Bad option! The hotel is in a dangerous area (as informed by the taxi driver). Matresses were in a really bad condition.

Only stayed the one night so was hard to make a complete impression, the best thing for me though was the staff on check in. A lady who helped us was extremely friendly and helpful. We had to organise a connection to piraeus extremely early the next morning and she was more than helpful in ringing a few people finding times etc, a good thing, as our planned metro trip was out of action for the weekend. The price is great and it's not all that far a walk from omonoia and the metro stations in the area. The toilet in the bathroom was kinda disgusting, just a badly stained toilet bowl, but not the best thing to see in a hotel. The bath/shower set up is an odd one, no shower curtain, very awkward. The tv also features some pretty xxx rated television stations which seem to be awkward, no child lock. So be very wary if you were to have youngsters staying who flick through the channels. The area was a little bit suspect, but Im still alive, so it can't be that bad.

We spent one night at Filoxenia Hotel, since we wanted to see the most of Athens in 2 days for a minimum budget. The price was incredibly low for a hotel close to the city center and in high season. If you're looking for a place to stay close to the city centre, 3 minutes away from Victoria metro station, close to Omonia square, for a very small price, than Filoxenia might be ok. The staff was really nice and helpful, we were able to check-in at 9 am. The bathroom looked really bad, the air conditioning only worked as a fan and stopped after 1 minute. We slept with the window open but it was very noisy until 3 am. Breakfast consisted of bread, butter, jam, some cheese and ham (which I haven't tried cause it looked quite suspicious). There was some milk and some orange juice - both really terrible. Coffee was ok. And the area is quite scary. Many people of different ethnicities that stay up until late, drink a lot, smoke weed and who knows what else. Nothing happened to us on our way back to the hotel at night, but we were warned by some Greeks that it's pretty dangerous. So take care of your pockets and bags.

Very clean rooms and bathrooms, very good staff, clean towels everyday, wi-fi in the rooms sure, omonia is not the best place in the world to stay at, but all that people were not angry or have done anyth wrong to us - so it's ok) we've been returning home at 2-3 am and nothing wrong has happened. by the way, they dissappear from the streets at 4 am=)
