Golden Age Hotel  

Having stayed in five other hotels in the same immediate locality, this has been the best so far. As a female traveller there are the usual difficulties with male oriented hotel rooms - insufficient shelf space in the bathroom, hairdryer in the bathroom not bedroom, no angled mirrors in either bathroom or bedroom. Have suggested they might like to get tempura toppers for their mattress, which are very hard, but this was the same in all other hotels. However Golden Age reception thought this a good idea and would put it forward to management. Best breakfast and staff by a mile, put all the others to shame. Bravo

The Location is good for the congress at the Hilton I had to attend

Air-conditioning in the Room did not work - was constantly heating the room too an unbearably hot temperature. This meant the balcony door / window had to be opened to get any air, this made it hard to sleep with all the constant traffic noise. The bed was uncomfortable and was not a real double bed but the old two singles pushed together to resemble a double trick. The previous guest had urinated into the floor drain of the bathroom which made the whole room smell like a public toilet in an airport, especially nice with the a/c jammed on hot!! Thankfully I was able to use the shower head to "flush" the drain and get rid of the smell. The hot water to the shower was quite variable the shower temp constantly fluctuated while having a shower. The Bar charged me €6.50 for a small 330cl beer

This is a competent and clean hotel, with decent rooms and a nice breakfast. Staff is helpful and polite.

Location is quite crappy, the area is nothing to see and you will either get a room facing the noisy street or a back-side room facing some sort of geriatric hospital with a direct view into their facilities.

The staff was extremely curteous, helpful and kind. I especially liked that they all spoke English. The staff made me feel very welcome and as a female travelling alone, that was very important to me. Really nice hotel also.

The hotel was amazing and it looked much better than in the pictures! It is only a few minutes walk from the metro, and only two stops away from Syntagma. The staff was extremely friendly, they stored our luggage the last day and even printed our boarding passes. Everything was clean and new, the room spacious and well-lid with a nice balcony. The breakfast had a very big variety of food from dried fruit, warm food to feta and baklava! And for the low price we paid it was an excellent hotel!!!!

The hotel is very close to the metro station and central Athens great for site seeing.

Not much not to like, good value in a easy to get around location. Priced well.

Staff were polite as a general rule

Air con didnt work very well. Small rooms. Food was ok (just about!) Lifts didnt work very well. No coffee machine in the room. Limited facilities

Location, staff.

Lack of sound insulation. The room wasn' t very clean (dust) and breakfast is over priced. Poor choice of tv channels.

Very nice hotel and very helpful staff - thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay there again, though note price was particularly good on this occasion.
