Location, quiet, some of the staff were really good
On arrival, no one was at the harbor to pick us up as agreed. We called their number and no one was answering. We tried calling two days earlier and still no one answered! We had to walk to the hotel and no one was at the receptions. We waited at least 45 minutes and no one had shown up! Then the owner came there on a bike and insisted that he was in the harbor waiting for us, though he knew nothing on the time we were arriving as he never answered our calls (and his pickup car was parked outside the hotel all the time we were waiting!) Anyhow then they had confused the booking and didn't have enough rooms (we booked 3 and they had 2) for us and he suggested another hotel nearby, which was of lower standards! We decided to stay in his hotel since we had children with us and could not split our families. He provided extra beds (camping beds), that we're very uncomfortable, and he charged us for 3 rooms instead of 2!!! The hotel was stinking inside! The bathrooms were tiny, and in one of the rooms the drain had a missing cover and as a result it was smelling bad. Air condition was running all the time and could not be disabled, so it was a bit uncomfortable for the children! Their balconies felt unsafe to step on with wood squeaking! On checkout they would not take credit card because they said their credit card machine was broken so we had to pay cash!
The location is fantastic practically opposite the beach, less than 5 min walk to main port, you have all bars and restaurants at your door step. The staff here were very friendly and always keen to assist you and see how you are going. The room was large, with great air con, t.v and small balcony, there was also a large mini fridge which was fantastic for summer. The rooms were very clean and cleaned daily. Basic furniture but very comfortable, overall great stay!
He was there to pick us up from the ferry at 2145 which was appreciated as we got up at 0330 that day for the flight to Athens then the boat to Paros. Room was clean if somewhat bare, balcony overlooked the pool and had some view of the beach. AC included which when you go from +16C to double that is a must. Quiet place - it turned out there weren't many guests. Paros was a stopover for us to Naxos, so we left after two nights, but the town & island deserve more so we'll go back. Met two of the brothers who own it, couldn't see the difference except maybe one was shorter while the taller was friendlier & more helpful. Not to far from the town square, closer to the beach & bakery!
The breakfast for €5 per person was thin from the coffee, to the cheese & ham slices with dryish bread to be covered by margarine. Not value for money unlike the room. The swimming pool could not be entered until 1100 for some reason, possibly because it needed to be cleaned of debris & insects. The pool area need tidying up too with cigarette ends, tins of paint, cleaning equipment left around. Place needs a bit of effort put in to bring it up to scratch & achieve its potential - limited though that may be! Didn't bother with brekky 2nd morning.
Hotel is in a good location, on a quiet street but very handy for sea-front and local tavernas. Room was clean and comfortable, with limited sea-views to the port and the beach.
Location is perfect. Nice and quiet, yet close to beach and plenty of restaurants. Staff is absolutely wonderful.
