Eridanus Luxury Art Hotel  

Facilities were excellent, room large with a marble bathroom. Breakfast was good and varied. SoundproofIng was also quite good as we could not hear our neighbors through the walls or door to open hallway. One of the many entrances to the Acropolis was two blocks away.

Area is a not attractive with motor cycle shops and other cut rate stores. Side streets did not appear safe. Although subway was two blocks away, we took taxis when coming home at night.

I knew this hotel since its opening, back in 2002 if I remember well, when I was still residing in Athens. From the first day, it was considered a jewel among Athens hotels, due to its historical, downtown central location, its building which is a perfectly restored historical venue and its spirit, which was representing a perfect combination of historical grandeur together with hip and boutique atmosphere. In addition, exactly next door was the restaurant of the only one Gree chef with two (2) Michellin stars, which was the hotels main restaurant. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: The price was unbelievable!!! 67,50 euros for as single use room w/h breakfast for a lux, 5* hotel, is beyond imagination! The hotel overall, was a HUGE value for money.

The hotel obviously changed ownership (and management) recently. The staff that currently runs it, the essence and the feeling they create, and finally, the service they provide, although absolutely sufficient, are not in any case, those expected in a 5*+ lux hotel. The hotel's status in general is not any more a 5*+ situation, but roughly a good 4. There are certain but quite numerous little spots in public areas that are worn, and they give a sense of a starting abandoning... The car parking at the back of the hotel in the very centre of Athens is a great plus, but having to go around the whole building block for getting in the hotel's main entrance because of lack of straight through passage, is not a 5* situation! Neither is the fact that you need to carry luggage yourself around the block, because there was only one receptionist at 22:00 when I got there!... Also, the staff looks 2nd class, not the type of sharp, rigid professional that one would expect to see in a 5*. Although they do their job OK, they don't have by any means, that "magic feeling".., The restaurant with the 2 Michellin stars chef is still there next door, but now works separated from the hotel, that indicates something...

Extra spacious room and king size bed, easy access to the Thissio area - Acropolis, very helpful staff, good selection for breakfast in good setting, provided transport to the airport for same cost as taking a taxi, great view of the Acropolis.

Seems out of place in this part of Athens, but did not feel that there were any security concerns - notwithstanding vehicle workshops and lower socioeconomic neighbours.

The Hotel is very close to the "Acropolys". Bathroom clean and room very confortable.

Good breakfast but not so good for a 5 star hotel

Spectacular! This is a small boutique hotel, with a location in Gazi, thus close to the night life in both Gazi and Psiri. This hotel has spectacular rooms with an excellent Spa and breakfast selection. My room had a very comfortable massage shower in addition to a big bath. Extremely clean and fabulously decorated! I strongly recommend this hotel!

The hotel design in awesome and luxury. Wifi provided and is fast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided are delicious and variety of choice.

Although location is a little far from Athens city center, but with Metro station (Keramikos) is just located nearby, is not a big problem!

Clean and comfortable room with a lot of space and nice decoration. Big and comfortable bed, nice breakfast. In general, great value for money.

The parking is at the back of the hotel and you have to call them on the phone in order to get the door opened. And since there is no entrance at the back, you have to carry your luggage from the parking all the way around the hotel to get in.

Excellent location close the main tourist spots. Very friendly and responsive staff.

The aesthetics & design of the hotel, the room, the Acropolis view, the amazing buffet breakfeast, the room service menu, the in-suite coffee(!), the staff, the steam room.

No wifi on the 5th floor.

Design of the suits, not too functional but fancy, for being a 4 stars hotel it's really excellent!
