- Historical Museum of Heraklion
Exhibits of early Christian, Byzantine, Medieval and recent Cretan history are presented in a very interesting way in this neoclassical building. The highlights among others are El Greco's Holy Mount Sinai painting, the city-model of Iraklion showing the 17th century character and personal objects of the world famous Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis.

Knossos is the most important archaeological site of Crete, the center of the Minoan Civilization of the 2nd millennium BC. It is the ancient city, where the Palace of the mythical King Minos is located.

Koules is one of the most important fortresses of the Mediterranean. Together with the city walls, the gates, the ramparts, it forms the impressive complex of the 16th century fortification of the city of Candia (as Heraklion was known during the Venetian era).

- Venetian Loggia
Elegant building for the gathering and recreation of the noblemen during the Venetian era. The Loggia is a typical example of the Palladian architecture. Today it is restored and serves as Heraklion's Town Hall.

It has been a fantastic stay. Hotel completely renovated, with style. And despite the central location (and the very noisy country...), the insonorisation was excellent. Exquisite personnel. I strongly recommend this hotel, without any hesitation. The quality of the work of cleaning personnel should be improved to reach the 5-star standard (they forgot to empty the garbage bin and to clean the mirror in the bathroom). But despite this, the stay in the hotel has been fantastic anyway. |

The bed is really comfortable. The reception desk should have told us that where to buy the bus tickets as there is no signage at the bus stop and we were embarrassed when we got on the bus. |

It was a short stay and had no hiccups. Very friendly staff and the rooms were nice. My wife is not fond of tight spaces and being in the tiny elevator made her uncomfortable. |

Very impressive hotel and very clean. The location is 20 minute walk from the city center and the port, were you can find great tavernas, shops and cafes. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. Wish we would have stayed longer than one night. |

The hotel was clean and well-decorated. A male front desk man was atrocious. He was ingratiatingly polite but then put my mother and me in a room with only a queen bed when I had just explained to him we wanted a double w/ two twins. Furthermore, both times for each new room, he made it sound like it was some kind of special "club suite" when it was clearly not a very good room. It stank of stale cigarette smoke and was located right next to traffic. My mother got about 1 hour of sleep. Oh yes and the bright flashes of light from the smoke detector right above our heads kept us both up as well. In consequence, we were exhausted from a sleepless night. The hotel looked nice but turned out to be terrible in almost every crucial aspect of an enjoyable hotel stay. |

The close proximity of all major historical locations, the ease of travelling to the best parts of Crete make this an ideal base to operate from. The hotel itself with its genuinely friendly and very helpful staff made this a superb holiday |

Nicely designed and clean room (recently renovated), nice bathroom, polite and helpful staff, good room facilities and service, relatively convenient location in the city. In general, the hotel is an excellent value for money. The general impression after we left was very positive. (We were also lucky to get a free upgrading to a suite-type room.) Minor issues: (1) The balcony of our room looked over the pool and the interior of the building, which was somewhat boring. (Other rooms possibly have a better view over the city.) (2) When we arrived in the room there was a subtle smell of humidity, which vanished in a minute or two after we opened the window, and never appeared again (possibly it was due to some temporary malfunctioning of the airco) |

Everything about this hotel was superb. Excellent breakfast buffet, welcoming and well-informed staff who appeared to truly enjoy thier jobs, luxurious little extras that made it all rather special for our 'challenging' group of 5 (kids + couple + senior) It was an excellent way to relax at the beginning of our holiday to Crete. If you need or want to stay in Heraklion, stay here. |

This hotel was unbelievable..one of the best I've stayed in...the hotel was new, clean, the staff was extremely courteous. We advised we were on our honeymoon and couldn't believe when we arrived to a suite, champagne, rose petals on our bed...the best! |
