A short walk from the Acropolis, 5-star Royal Olympic Hotel is centrally located by the Temple of Olympion Zeus. The luxurious rooms overlook Zeus’s Temple, or the swimming pool garden.
Score from 2121 reviews Very good
Centrally located in Syntagma Square in Athens, the Amalia Hotel is right across from the National Gardens. It features comfortable rooms with satellite and pay-per-view TV, and Wi-Fi internet access....
Score from 1974 reviews Excellent
With a great location in the center of Plaka, facing the Acropolis, this 5-star hotel offers personalized service, a beautiful rooftop pool and well-furnished rooms with a buffet breakfast included.
Score from 1047 reviews Excellent
This hotel has a prestigious location in the historic heart of Athens. It has 4-star facilities, excellent views of the Acropolis and Temple of Olympian Zeus, and fine cuisine.
Score from 802 reviews Excellent
-staff was good about letting me keep luggage there -location was very convenient to Acropolis, lots of little restaurants nearby
-asked for quiet and view ahead of time and in person but got a view of a wall, located right across from elevator. Was told nothing else was available even though it was dead of winter off season. As I was only staying one night I suspect it had more to do with that and that I wasn't spending enough $ with them. -noisy as windows and walls not insulated well -standard room was cramped
This was hands down the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to Greece!! It was walking distance to all the sites, shops and restaurants and the beds don't even get me started A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The staff was so great and super helpful they helped us navigate around the city and had a car ready and waiting for our very early morning departure to the airport. I honestly have nothing bad to say about Hera whatsoever. If you like horrible beds, bad staff and a crappy location then this is NOT the hotel for you!
Friendly and helpful staff . Location is within five to fifteen minute walk of many attractions and restaurants. Maid service was helpful and very thorough.
Slow Wi-Fi. Only two english speaking channels on tv. Rooms are small.
The place is very conveniently located if you wish to see the Acropolis museum. Its breakfast is fresh and well presented. One sleeps fairly well at the hotel.
We had to move due to a stated plumbing problem and were inconvenienced since there was no exact equivalent to the interconnecting rooms we had specifically requested and paid extra for. The shower head in our new bathroom was very leaky.
Very friendly staff Very good location Good value for the price I guess
Rooms are small Carpet on the floor old and almost dirty
Views of the Acropolis from the restaurant, delicious food, very good Buffet breakfast in a charming atrium, very helpful staff.
Soiled paper could not be flushed down the toilet but had to be put in a bin. Did not expect this in a 4 star hotel in Athens. Came across this arrangement many years ago in Elounda in Crete and frankly it put me off Greece ...until last Tuesday, not sure now if I will ever return.
Friendly staff, proximity of Acropolis, proximity of metro and restaurants and cafes.
Didn't try breakfast as seems really expensive at €15 per person.
Dinner at peacock bar was sensational. Great view and the waitress was fantastic.
Not being able to place paper in toilet bowl.
breakfast good, location great, beds good.
couldn't turn down the heat so we were too hot.
Location, hotel restaurant, breakfast, view of the Acropolis.
Very warm room, no air conditioning, very small room.
I consider this hotel of 10 mark because it offers a really good report between quality and price. This hotel is very wall situated in the touristic centre of Athens. You can just short walk to the main sites (Acropole, Plaka, Syntagma, Monasteraki). Also, the metro station Acropolis is near the hotel. Hotel's staff is very nice, polite, helpful. The rooms are not so small as described by others. Breakfast is rich and tastefull.
Fantastic location within walking distance to great shops and restaurants. It is literally just down the street from Akropoli metro station and the Acropolis museum. Lovely staff and extensive international breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Wifi was spotty at best
The hotel is very well located: close to the Acropolis, and of the main attractions of the site, as well as close to the Plaka region, which is full of restaurants and stores.
The internet connection has slow velocity, and sometimes it is impossibile to use it when the hotel is full.
The hotel is very close to all main attractions like Acropolis museum, national garden, temple of Zeus and so on. It's all walking distance. It's 100 metres away from the metro station. The lady receptionist was very helpful and friendly. It's very clean and well maintained.
location, free wifi, food at the rooftop restaurant was great (a little on the pricey side, but hey, it's a hotel). view of the acropolis from the restaurant at night is lovely
room and furniture was a little bit dated
Nice staff! They arranged early breakfast (5 am!) for all marathon runners in the hotel. Located right next to the Acropolis and close to other attractions. Several rooms have views of the Acropolis, which is nicely illuminated at night.
Elevator initially had some issues, which fortunately got fixed when we came back from the marathon. Airco did not cool very well.
very tasty breakfast smiling and helpful staff great location
same breakfast everyday wi-fi was disappointing, sometimes didn't work for hours and at best it was mediocre room was a little on the cold side in late autumn, heating can be improved carpets in the room looked dark with large stains, not a big issue but hard to ignore
It was my 6th stay at Hera. This time I used a car and the Hotel free parking was a Huge a huge advantage. The room (small this time) was nice and warm. Breakfast even improved and it was always great. The reception staff very warm and Professional. Hera still My number one hotel In Athens.
I did get a small room this time even as Hotel was near empty. I did not ask but an upgrade for a 6 time returning customer should have been offered.
We loved the comfort, comfortable bed, cleanliness, excellent location near everything but not on top of it, quiet, rooftop restaurant. A real boutique hotel.
Excellent location, close to Acropolis and Plaka. We had the junior suite with balcony on the sixth floor, and view of the Acropolis. There is a good restaurant on the roof floor overlooking the Acropolis, tasty food and very friendly staff. The hotel is a very good choice for a vacation in Athens.
The location is really very good, it is nearly 3 minutes to the metro station. Very close to Acropoli and you can walk to Plaka very easily. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby the hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Thank you all... The rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable. Wi-fi connection in the room is very good, we did not have any problems in the connection. We liked the hotel very much. If I come to Athens again, I will stay in Hera Hotel without any doubt. Thank you
Superior morning buffet. Excellent location just below the Acropolis. Pleasant restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood seems less frenetic than the large tourist areas to the north and northeast.
Friendly staff, good prices for the mini-bar, great location near Acropolis and a lot of shops and restaurants nearby.
Sometimes spots can be found on the floor carpets and cielings.
Location,amenities, beddings and service
Location, location, location! And the staff.. Definitely would stay again
