Hermes Hotel    

It's location is great, right opposite the fresh food market, and it's within walking distance of lots of restaurants and things to see. Fab central location. Free internet access in the rooms.

There are a lot of steps you have to take your luggage up to get into this hotel and no staff help you with your luggage, so although it's ok if you're young and fit, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for older people or anyone unable to carry stuff up lots of stairs. Our bathroom had a really strong stench of drains for the whole weekend we were there. Having to hand the key into reception every time you go out and then sometimes wait around at reception to get it back when you come back in. Lack of any toiletries in the room, I ran out of shampoo and had to use the hotels shower/hair liquid stuff, then spent the rent of the weekend looking like Worzel Gummidge, not a good look!

The hotel was ideally situated for our needs as we were going to our end of season party and wanted to go shopping in Town the following morning. We had read reviews of the hotel before booking and so were not surprised by the off hand receptionist who did not speak English but the lady the following morning was very pleasant.

Breakfast was poor for E7.00. Had we known we would not have paid at the time of booking and would have eaten elsewhere. It would be helpful if you would tell people the credit card holder needs to present their passport on arrival. I live in Corfu and did not have my passport with me and my resident's permit was not acceptable

Great value for money, right in central Corfu town 1 minute's walk from the square where all the buses depart from. However, it was really quiet although we did have a room facing an courtyard.

Excellent value for money hotel very well placed in the centre of Corfu, 2mins away from old town litterally! Hotel itself is in a nice old house (interiors are quite nice) renovated. Room is big enough, bathroom too, and well equiped (airco, TV, HIFI, fridge, hairdryer etc) everything working and the whole place has a classy feeling (opposite of cheap hotels you can find in many places) Would recommend it without hesitation. Staff very nice also.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. The rooms were very clean and well furnished, with good air con.

Didn't have the breakfast because €7 seemed a lot. You can get very cheap and good food very nearby. There is no hotel parking. It's just street parking out the front.

Very basic reception is up a flight of stairs, and there is no lift

The location was relly convenient - off a side street, close to the bus stop (from the airport) and a short walk to the hub of the Old Town. . The staff were very co-operative (despite the lack of smiles) and they let us have our room when we turned up at noon, rather than the 2pm stated. The rooms were clean and the fridge and air-conditioning very welcome, if somewhat noisy. I would stay again.

We had specifically asked for two rooms together as we were travelling with children. At first they gave us two rooms on different floors but they were able to change this after we pointed out our request.

Easy standard but nice and clean hotel. They bought baby bed especially for us, because we called and ask for it.

Cheap and well-located.

I selected Hermes Hotel due to the location and price, both of which were very good for what we needed - we were visiting Corfu Old Town for only two nights before moving on to explore other Ionian islands. If you need a clean, simple, sensibly priced hotel within 2 minutes walk of the main streets of the Old Town Hermes is a good option.

The location was perfect for our needs and the price was very good. The Staff are very helpful and the24hr reception is useful. the room was adequate with everything you need for a short break including a fridge to keep water and food cool. The air conditioning and shower were so welcome as Corfu Town was very hot on the day we stayed.

Nothing really, the hotel was great and we will stay again next year.

There is no Wi Fi throughout the hotel as stated. the hard wire in my room did not work The rooms are adequate but tired. Breakfast was not ready when i went down at 08.15.

Very lousy service, nothing is as it has to be and expectations won't be met at all. Don't trust what is written - you won't find parking, you might not have water in the room and customer treatment is brutal, so if you want to get pissed, this is the proper place...

there was no water pressure in the bathroom and I was left with soap all over my body due to this fact. When calling reception, the manager told me that I have to wait until water is OK and it will come in couple of hours. When I asked him shall I wait under the shower with a soap on, he was brutal and said "yes, of course" and started cursing me and saying he is not guilty, but the municipality is guilty. I reminded him I am his customer and he said he doesn't care and his tone of voice and words were rude and out of any code of conduct. On top Internet was not working and I had to use wireless from another nearby spot, lamp in the bathroom was not functioning as well as lamp near the bed, used for reading. Moreover in the reservation it was mentioned there is a public parking and no reservation necessary and coming on spot it was not the case. When I asked the hotel hostess told me "It is very difficult to find parking space in Korfu town". Very nice and helpful. When I asked where can I park, she said - wherever you find places, but maybe your car will be lifted by the municipality, so it's hard...
