful owners and I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is planning to stay in Platonos. It was a pleasure to have met them.
We were only on Leros for two days and Hotel Elefteria was a brilliant place to stay. We were picked up at the port, the location was great with fabulous views of the castle. Luna, the owner could not have been more helpful, from advising us where to go, where to eat, ordering a car for us - nothing was too much trouble. We loved our two days, saw lots of the island and would definitely return and stay at Hotel Elefteria.
The hosts were very helpful. Luna takes great pride in telling you all about Leros on your arrival. She is also very helpful with arranging anything you need - I hired a scooter. Good food, clean room and great views of the castle especially when it is lit up at night.
We visited Leros for our 40th weeding anniversay and chose somewhere we had not been before (our 57th Greek island). On arrival it was immediately clear how friendly, helpful and informative Antonis and Luna were--nothing was any trouble and they went out of their way to make our stay great. Antonis cooking was also superb and we will definitely visit again in the near future. We can only say a big THANKYOU to both of you for making our stay (and spacial day) so enjoyable. See you soon!!!
Nothing--everything was superb!!
Antonis and Luna, the owners, are lovely persons, their greek cuisin is excellent, we apreciated their care and support, view and swiming pool great!
-Hospitality of Antonis and Luna (they make the real difference) -Pool terrace -View
-Location is a bit uphill and at a bit of a walking distance from the beach but there is a taxi station nearby the hotel
Antonios and Luna are excellent hosts, very friendly and full of useful tips on where to go and what to see. The room was well-equipped and I enjoyed the balcony with it's great view of the Crusader castle, not to mention the terrific pool area. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return someday. Thanks, guys.
Having to leave!
Wonderful hosts, great hotel. Thank you Luna and Toni for a lovely time at your hotel.
We liked the pool, the fact that we were given a very helpful ride to the port to catch a ferry. We liked the fact that there were good facilities in the immediate vicinity. We felt looked after and appreciated. We were helped with car hire and given good directions to local sites.
I didn't like the fact that we had to order breakfast separately, though breakfast items were as cheap/expensive as in the town, I would have been more comfortable if everything was included. This is a minor point.
We got in very early around about five in the morning but were anke to check in by 9 and were able to relax by pool until then. Luna was a great source of info on the island but the real gem was Antonis cooking. We were too tired to go out that night and he cooked us a real Greek feast (stuffed peppers yum!) we later learned hed cooked in many different places and would thoroughly recommend his food to anyone
Wifi was not amazing down stairs but fine upstairs so no real issue
View was great from the rooftop. Location is very good, next to the local square, and a short walk to the beach in one direction and the port town in the other. Ground floor room, with outside terrace area was OK, but wasn't a balcony view that you can get in other rooms.
Rooms were the most basic we had in 6 weeks in Greece. Dark and dingy. No wifi in room, only up on the roof. Pool area/rooftop wasn't a place to relax, popular with families, so kids screaming and jumping in pool constantly. At night seemed to be an expat hotspot where everyone knew each other, so again didn't feel comfortable sitting up there to enjoy the view. Therefore the two things we booked the hotel for the view and the pool, we didn't get to use. Would stay elsewhere (DP Asterias was excellent and same price). Reception on roof, so not good for people with mobility issues.
hotel is situated in the city center and very close to needed facilities like ATM, supermarket, shops and cafe Linens were changed every 3rd day as it was announced Antonis provided a lot of useful information about the history and memorable things of the island.
Very noisy all the time. There is no chance to sleep in siesta time and at night due to noise of motorbikes and tourists. Rooms were dirty even after cleaning (our legs were colored black after staying on the floor in a few minutes!) Our balcony was not cleared at all during our 12-days stay. Very hot in the room! A/C could be turned on If you pay 5 euro extra for the day when you use it. Turning on the A/C could not decide this problem, because A/C was placed and connected inside the building, it could not provide fresh air. Swimming pool was dirty and with insects in it. There were not any tools to avoid mosquitoes. Every night we were attacked by them. Only one pack of shower gel was provided during our stay. For two persons was given only one glass. Owners weren't friendly at all. The quality of coffee is not respond to the price. Transfer back to harbour was not provided. Water to drink and hot water are not providing. There was not TV. Price for provided services is too high. For the same price it is possible to arrange good appartment with all facilities and welcome drinks in the city center of Athens.
Location, close to marina, cafés, and attractions. Pool and the view from it
Antonis and Luna, the owners, are lovely persons. They are also a travel agency, and organize all ferry tickets to Leros. Antonis created 2 ferry tickets on the N/A ferry from Kos to Leros at the last minute. They advise you in detail what to do on Leros according to your stay period, and arrange rental car. The couple are very friendly.
We could not use the A/C in the rooms because it was not placed at the right point. We tried every angle on the remote control, but cold air was blowing directly on our beds. So we had to turn it off and open the balcony door to sleep. Then some mosquitos... Ask for a rightly situated A/C for your room,
Fantastic hotel! Clean and comfortable in a central location. Our room had a beautiful view of the Castle. We were unexpectedly picked up and dropped off (at 10pm
Some fans under the Patio on the pool area would be nice.
The propietary of the hotel was very rude He was putting me under presion to stay more days telling me that it was the best and everything was full and it was not true When We said that we are leaving he start to shout it was the worst of my trip The hotel has a good view on the bar but the ros are small and dark
We had the “penthouse” apartment perfect for two adults and two children. I dear say that the view from the room must be the best in Leros. Panoramic view facing the Castle and a good sea view. Short walking distance to the beach in Panteli. The hotel owners are friendly and helpful and give good advice on how to explore Leros. The serve good food tool. Try the hotel, you want be disappointed.
occoccasional noise from the bar
I loved the family who run this hotel. It was my first stay there and was made very welcome. The pool area is fantastic. My room was above what I expected. The food and service is 100%. I will be back next year. Thanks Luna, Tony, thasos and little lefteris :-)
The view with the castle & windmills overlooking the terrace day and night is unbeatable - possibly unique. Bar, pool & eating/drinking area located there so nice to see everything so near. Greek husband & Danish wife owners work hard to make stays comfortable & easy supported by their sons. Located between Agia Marina & Leros town, Platanos is is central for both. Prices are reasonable, but as most guests are Scandinavians, choose carefully from the menu. We had breakfast once there & it was OK. Iced wine while watching football was OK with the pool handy to cool down.
Rooms could be upgraded a bit, they're now stark & bare. All with a balcony though. Terrace is covered in false grass & attracts nibbling insects at nighfall. But nothing horrendous. I saw no rival nearby.
The owners were very helpful with everything including our transfer from Kos where Luna organized an hotel there for us and also provided the catamaran tickets on our return. The view from our apartment was spectacular and the location was very central for taxis, buses, shops and about a ten minute walk to the beach,
Everything. The room was comfortable. And the owner, Luna couldn't have been more helpful. Would not only return, but would heartily recommend it to others.
