Very central. Near everything. Lovely view over harbour., Lovely landlady and her sons, Nikos and Adonis. Vary helpful, generous (ouzo and raki) and good fun.
Very little. Some nights might be a little noisy, but ear plugs solved that. Overall, excellent
Location, staff, rooms
superb location, clean beds, some cutlery and plates provided
Wifi was a little weak, making Skype calls difficult; a lot of noise from bars in the evening on the harbour side of the hotel, but the hotel is not to blame for this. With earplugs it did not bother me.
I liked the balcony with view on the Venetian harbour and the welcoming soalon on the floor with the raki bottle adn glasses. I liked it was nearby the Ventian harbour and not that far away from the bus station.
It was close by the bar street but if you have a room like mine, first one on the right when you come up the stairs, you have no hinder at all.
Well, it is a very noisy place. The most rooms were sympathetic and clean but the economy room is one of the most beggarly places to stay. It has no window, the main door of the room is from glass with a valance to cover and it opens to an interior hallway. There was no TV and the air condition during my stay was broken. Actually it gives me the sense that is was the laundry room of the hotel, which was converted unsuccessfully to a room. The owners were friendly in the beginning but when I shοwed my dissatisfaction for the conditions of my stay they became inimical and they were absolutely not in the mood to find a solution. If you gonna ever stay there be aware of the room that you will book, definitely not the economy one!
-Small sized room -Small toilet with no separate room for shower -Extremely noisy during the night. -Bad WIFI connection
Owners, the room, the location, cleanliness
Good location! Just in the old harbor, nice view from the public balcony. Nice old building as well as two levels room! Owners are very kind!
Broken shower was only one disappointing thing(
Great location with a wonderful view of the Venetian Harbour and hospitable staff.
It can be noisy because of its proximity to the restaurants and bars.
Great location, great value, just off the port so didn't get the loud music all night!
Location, staff, interior style of the building and rooms
Nick was friendly and helpful. The location is great with a fantastic balcony with views to main square and the venetian port and lighthouse. Tea and coffee facilities supplied as well as raki! Great stay in Chania. Fridge also in room was appreciated for our supplies.
Earplugs sometimes at night if you are a light sleeper may be required. Noise didn't worry us though.
We got one of the bigger rooms though modern and fairly basic split level it had delightful street view balcony with light blue shutters and venetian windows ,access to shared terrace with harbour view and setting sun over lighthouse. 1 km from beach and a minute from harbour, mini market across from street. taxi from airport to door or bus station 15 mins walk. everyone helpful.Beautiful front door reminder of olden days.starched embroidered sheets and clean towels
unusual stairs may pose a difficulty for some.
The best location right in centre of old city Hania with friendly staff
Wonderful location, we had a balcony overlooking the harbour. We liked the large comfortable double bed located on a platform accessed via rather steep open tread stairs. The landlady was friendly and very helpful, when we pointed out that there was no kettle she went out and bought one! It was reasonably quiet for the town centre with a mini-market close to hand.
The plumbing was somewhat of a challenge! Waste water from the sink tended to come up through the bathroom floor drain and hot water was not always available. The equipment was limited such that we had to buy a chopping board and a bread knife. And we subsequently discovered that the charges were high compared to equivalent nearby accommodation.
Location and the balcony are big plus
nothing to complain .. it was gr8
The daughter gave us suggestions of where to eat and drive to (we had a rental car). It is a good location, right next to the port (30 second walk). Maybe this place is okay for summer, but not winter or the off season, turning off hot water is unacceptable to this hosteller.
No one was at the door when we knocked and rang the bell, I had to call from my cellphone which meant I was paying 20 cents per minute. The girl who let us in was the daughter of the owner and she let us know that they are closed but they honored our booking anyway. Once she checked us in and we payed we never saw anyone again, there was no one anywhere to help us unless we called (and payed) again. Upon check in we had hot (11 am ish) but later that night when we returned there was no hot water so I could not shower as it was winter and the water was not even tepid, it was very cold. I tried to shower the next morning but there was still no hot water. The entire stay becomes very unpleasant when a person cannot shower. If they technically were not open and did not want to keep the hot water on, then they should have informed us so we could have booked another place.
Location, location, location! If like authentic atmosphere - this is the place for you.
Location was perfect. We did not Think we had a terrasse - but we did. Great !! Very scenic view over the harbour. Owner was very kind and helpfull. Shops, bars and restaurants just around the corner.
Very noisy during the Night - remember earplugs !! Beds were pretty hard.
Very friendly and helpful, great location, good value and very nice shared veranda to sit on with views over harbour.
The room didn't have any windows, but you get what you pay for!
good location, friendly staf, good price/value
very spacious room with a lovely balcony overlooking the harbour. owners very friendly and helpful. Very clean and excellent value for money.
There are a few bars right below the hotel that can be noisy.
We really liked the location: it's in the real city centre. The balcony on the harbour is lovely.
We booked for an economy double room, which was said to have a kitchenette, but we didn't expect these to be a small fridge and a kettle. The room also didn't have any window, the only one being above the door which was in the shared living room. When we asked for explanations, the receptionist said us it was the room we booked, even if the pictures on the web site were pretty different from the room we got (we showed him the picture from our reservation e-mail). The owner were at Erato only from 10.00 am to 13.00 pm, so we had to call Booking.com staff to agree on a discount (15 euros, we stay there 4 nights), and we were asked to pay immediately, although we should have paid at the end because "they didn't trust us anymore". From that moment on our room hadn't been cleaned anymore.
Localization could not be better-there is a beautiful view over venetian harbour from the terace, very friendly staff, free wifi and raki!, quite big 2 level rooms,
The only disadvantage of this hotel was occasional lack of hot water (it happened twice durin 10 days stay.
