The staff is amazing, specially Joanna, the touristic guide. The swimming pools are very nice and the prices at the restaurant are ok. It is a little bit tricky to get to the Hotel for the first time. The matress are too hard, but maybe it was only in my apartment.

The hotel is owned by a small family, who is all very kind to the guests. They made me think, that I would stay on this hotel another time. The cats. Im allergic. But they are all over grece. Other than that, nothing was wrong. It takes about 20 min. To walk to the city, bus the bus goes every 15 minute, and costs only 1,10 euros..

We really enjoyed the 2 swimming pools of the hotel and the fact that they have a cafe-restaurant available till quite late. Staff was really kind and helpfull. We didn't like the beds in our room. The matresses were possibly old and the beds were wooden, old, so we didn't have comfortable sleep.

We loved our say at Fridas. Our first time to crete, we thought we were lucky to have picked Fridas. We liked the distance it was located away from the buissier part of old town, but an enjoyable 20 min walk on the beach to get there. The owners and staff were terific, not to mention the good breakfast. We will highly recomend Fridas to any one. Style it has with the 2 pools and view.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff. Good location just outside the town, walking distance to the town center. Two nice swimming pools. Cosy rooms, with balcony / terrace. From our room nice view to the city and beach. Noise from other room could be heard easily, but it wasn´t loud. Rooms were a bit cold at nights (early May).

We chose Frida as we were looking for a hotel that had a lovely peaceful location, with a great view of the sea, but was still within walking distance of Chania Town, and for this it was absolutely perfect. It was also just a 20 / 25 minute stroll cross country to the lovely Golden Beach (which we found to be much nicer and less crowded than Nea Chora) so really couldn't have been more ideal. We really enjoyed walking in to the Old Town every night (which is a magical and very special place), but would say that it is more like 2 miles away taking about 25 minutes, so may not be ideal for those less able, although taxis and buses are available if you don't fancy the walk. The apartment complex was very well kept and the two swimming pool areas were wonderful with stunning views and lovely comfortable sun beds where you could always get a great spot as it was never over crowded. On many occasions we even had the whole pool to ourselves which was such a treat, and a rarity considering it was still technically 'high' season! Joanna was fantastic and looked after us very well, and on the odd occasion that we had lunch at the hotel, it was always fresh, plentiful and very tasty. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat that is close to town, has a great pool, and a lovely beach close by, then then this really is the ideal place to stay! For us, the only disappointment of our stay was that when we booked, we decided to splash out the extra for the 'Superior Studio' (which is their most expensive room and seems to be the only room which has a double bed), and specifically made a point of checking at the time of booking that it had a front facing sea view and was on the upper floor of the apartments. I even emailed the hotel directly too, and was assured that most rooms have a sea view and everything would be done to ensure that our room was as per our expectation. Disappointingly for us, when we arrived, we found that the Superior Studio room was on the ground floor (with a more limited view of the sea), no balcony, and although beautifully decorated, was a fairly small and dark room. I do think that this was more of a misunderstanding than anything, as it was on the higher grounds of the hotel complex, but lower floor of the apartment block, and just didn't have the 'elevated' sea view and balcony that we had hoped for. Joanna was great though, and moved us the next day without any question, to an upstairs apartment which was fairly basic but had amazing views. This however had two single, very hard and extremely uncomfortable beds that could not even be pushed together so we did not sleep particularly well all week. The beds seem to be something that many people have commented on, and in my opinion, upgrading them so that they are a/ more comfortable and b/ able to either push together or pull apart (making configuring the rooms much more flexible also), would be a small change to make, but one that would make an enormous difference to this otherwise wonderful hotel.

The Staff are lovely at Frida Apartments . It was clean. Had a healthy breakfast very nice resturant and chef and 2 very nice swimming pools. We didnt feel comfortable to walk the area at night to go for meals. We ended up hiring a car and that was great. The aircon could do with a service as it was very noisey .

The pool was great and so were the staff. We tried one of the restaurants a staff member recommended(in Stilos, a village nearby) and were not disappointed. The beds were very hard, ground-floor rooms have no view.

The staff are very friendly. The location, although hard to find at first, is good because it is close to the city but not in the city. It is fairly clean. They do have two pools. First of all, the beds were not very comfortable at all. My hubby who is a sailor said that it is worse than the bed he has in his ship. Second, the internet WiFi was horribly slow. Third, the rooms don't have telephones, so don't even think you can just call the reception desk. YOu have to climb up the hill where the reception desk is if you need anything. Fourth, I would not recommend paying for breakfast in advance. We paid for our breakfast for our whole stay there (6 days), and they serve the same thing every day, so we got tired of it. They also will not refund any missed breakfast even if you tell them in advance. Instead, they'll offer to pack you a breakfast "box" which consisted of bread, ham, cheese, cake, and butter and maramalade, which I think is not worth the 7 euros that you paid for. Fifth, this is probably a European thing, but attached to your key is a square thing which you insert in the room to turn on the electricity in your room. We asked for another key so that we can keep the electricity running while we were out so that hubby can recharge his computer while we were gone. Well, when housekeeping came, they turned off the electricity. So, you'd better let staff know if you are planning to do something like this. Sixth, the place is hard to find at first, so be forewarned. The best thing is to stop by "Cyclon Gas Station" located in Kissamou Rd just outside the city to ask for directions.
