Score from 1535 reviews Very good
The hotel provides excellent value for a money and is a stone's throw away from all tourist attractions - the shopping area around Monastiriki, Sintagma and the Acropolis. You won't need any sort of transportation - everything is within walking distance. The staff are extremely helpful and have a great attitude. The facilities are great for the price.
I would recommend that they invest in a new router as the wifi was very problematic - and practically non-existence around 7 or 8 pm when all guests were at the hotel. The area is also a bit unsavoury, with many run-down and abandoned buildings (but most of Athens is like this anyway these days).
Really helpful staff Easy walking distance to all the attractions. No where is better for the money in Athens. Felt completely safe at night. Even with the oh so scary graffiti that every body seemed to be worried about.
You can't get more central AND affordable than this hotel. It's in the middle of the city. You practically don't need other means of transportation because everything is near: Syntagma Square, Monastiraki, Acropolis, Anafiotika, Ermou Street, main Museums. I loved that it has a direct connection (line 3)to the airport, which matters a lot when traveling with tons of luggage. I also liked the staff very much. Very polite and helpful. They gave us clear indications about some sights we wanted to visit and they even knew the accurate weather forecast, which was quite helpful (imagine visiting the Acropolis on a rainy day). The room was very nice and clean. Also the terrace where breakfast is served. I totally recommend this hotel!
The neighborhood is a bit unfriendly at week-end nights (many bars around the area) but just keep it cool and mind your own business :) I'd still choose this hotel if I were to visit Athens again.
it was better than expected
The lovely view from the roof-terrace, the very kind night receptionist, the cheap price .
The horrible view from my room ( on an abandoned building falling apart) the area that has become really difficult at night lately ( especially when traveling alone) the very noisy stone floors making my night short since the occupants upstairs moved the bed around for hours....
the room was small, but not cramped. the entire hotel was clean and stocked, the staff were very helpful, breakfast each morning was delicious.
the connection to the free wifi is patchy, so try not to rely on it
Nice staff and kind of ok breakfast. Its a pity our room was a bit stinky and quite cold. It was raining and heating wasnt working properly. To sum up: if you are young and looking for something economic central and well communicated... this is your weekend hosteltel.
wi-fi, location, price is good
everything was ok
Located just a short distance (~ .5 mi) from the main tourist area and in the trendy restaurant area. Room was comfortable, quiet, and had a partial view of acropolis. Bathroom was clean, had enough space, and good towels and plenty of quick hot water. The view from the rooftop was amazing! For the price I couldn't expect more from breakfast, but it would be nice. It was a standard budget breakfast of cold boiled eggs, sliced meats and cheeses, several kinds of bread, cereal, raisins, dried figs, small cookies, some so-so looking whole apples, pears, and oranges, sliced tomato, greek yogurt, and (on 2 of 3 days) canned fruit mix and sliced cucumbers. Also coffee, tea, and from concentrate juice. Also, I was able to park my car directly in front of the hotel in one of its roughly 5 on street spots. Had they been full I would have probably paid to put it in a nearby pay lot ($5/day) as I would not have been comfortable leaving it on the street. All in all, good experience and would stay here again.
The shower (like many Greek hotels) only has a tiny tub with handheld shower attachment. It needs a curtain and wall attachment to hang the shower head on. The breakfast room was crowded with tables and chairs (thankfully it was pretty empty when we were there so we could make room for our chairs.) We arrived late and the room was cold when we got in. Took a while to warm up. Would be nice if the heat was on before we arrived so we didn't have to go to bed cold.
Super clean and comfortable bed - hard to find qualities in this price range in central Athens. Really central location - 5mins walk from main sites and metro. Quiet at night, decent breakfast with nice views from the top floor, really helpful staff.
Pity we did not get the double bed we had asked for; small bathroom which could have done with a shower curtain. If you are concerned about safety, the area might feel a bit scary at night; even with the tiny 'could be better' bits, this is still the best hotel at the best price I've found in Athens so far.
It's pretty clean and the room's size was quite big. There's a halal store nearby which is very convenient for Muslims since there aren't that many halal food in Athens. It's about 5-10 minutes walk to Athens Flea Market,Hadrian's Library and Monastiraki Metro Station.
The kettle and the iron was broken. It's not very suitable for people who travels heavy and takes the metro from the airport. It's not actually that far..but if you were carrying a heavy luggage, you would probably prefer a hotel that is nearer to the Monastiraki Station.
Location. It was easy to visit museums etc. Simple and good breakfast. Quite place.
I did not like the area at late evening. Dark. It was not ok to go to the Hotel late in the evening, alone.
close to public transport(metro to and from airport) close to important places in city ( within walking distance) very clean, polite staff, good choices at breakfast, excellent view of city & acropolis from the breakfast room on 7th floor
slow & interuption in connection to internet when too many people get connected via mobile phones & various other devices - otherwise is alright
The central location near Metro and surrounded by fascinating market and shops is excellent. Easy walk to the major sights. Views from terrace stunning day and night. Accommodation is basic but comfortable and represents incredible value for money.
Breakfast was a bit uninspiring. Photos on website of terrace and breakfast room make it look classier than it is! But the views are stunning.
1. Close to City Centre (10 min walk to Syntagma square) & most attractions as well as restaurants & cafes 2. Breakfast was good, included wide variety of choices to have in the morning. 3. It was good to have a small fridge in the room.
1. Wifi was not that good, kept disconnecting at times (i was based in 6th floor). 2. Surrounding area was a bit dodgy, full of graffiti. However it is not what it first look to you. Was pretty safe to walk during the night.
Low on price. Near Acropolis Near metro
The neighburhood wasn't that great. It's not on the main street. Difficult to find. The opposit building across the street was abbandoned.
ı reserved 1 person+ 1 guest "single room for two person" but when we arrived, they said because of the room is calling "single room", for my son, they want 5 euro for one night and each day. WİFİ is limited, i think with 30 min. after 30 min. there was always connecting problem.
Excellent location, staff very friendly, we definitely will back to this hotel :)
Good hotel in the heart of Athens, great views of the Acropolis, either from your balcony (if lucky to be in the higher rooms) or through its open rooftop or bar.
This hotel provides all we need for a reasonable night-stop in Athens. It is close to Monaistiraki metro station (access to/from airport) - it is opposite to a reasonable Greek food outlet (so you need never be hungry) - the hotel has been updated (improved) over the last few years - it is comfortable, with staff friendly and free use of a computer in the lobby (together with free printing facilities - superb for printing airport boarding passes) and it is central to everything in Athens.
The local area appears a bit 'rough' (but we will continue to use as our Athens 'hotel of preference' as the hotel represents good value for money and convenience)
This hotel is super clean, very comfortable, bargain priced and in an excellent location. The staff is especially helpful. Some people have complained about the rundown street immediately to the east of the hotel. If, when you exit the hotel, you turn left instead of right, and then left again at the first street, you walk through a much nicer area to Monastiraki. I like this hotel.
Slippers and bath curtain needed
the parking is not safety, thieft is everywhere
lots of little shops near by selling interesting things and not the usual tourist stuff . Nice places to eat as well.
The charm of the area is somewhat destroyed by graffiti: At night, when most shops are closed the area looks really run down largely due to the massive amount of grafitti
Large rooms, a very comfy bed, great wifi, delicious buffet breakfast, lovely view of the Parthenon, large balcony with outdoor setting.
