Golden Bay  

Loved the fact that the hotel was directly on the beach and right next to several eateries and mini markets. The staff was very friendly and helpful with travel recommendations to local areas. Beautiful hotel appearance with nice pool.

Air conditioner did not work entire stay even after bringing it to attention of front desk several times (even during scheduled regulation times of operation)...and on our first night there were a few roaches scurrying across floor when lights were turned on.

it's right on a wonderful beach with plenty of sunbeds it is easy to access chania town the pool bar for it's friendliness and good service

no railings to hold onto on the external stairs this is a danger. no view from elow pool level apartments and no warmth in them from the sun so appartment was always cold hard pillows pool only has easy access steps into the children's section.

The location is very good near Chania with a nice beach, there is always taxis at 50m from the hotel if you need it. The staff is helpful; they do their best to please you. There is a mini market and a snack bar at the hotel and two supermarkets at 500m. The snack bar is really nice, great view, not too expensive. We had a superior studio which is really nice, with a balcony on the sea. We didn’t hear any noise from the other rooms and generally speaking the hotel is quite calm (it certainly depends on your dates).

The only major problem is the fact that you have to pay your sunbeds at the hotel’s beach. As a result, when the hotel is full all sunbeds at the swimming pool are “taken” from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. because nobody wants to pay the sunbeds at the beach which are, by the way, about 6€ for a couple of sunbeds. We really thought that’s not good managed from the hotel, I don’t think that they would lose a lot by “offering” the sunbeds at the beach to the hotel guests. On the contrary, it would avoid the displeasure to see that more than half of sunbeds are occupied by towels every morning when you wake up. Otherwise, there are only details and it will depend on your expectations like the wifi which is very,veeerrryyyyyy slowwwwwww.(often you should consider there is no wifi, would be better for your nerves). In our studio, two windows didn’t have curtains, so the light comes early, and there were no sunshade on the balcony so when you eat there, it could be too hot for some people.

Both swimming pool and beach are nice options to choose. Room was in good size to feel comfortable. Staff was so helpful to give tips about Crete

Kitchenette in the room can be improved by cleaning things.

Just back from 1 weeks stay at Golden Bay where we had a great holiday. The apartments are very clean and newly renovated. Golden Bay is a great choice for families as it is right on the beach - one of the best located hotels in Agii Apostoli. The beach is great for kids- clear water, not too deep and only small waves. The pool area is great too and there were plenty of sunlounges. The pool bar/cafe is beautifully located overlooking the ocean and do drinks, icecreams, snacks, lunches - but as we were so close to our apartment it was convenient for eating lunch. There is a minimarket too but close by are two larger cheaper supermarkets Lidl & INKA. Staff are friendly and helpful. Close to several restaurants. If you have kids it is close to JUMBO (the toy/clothes shop) and Golden bay funpark (minigolf, trampolines, cafe, bowling, rides etc..). Taxis are right outside and it costs 7-8 euros to go into Chania Town (Old town is nice in the evening).

Have very little negative to say about Golden Bay. Aircon- is regulated by hotel so turns off automatically at certain hours- but I didn't find it hot in the room. Reception is only manned at certain times but we had no reason to contact them so was not a drama- we checked out at 2.30 am as we had an early flight and it was no problem to pay the day before and leave the key in the room. We were a bit puzzled by the lack of dishwashing stuff- detergent, sponge, plug etc.. Am not sure what other guests did- if they left the dishes for the cleaner - but we bought cleaning stuff and the hotel gave us a little towel to dry dishes with.

Almost everything was perfect. The location, the beach, food and the staff was fantastic!

The aircondition where remoted by the hotel. That means that the hotel decided when the aircon was ON / OFF. At the nights they turned it off at 4 o`clock. The comfort got therefor a lower score from me because of this.

The closeness of the beach, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the place and swimming pool and closenmess to Chania

We were the only english people, or at least it felt that way with many Swedish, Finnish, Danish and German people

The hotel was extremely clean and the facility was top notch. I liked that it was directly on the beach, and within walking distance of three other beaches and many restaurants that served great food at great prices.

Very good location, just on the beach and 5min driving to Chania. Very convenient hotel, really value for money. Staff were very kind, nice to be welcome with drinks :). Supermarket and small Bar with snacks and drinks in the swiming pool.

Perfekt beliggenhet rett ved stranden.

Rommene i kjelleren var særdeles fuktige. Om man er astmatiker eller allergiker; styr unna!

For os den ultimative beliggenhed. Simpelhen en ferie man ikke ville hjem fra! Hotellet ligger smukt og fascinerende og du er lige der hvor du helst vil være; et komfortabelt komplex med dejlig modtagelse og service og så tæt på alt. Bjergene i baggrunden bidrager til udsigt 360 °. Vi er klar til flytte ind :O)

Linda vista da praia, que é bastante agradável. Quarto amplo, arejado e iluminado. O Hotel possui uma pequeno mercado, que é muito útil. O bar do hotel é muito bom. Internet rápida e estável. Equipe muito educada e agradável, especialmente a Katerine. Beautiful view of the beach, which is quite nice. Large room, bright and airy. We are a small market, which is very useful. The hotel bar is very good. Fast and stable internet. Staff very polite and pleasant, especially Katerine.

A piscina poderia ser aquecida. Os equipamentos da cozinha precisam de renovação, mas funcionam. A tv também merece troca. The pool could be heated. The kitchen equipment need updating, but they work. The TV also deserves exchange.

Hotellet var hur fräscht och hur fint som helst. Städningen en femma av fem.. Poolen var jätte fin, med en pool för de mindre barnen. En bra bar med dryck och mat emellan pool och strand. Nedanför baren en trapp ner till stranden som var fantastisk. Rent och snyggt på stranden som var långgrund. Några km till Chania, bara att ta bussen som gick utanför hotellet. Flera restauranger i närheten av hotellet. Ett toppenställe som vi verkligen kan tänka oss att åka till igen.

Det skulle vara sängarna på rummet i så fall. De var alldeles för hårda för oss nordbor. Har man problem med rygg eller dyl. är det inget vidare. Vi bad om extra madrasser och fick det, så vi kunde sova gott. Är man känslig för ljud hade vi ett kylskåp som förde mycket oljud.

Läget direkt vid havet var suveränt, trevligt poolområde, bra enkel poolbar/resturang...Trevlig personal...Bra resturanger i närheten...

Hotellsängarna var stenhårda och kuddarna små... Man bör även vara medveten om att Agia Apostoli är en "liten by" där det inte händer mkt. och vi saknade närheten till shopping och lite "kvällsliv". Blev en hel del taxiresor in till Chania och Platanias...

Tout!!!! L'hôtel est super, très bien entretenu avec accès direct à la plage. Le personnel est aux petits soins et nous a donné pleins de conseils pour les visites de la région. Il a plusieurs commerces à proximité (superette, lidl...) ainsi que de nombreux bars et resto. Il y a aussi plusieurs autres plages plus jolies les unes que les autres. Si on veut passer une semaine farniente plage c'est parfait!!!!

Le seul hic est peut être que le "spot" de l’hôtel est un peu excentré de chania (environ 10 km). Mais si on a une voiture, aucun problème surtout que l'on trouve de nombreux parking près de l'hotel.

Internettet fungerede kun 1 time på 14 dage på værelset, men ellers overalt, dog uendelig langsomt. Trapper overalt. Alt for få pladser ved poolen som var tæppebelagt fra tidlig morgen og hele dagen af samme familier, uanset om de var der eller ej.

η τοποθεσία του ξενοδοχείου ήταν πόλύ καλή καθώς και η παραλία.

Αυτό που δεν μου άρεσε ήταν η αδιαφορία των υπεύθυνων κατασκευής του ξενοδοχείου , οι οποίοι προκειμένου να δημιουργήσουν περισσότερά δωμάτια δημιούρησαν χωρίς τις απαραίτητες προδιαγραφές (εξαερισμού, μόνωσης από υγρασία,΄σίτες στα παράθυρα και τις΄πόρτες κ.λ.π) δωμάτια κάτω από την επιφάνεια του εδάφους.Αυτό είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα τα δωμάτια να μυρίζουν υγρασία. επίσης για άλλη μια φορά διαπίστωσα ότι οι αλλοδαποί τουρίστες είχαν΄'προνομιακή μεταχείρηση "στο κόστο διαμινής , από αυτή των Ελλήνων διότι η τιμή της "προσφοράς" δεν είχε μεγάλη διαφορά από εκείνη της αναγραφόμενης στην πόρτα

The apartment overlooked the sea, was spacious, and well-equipped. Swimming pool and beach were at the doorstep! Late check-out was possible, which was convenient for our flight back.

Golden Bay är ett suveränt hotell. Mycket trevlig och serviceminded personal som gör allt för att du ska trivas. Det är familjär stämning och det är trevliga byggnader med blomsterrabatter. Havet ligger ca 25 meter nedanför poolområdet - bara att gå ut i sanden eller att sätta sig i poolcafe´t och inta något gott samtidigt som man blickar ut över havet. Hotellets minimarket har det mesta - även svenska kex och chips samt kvällstidning. Hundra medter från hotellet finns busshållplats in till Chania och bra tavernor med god mat. Större livsmedelsbutik finns ca 500 m från hotellet. Hotellet har fri WiFi. Ger hotellet och personalen de allra bästa rekommendationerna!!

Det finns inte någonting med hotellet som inte är bra.

Hotellet var nyoppusset og hadde gjennomført en deilig stil mht farger og innredning. Hyggelig betjening og rommet vårt lå omtrent på stranden! Solstoler ved bassenget og på stranden til bruk for gjestene. Liten nærbutikk like rundt hjørnet. Lå i utkanten og hadde flott tilgang til turområde. restauranter i nærheten( gangavstand) og kort vei å kjøre inn til Chania by. Kan virkelig anbefales for deg som ønsker en stille syden ferie, men med muligheter for utflukter. Liten pool restaurant , der man kunne bestille seg helt enkle retter.

Ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia una settimana non è stato proprio il top. La struttura è molto carina ma I servizi lasciano molto a desiderare. Le pulizie non vengono sempre fatte e il cambio della biancheria è a giorni alterni e centellinata.L'aria condizionata è centralizzata e quindi non puoi decidere quando accerderla perchè lo fanno loro ad orari stabiliti quindi se hai caldo ti freghi.
