Located just off the beach, this peaceful and traditional hotel comes with its own outdoor swimming pool, which is ideal for enjoying the warm sunshine on the island of Crete.

The Hotel Erato is set in Gournes Pediados, just 9 miles to the east of Heraklion. Here you can enjoy the golden sands and clear waters of the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Erato has a charming wood-and-stone restaurant. There is also an informal bar.

Local attractions include the island's international exhibition center and one of Greece's biggest aquariums. A range of cafes, bars, restaurants and stores are found in the nearby resort center. Chersonissos has a vibrant night light about 10 minute away by car.

There is a roof garden and a pool. A sandy beach is located about half a mile away with free lounge chairs and sun umbrellas. There is also a wide range of water sports such as diving lessons, water ski, para-sailing, windsurfing about 3000 ft away.

Greek BBQ nights with live music are organized by the pool (for extra charge).

The hotel offers shower facilities upon departure (for late departures), a first aid, laundry service (outside the hotel) and a taxi service. Pets are not allowed.

Restaurant and bar: An attractive, comfortable and completely air conditioned room with quality service and reasonable prices. The restaurant can be accessed from the main road. It offers a wide range of tasty local cuisine.

Halfboard guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet and a served dinner. Guests can enjoy drinks and snacks on the porch by the pool.
Near the restaurant there is also a nice air conditioned bar with a satellite TV.

John Mature couple WREXHAM, United Kingdom November 1, 2011	Clean. basic and good buffet breakfast. We arrived at 23.30 to find the hotel locked even though the info said reception was open until midnight. We had to ring a telephone no displayed on the door and 20 mins later the manager arrived and let us in. He seemed genuinely surprised to see us and when he checked he had no recod of our booking. We showed him a copy of our booking and he was further amazed by the cost being so low and including breakfast. Nevertheless he had a room and he was fine about it. Teunis Mature couple Blaricum, Netherlands October 25, 2011	We kwamen als laatste gasten een uur te laat aan door een staking van het douanepersoneel en bij aankomst vroegen ze vriendelijk of we ons graag snel wilden opfrissen zodat ze ons eten konden serveren en het keukenpersoneel naar huis kon. Dat was Grieks, eenvoudig en dus heerlijk. Voor ons een goed en vriendelijk hotel voor een nacht, dicht bij het vliegveld op de heen- of terugreis naar of van elders op Kreta.
