The desk staff were very welcoming and helpful with directions to my questions. Room was very comfortable and the location was fantastic. The view from the rooftop was lovely.
WiFi became a little unreliable on the last day.
Location - very close to the most important attractions of Athens. Nice, clean but modest hotel. Great view from the top roof.
Location - the street is dirty, with abandonded buildings and graffitis. Looks unpleasent, especially at night, although I think it is quite safe.
Great location, good value for money, friendly, great breakfast included.
View of the Acropolis was very nice. Room Is clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice rooftop area with great views --- breakfast with plenty of options & helpful service. We are already booked the next visit.
that I had a place to sleep.
the first thing is the bad smell of the hotel. 2nd - it's too expensive for what you get. the area of the hotel is very poor and not nice to walk there at night.
The lady that checked us in in the evening was great. The hotel is very conveniently located. The Monastiraki metro is on both the airport and harbour lines! Very close to Platia Iroon with great eateries. Breakfast was adequate but the view made it great!
The silliest tiny bath ever!
Little gem in a previously mistreated suburb. Very good value! Just sleep, have breakfast and hit the town! The graffiti actually makes it more interesting to explore and there are great restaurants hidden in magical locations!!! Very safe and truly a great hotel to experience some of greece herself!! Owners are very lovely and even packed us a breakfast on the go when we had to leave at four in the morning to the airport! Just good solid value!!! Nice roof top with great view of acropolis.
Wifi could improve, but was functional.
This hotel proved to be an excellent find for us. We were close to all of the sights and the rooms were very very comfortable. The location itself is in the middle of a grungy street market area, but who cares?! Most of Athens is pretty grungy, but you aren't there for the beauty of the streets. Right down the street is a nice little courtyard with numerous restaurants and bars. Very satisfied with our stay here...had a huge balcony with a view of the Acropolis and Ancient Agora. Awesome!
Nothing...would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Near all see-sightings and transport (metro Monastiraki is just 5-7 min walk). Very clean, with all facilities. And FANTASTIC view to Acropolis from our balcony which equipped with furniture. Basic good breakfast (personally I missed more vegetables), Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very good breakfast on very nice patio area overlooking the neighbourhood.
The mattress was very uncomfortable.
It was really easy to walk from the hotel to the centre of the city. The hotel staff were really helpful and had excellent English. The rooms were Spartan but functional and all that was needed for an overnight stay
A very comfortable hotel with friendly efficient staff.
Was followed while walking in the area at night. Also there seemed to be some bad people hanging around street corners.
- Rooms were okay - View from the breakfast area was INCREDIBLE - Great family run restaurant across the street! Great prices, very kind people, delicious food. Open super late
- Neighborhood wasn't nice, but it was pretty typical Athens
The location near the Central Market is great if you're into food culture. If you like off the beaten track neighborhoods with a variety of cultures, you'll appreciate the location. The rooms were simple and clean, the rooftop bar pleasant, the staff helpful and kind.
The view from the breakfast 'room' terras is great...you can see the Akropolis. The staff is very friendly. The rooms were very clean, wifi working perfectly, great place to stay for one or two nights,
Location. The neighbourhood is a bit (quite a bit) run down..But the hotel is very good..so that is a DO LIKE.
The hotel is nice and the view from the rooftop is great. It is close to Monastiraki metro and to walk to the Akropolis and all the sights, but the neighbourhood is run down unfortunately. Still it seems safe and was convenient for us for a short stay.
Location, proximity to everything. We did not need to take transport to any of the major sights. The area looks a little grungy with all the urban art, but when the stores are open, it is a bright and authentic neighbourhood. The shopkeepers are a delight. Each night, sat on the roof top and watched the sun set over Acropolis. It doesn't get any better than that!
The price and room is okey. The breakfast okey for a hotell with two stars.
The hotel is close to facilities around Akropolis and Plaka-but still the hotell is situated in a area where I would never deear to walk alone. This hotell might be good for bagpackers and those who want to save money. Its a typical two stars hotell-nothing more or less...
Close to Monastiriki Markets and acropolis Close to train station Aircon Views of acropolis
Breakfast To get to hotel from train stn (not too far to walk) but street felt quite dubious and unsafe
We can't say anything positive about our staying in this hotel--despite our reservation they didn't have room for us. We are young couple we were travelling for holidays to Greece and Athens was the last stop.We just came there for one night(saturday night)cuz we had flight at the morning from Athens to home.So we were looking some hotel close to Monasteraki metro station, wanted to enjoy the night there. We found and booked this hotel by booking one month before, we wrote to hotel an email about the time that we are arriving ( about 12am on saturday night), no one from there has any problems. So we arrived as we anticipated and the recepcionist - told as that they don't have any room for us.Don't want to mention about the fact that he tried to blame it on us that our card couldn't be authorized (booking we chose the option of payment after stay) lied that they couldn't contact with us ( in mail we gave contact details) etc.He told finally that he rent our room a somebody else who have came before us.After a few minutes in recepcion, arrived another guest, one lady with reservation and they also didn't have a room for her. The recepcionist give us an contact to another hotel how we suspect the hotel wasn't on the same stanadard, unfortunately the hotel was so far away from the district Monasteraki. We are really disappointed. In this case, we would not recommend anyone who is planning a holiday.
The location of the hotel is excellent, main attractions are all within walking distance. The staff was very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.
This was a very bad area just a few years ago but has been cleaned up and feels quite safe now. Yes, we walked to and from the hotel at night. We will stay there again.
The location was great and the rooftop "bar" was small, but cool. The rooms were also small but clean and comfortable. The front desk was very helpful with maps and directions and gave us a breakfast to go when we left early in the morning.
I would highly recommend the Evripides to other travellers. What it lacked in atmosphere it made up for in everything else.
The hotel is located in doggy place. We asked hotel staff how is it around and they without looking at us said that`s ok. Where just around the corner owner of small mini market said that is not safe and better watch out especially in the evening time. You have to walk around 10 min to safe square and restaurants. I would not recommend this place only because of the location. They are number of other hotels around just by the square that are closer to metro. Also staff very unfriendly.
Doggy location, not safe. You must walk through doggy sites and there is no other way to get to main attractions. Staff in the hotel is very unfriendly. People do not feel you welcome in Athens. We did not feel safe and for the city you need only 2 days max.
