Athens Golden City Hotel

Hotel miał świetny stosunek jakości do ceny (50euro/2os. pokój z urozmaiconym śniadaniem).W zasięgu 20 minut piechotą znajdowały się wszystkie główne atrakcje Aten, łącznie z Akropolem.Dla bardziej leniwych 4 minuty do stacji metra, które dowozi także na lotnisko (z przesiadką) . W paru okolicznych uliczkach faktycznie znajdują się lokale z paniami świadczącycmi najstarszy zawód świata, ale do hotelu spokojnie da się dojść piechotą nawet późnym wieczorem bez problemów . Okolice regularnie patrolowane przez policję. NIe jest źle skoro w dniu naszego wyjazdu wprowadzał się autokar "biura pielgrzymkowego" spod Poznania :) . Na 8 piętrze restauracja z tarasem i widokiem na miasto. Polecam

Hotel naprawdę super godny polecenia. Jego zaleta jest to ze jest usytuowany w samym centrum.

Bardzo miła obsługa. Czyściutko. Bardzo duży wybór na śniadaniach. Lokalizacja dobra - wszędzie blisko, okolica taka jak w centrum każdego dużego miasta :) Polecam

Very helpful and very nice staff. 10 minutes walking from the hotel to Omonia Square subway station. Wonderful breakfast buffet.

Clean hotel close to city center. Room, though a bit small, was clean and nice. Good breakfast. Excellent value for price.

Wifi did not work. It should be checked more often by IT administrator. The carpet in the room should be changed, or properly cleaned.

Breakfast was plentiful and there was good variety. Room was clean, although there was no shower curtain for the shower (no tub), like many hotels in greece there is a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor. Proximity to Omonia metro is about 4 blocks. Proximity to Monastiraki metro is about a 15-20 min walk. Didn't try wireless. Had a storage room to keep our bags in for the rest of the day that we had checked out which was very helpful. AC worked, TV worked. We had a room facing the street on the 8th floor (below restaurant) and it was fine.

If you walked down certain streets near the hotel they were kind of sketchy, but I wouldn't call them dangerous like some posts say. Just stick to the main streets - Chalkokondyli to 3rd of Sept. Street noise is some what loud, but then again Athens streets are loud.

it was nice

Nice hotel in the city centre and locatated near the metro station Omonia. Rooms are clean and breakfast is ok.

Staff could be more friendly specially evening reception (specially after travelling around all Greece where all hotel staff where really nice and helpful). Good location but in an unsafe area. However we didn't have any problem and we could go anywhere at any time.

The breakfast. The only thing they need to be inproved is the fruit juice they offer that doest taste juice at all.

The shower room is so small. I am slim and still struggling turning inside the bath tub.

The hotel was comfortable and ideally located near Vathia square. We were very pleased with our stay there. Not too far to walk to the metro stations to get the train to the airport.

It was a little noisy during the night with traffic noise. Typical for Athens. Also the breakfast fruit juices were too thin and watery. Otherwise, the breakfast was good.

Me and my partner were very pleased with our stay. We were very pleased to speak to the receptionist, Mary was German, and she so helpful and competently. Such people like Mary I needed in my company.

Especially for Greece the breakfast is really recommendable, esp. if it is included in the room rate as it was for us. The rooms are OK in size and the bath room was very clean. I would always recommend to ask for upper floor rooms, if possible to the backside of the hotel because the street is quite loud.

The location is somewhat doubtful but we knew that before. However, you can easily get everywhere in the city and there are two metro stations nearby. So this should not be a reason not to stay in the hotel. The streets seemed safe to me although there were strange people around who just ignored us.
