Located just off the beach, this peaceful and traditional hotel comes with its own outdoor swimming pool, which is ideal for enjoying the warm sunshine on the island of Crete. The Hotel Erato is set in Gournes Pediados, just 9 miles to the east of Heraklion. Here you can enjoy the golden sands and clear waters of the Eastern Mediterranean. The Erato has a charming wood-and-stone restaurant. There is also an informal bar. Local attractions include the island's international exhibition center and one of Greece's biggest aquariums. A range of cafes, bars, restaurants and stores are found in the nearby resort center. Chersonissos has a vibrant night light about 10 minute away by car. Hotel Rooms: 32

Clean. basic and good buffet breakfast. We arrived at 23.30 to find the hotel locked even though the info said reception was open until midnight. We had to ring a telephone no displayed on the door and 20 mins later the manager arrived and let us in. He seemed genuinely surprised to see us and when he checked he had no recod of our booking. We showed him a copy of our booking and he was further amazed by the cost being so low and including breakfast. Nevertheless he had a room and he was fine about it. Looks like a breakdown in communication with booking.com.

We kwamen als laatste gasten een uur te laat aan door een staking van het douanepersoneel en bij aankomst vroegen ze vriendelijk of we ons graag snel wilden opfrissen zodat ze ons eten konden serveren en het keukenpersoneel naar huis kon. Dat was Grieks, eenvoudig en dus heerlijk. Voor ons een goed en vriendelijk hotel voor een nacht, dicht bij het vliegveld op de heen- of terugreis naar of van elders op Kreta.

Les repas servis sous forme de buffet; très bonne cuisine. Le côté simple et familial de l'établissement. Gérant pas sympathique (sauf avec les allemands!) chambre bruyante (aboiement d'un chien les 2 nuits)

Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Gut bei später Ankunft in Heraklion, da recht nah am Flughafen und der Weg zum Hotel problemlos zu finden ist.

“The rooms are really good, we booked the superior family room and it was huge with plenty of space for us and our 3 children. The rooms are serviced daily and the meals are good as well. We enjoyed breakfast and most dinners here (buffet style) and it is excellent value at 5 euro for breakfast and 10 euro for dinner (half price for children too!). Would highly recommend a stay at Star beach village, Crete is beautiful and we would love to come back!! “This hotel was wonderful. It had very big and comfortable beds. The AC worked well and the bathroom was heavenly. It had a walkin shower and they gave us nice robes and towels.
