The view from my room made me feel like I was a character in E M Forster’s novel, A Room With a View🙃; the domes, the tiled roofs, the distant mountains, quant courtyard below.
Everything was well cared for and decorated nicely, the building is interesting, the staff helpful, especially Vasilis in reception-thank you for your good cheer Vasilis.
As it is tucked up some extra stairs it was quiet at night, away from tavernas and street noise so I could leave windows open.
It was easy to walk to the harbour, beach, castle and fort as well as the rest of the old city.

although nafplio itself is not large, especially if you stick to the old town which is the most interesting part it is a good base for local tours either with a bus/ktel, affordable taxi or a car. We would have liked to at least check out Epidavros as well and a near by monastery. if you plan to visit nearby sites without basing your self in nafplio 2 days is plenty other wise 4 days to fit Mycenae and Epidavrus

3 nights max is perfect for Nafplio during the winter season. The city is beautiful, the Venesian forst was fabulous and the food is good. The only issue I have with the city is the terrible smell, air quality that seems to start around 5pm and continues until about 8 pm.

A great place with lots of history and plenty of places to eat. Very quaint in the old town and as the tourist season runs throughout the year, it was still having things open during December.
The castle’s are well worth a visit and the shops in the old towns are very much craft related.
It’s not expensive to eat out and it’s well worth a visit but it’s not a very big town so about 3 days would be enough. If you stayed longer, it would be as a base to explore all the old heritage sites located within a hours drive. Definitely get a hire car as no train comes out this far. We flew in to Athens which is a 2 hour drive on the motorway.

Worthwhile to visit. Great little find in Greece.
Worthwhile to visit. Great little find in Greece. Fly to Athens, catch a train as far as Corinth. We then got a taxi as it was late but on researching, better getting a bus from the airport to Nafplio. A third of the price and very convenient. We got a bus back from Nafplio. Sounds a faff but it wasn’t and very comfortable bus journey with helpful driver. Def worth the effort to get to there to visit . Walked up to Palmedi fortress. Wow! The views were stunning. Got the boat over to the other fortress - nice trip. Took the little road train too - only 20 minutes and helps get bearings round the town. Loads of walking. Loads of pubs and restaurants and shops. Food was all fresh and amazing fish served too.
A lovely little hotel. It was one of the most memorable places we stayed during our 3-week travel in Greece. Our room was at the third floor, spacious and charming with a full kitchen and a lovely balcony facing to the sea. The balcony had installed with the ropes and clips for drying clothes.
The Mr. owner helped us to order a taxi taking us to the top of the Palamidi Fortress (10 euro one way).
Great location - inside the old town near a free public car park. Try to come early in the day to get a space.
The property is in the old town of Nafplio and in the very center, just a few steps from the point where Kapodistrias, the first governor of Greece, was murdered which is very impressive to think. The building is really beautiful and our room was really spacious. The breakfast was exceptional, and very rich, so much that you can spend the day without even eating. The owner,
Dimitris was really nice, easy going and kind, ready to provide us with information about everything. We will for sure come back!
Everything was truly spectacular! The location was perfect — walkable to all of the shops and restaurants, yet the hotel itself was private and quiet. The staff were friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was an indulgent experience; such a treat!
We’ll be recommending the Hotel Ilion to all of our friends who travel to Greece, and will be sure to return ourselves!
The hotel could not be better situated, and we stayed 10 days. The rooms were clean , very comfortable and as promised totally sound proof. The breakfast was great, either to eat on the verandah or if you chose on the balcony of your room. The staff and owner were extremely helpful, nothing being to much for them and if we return to Nafplion which we would love to do, would have no hesitation to return to the Epoch House.
We had a beautiful stay at Rigas Pension. It is hard to put to words the feeling we had staying there—the accommodation was so warm and homey and the staff so incredibly hospitable. The rooms were impeccably clean and the breakfast was SO GOOD—every day we had something new and different, but always so delicious. A true 10/10 accommodation. We are so grateful we ended our 28 day trip to Greece on such a high note.
It was my first time staying in a camping still I really enjoyed it. Especially at night sleeping and listening to the crickets' song. Camping is right next to the bus stop of the bus from Nafplio to Tolo and is very easy to get to it and also travel back to town. There are 3 beaches within a walking distance. The owner Gina and the facility guy Panagiotis are both very nice and friendly
The best view of Nafplio and Bourtzi. The most convenient location. Staff very professional and amicable . The balcony is wonderful . Of course it needs renovation and the 5 stars are not justified but I prefer to see every morning the view which opens my mind and heart than to be in a golden cage.
Excellent choice for a one night stay in Nafplion. Great location. We appreciated the suggestion offered by the staff at the reception to take the Nafplia Palace Hotel lift (at the end of the little street) to go up to the Clock Tower to watch thesunset above the sunset over the city. Fabulous.
Very clean, well-kept boutique hotel in the old town of Nafplio. Service and staff were exemplary. Our room has a good-size terrace with views over the rooftops toward Palmidi Fortress which was wonderful in the evening when temperatures cooled somewhat and the fortress was lit up.
The rooms are nice and comfortable, the shower is great! We loved the breakfast, the best we had so far in Greece! The hotel is at walkable distance to the port and if you want to take the car there is a bit parking spot near the sea so it's very easy to reach. Friendly staff.
Lovely little boutique hotel very close to the historic quarter of beautiful Nafplio. Decor gorgeous. Room tastefully furnished. Very funky TV hidden behind a grand mirror. Lovely toiletries. Courteous, friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely breakfast.
Things are magically simple really: a beautifully-designed boutique hotel, located in the heart of the old Nafplio town. Spacious rooms, comfortable bed & the most polite owners you've seen. Will definitely choose again for our next stay!
Hotel in superb central and quiet location directly at the sea promenade, nice and spacious room with wonderful panoramic views, good breakfast, ideal for a stay in marvellous Nafplio, certainly one of the most beautiful towns in Greece
Beautiful ambience. It was the definition of a luxury boutique hotel. A small relaxing treat much needed for our family of four. Both kids loved the spacious room and their comfortable beds.
The hotel is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, the location is very convenient if you want to stay close to Nafplion but not in the town.
