The staff were superb. We were in Athens on the day of a major strike/protest demonstration. The guest relations person who is available in the breakfast room every morning, helped guests plan their day so as to avoid any problems. Rooms were very clean with adequate space. Tea and coffee is available in the lobby all day. Breakfast is plentiful with good choices. Front desk people were kind and helpful. The hotel doesn't have a rooftop view of the Acropolis, but their sister hotel, the Plaka, does and one can access their rooftop and bar. Perhaps because they don't have this facility, the hotel tries harder in other ways.

The staff was very helpful when I arrived there with no cash after being pick pocketed. They did everything they could to help me out including loaning me some cash, getting me some unused tickets to the acropolis, and helping with some initial free computer time. The hotel is in an excellent location to explore the Plaka area, and it was just a short walk to all the major sights.

One of the best services at this hotel is the very pleasant, multi- lingual person who is in the breakfast room. She talks to every one and answers questions that you might ordinarily have to wait at the front desk to ask about almost anything which is very helpful these days when Athens is having constant strikes and protests in that area. The location is right in the center on a quiet street so there is minimal street noise and you can walk anywhere or take the Metro easily. Too bad the WiFi is not free.

The staff were very friendly and also pleased we could speak a bit of their language. Rooms very clean with a nice balcony and good shower. We had a triple room which was not at all cramped. Breakfast was nice. Location perfect between Plaka and Syntagma. Would definitely stay there again.

Pleasant and clean and good breakfast. Great location for sights and eating in the streets around the hotel. They have a complicated charge for internet after the first twenty five minutes, which seems odd as everywhere else it was free in Greek bars- cafes and hotels

Centrally located close to Syntagma Square/shops, about 5 mins walk. Many restaurants nearby. We took a tripple room which has simple, modern look and feel room. Comfortable beds, clean and quite. Given the price compare to other hotels around, I really enjoy the hotel. One female staff was kind enough to talk to all guests during breakfast to ensure all were satisfied and answered their inquiries on places around Athens. Very appreciated gesture. The lift is small

We had a great stay at the Hermes Hotel - the common areas were nicely decorated in a contemporary style and the rooms - although small - were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Best of all, the hotel staff was warm and welcoming. We especially appreciated the help we received regarding restaurants and other places of interest from Angela, the guest relations representative. We will stay at the Hermes Hotel again!

The staff hospitality as well as the hotel location are a big plus for this hotel. Also the cleanness and the quality/price ratio were very good. Although being located right in the heart of Plaka, with its noisy streets, my room was perfectly quiet with good noise insulation. I would only point out one minor issue which is that the room cleaning personel should sometimes pay more caution in no chatting that much while they are performing their work, because although some rooms are already free and ready for cleaning and maintenance, on the rooms next door there may still be guests needing to rest from a tiring journey or even a hard night before.

The hotel is very well located so most attractions (Acropolis, Ancient Agora, etc.) can be done on foot. The best feature of the hotel is surely the friendly and helpfull staff. Besides that, it is relatively modern and well kept. I surely recommend to anybody. The rooms are relatively small but again acceptable given all the other features.

Extremely nice and helpful personnel. Excellent bedding. Bathrooms very small but quite ingeniously organised. The location was optimal for us in a walking distance of everything, in a safe area.

I liked the location and its helpful staff very much. I liked the fact that there was coffee/tea and biscuit service every day at the lobby - which you don't see anywhere else around the world. The hotel and toilets were very clean - which is a must. A strong recommendation from my side. I didn't like the fact that the balcony was very, very small and the roof view was a negative.

The best thing about Hermes Hotel is its location: close to all the main attractions, stations and more importantly in a very safe area of Athens. It was a short walking distance to so many places yet quiet enough to be able to enjoy a good night's sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful and tried to assist us as much as possible, even preparing a breakfast spread for 14 at 5 in the morning. The one thing we didn't like about Hermes Hotel was the fact that there were no kettles in the rooms. Apart from that, we couldn't have chosen a better location for a 2-night stay in Athens.
