We could not fault the staff, who were positively kind and did their utmost to prevent any worries about routes, car hire, faulty room safe and so on. The receptionsts were exemplary, the best ever encountered in a hotel. Dining staff were happy to explain the food and wines, security staff courteous and offered help.
Loved the hotel. Heraklion was a good base for seeing the island but not particularly interesting apart from the fantastic archaeological museum.
The staff were excellent and very helpful. When we required a doctor they organised one and even helped us get the required prescription from the chemist. The breakfast choice was great and everything was fresh. We ate the the restaurant a couple of time and found the food to be very good although we also tried the excellent Italian pizza restaurant next door where the pizza was one of the best I have tasted and the staff also great. The beds were comfortable and clean. I would recommend asking for a quiet room as some of the rooms can be noisy near the road. We were moved to a pool facing room which was great.
The Hamman is really just a small steam room so I wouldn't choose it if you want a proper hammam or spa. We tried the massage but the person only did light relaxing work so if you are looking for wither a sport massage or a remedial massage then try somewhere else.
-Staff&service (Dear Galaxy team, many thanks for everything!) -Food -Value for money The hotel is small and cozy, they did charming decorations before Christmas
Just perfect to stay there (end of November). This time you can get a very high value for your money. Don't know anything about what it costs in the summer... But, below 100 € per night it is definately worth it...
The service was impeccable from the lobby bellman/ parking valet to the knowledgeable and helpful front desk to the courteous room service. The breakfast buffet was great. We loved our stay and would gladly stay at the Galaxy again when in Iraklion.
Nothing. It was great.
We stayed for 2 one nights stays in October 2014. Quiet, comfortable beds, clean, well appointed. Included breakfast is absolutely outstanding. Staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. only a 15 minute walk to the archeological museum. highly recommend. Pizza place across the street is very good.
The staff were a highlight at the galaxy - exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was perhaps the best I have had in a hotel. A real 5 star experience.
Helpful staff at reception Excellent breakfast. The management of the dinning room was very efficient. No smoking rules were enforced Mattress in the room excellent The hotel is situated a10 minute walk from the centre of town
We had a room facing the main street which was a bit noisy because we sleep with an open window. If noise bothers you, ask for a room facing the swiming pool
Good hotel within walking distance of the Old Town Close to bus stop to go to the Palace of Knossos. We took the half board option offered by the hotel and thought it to be good value. Good breakfast. Concierge and reception staff helpful. The room was comfortable - a very pleasant stay.
I cannot remember anything negative about the hotel.
Good clean hotel. Friendly people
Staff was knowledgable and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with an abundance of choices. Room was quiet and comfortable.
Queen bed was 2 singles pushed together with separate bedding on each
The general atmosphere was one of relaxed sophistication at a price that you can afford. The rooms were spacious with adequate wardrobe facilities and a well equipped bathroom. A 10-15 stroll takes you down into the centre of Heraklion, close enough to be useful but far enough away to not cause any bother.
Our only negative point is that the service was a little on the slow side in the bar/restaurant but this was not to the point of rudeness, more I believe, so that you do not feel rushed.
great staff very friendly to children great restaurant
Had a pool and gym with runners that was easy to access . The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was good quality.
wifi was intermittent during peak periods. Smell of smoke on a non-smoking floor
Parking service. rooms. breakfast. stuf service
location, far from the center
Best breakfast ever. Large variety. Everything fresh.
No wi-if in room
Excellent hotel. Good efficient friendly staff. Comfy bed. Good air conditioning. The breakfast was first class.
Nothing really. The balcony is small. Not really for sitting on.
From the minute we walked in the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They saw that it was my birthday and arranged for an entire cake to be brought up to our room, compliments of the hotel. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in their lounge restaurant outside by the pool and had one of the best meals of our vacation. Most, if not all, of the food was locally sourced and deliciously prepared. The hotel even gave us a free bottle of local Cretan wine with the purchase of our meals. The waitstaff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful without being overbearing. We loved this hotel so much that we came back a few days later to enjoy lunch at the same restaurant. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
The hotel's location within the city was a little difficult to drive to, so I would suggest taking a taxi.
good facility, relative convenient location
room is small, not much space between the bed and wall
Breakfast buffet was excellent. Featured a table of local Cretan food and drinks. Pool was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Provided us with information about the city and places to eat. Happy hour featuring a free drink and snack was a nice surprise. No problem checking us in early.
Absolutely everything from location to food to the wonderful pool
Our room was not cleaned on 2 occasions although we were out most of the morning and only in our room for a mid-day siesta. There was plenty of time to do the room
Room was spacious and very clean. The shower and tub were amazing. The breakfast was the best we have had in 10 years at a hotel!!! The staff was very friendly and attentive and addressed every need we had.
We found some delicious Greek sweets and a bottle of red wine in our room. The staff was kind and the restaurant ( good also for vegetarians ) and is open till midnight, perfect if you are just arrived from the airport. Breakfast is huge and tasty and you can have it on a nice terrace around the swimming pool. The room are bigs and nice equipped. Outside the hotel there is a lovely and sweet cat !
