We had a great stay at this hotel and the view of Plakias beach from the balcony was very beatiful. The hotel staff was very helpful. Very good breakfast,clean room and near the beach. If you go to Plakias take this hotel you will not regret.

Everything was perfect. A nice hotel with a fantastic seaview. The rooms are new and very clean, the breakfast for greek standard very good. The owner and his wife are very friendly people. We will come back when we stay again in Plakias.

My wife, two kids (ages 10 and 12), and I just returned from an amazing vacation to Crete. Our stay at this hotel added to the wonderful time we had. We prefer to stay in quiet areas, away from the bustling resorts, but within reasonable travel distances to sightseeing and adventure areas. Plakias, Greece and the Horizon Beach Hotel fit this preference. The owners were wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We needed an early morning checkout and they allowed us to pay the evening prior. They even arranged breakfast preparations an hour earlier in order to allow us the opportunity to have something to eat before we departed! The daily breakfast was wonderful. Greek yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, olives, cucumbers, cereal, tea (Earl Grey and green), coffee, and some bread/cake selections. You could order an egg and bacon (note that it was more like Canadian bacon, just not fried crispy). There was indoor/outdoor seating and the view was lovely. The town of Plakias was within easy walking distance from the hotel. There are numerous tavernas to choose from and also a few markets/grocers that sell groceries and other sundry items.

Good location of the hotel with the beautiful sea view. Very quiet in the night but still located close to Plakias centre (2 minutes walk). Very pleasant staff (family hotel) and very good breakfast in the hotel garden. After reading different reviews we were expecting separate charge for air-condition but it looks like they actually are reading the reviews from hotel guests so there was no additional charge for it. Hotel was completely renovated recently. Very good value for money and would definitely recommend it to those who like to avoid mass tourism as Plakias is a very small town but with all necessary infrastructure (ATM's, restaurants,... Etc.) and Horizon Beach hotel is a great place to be accommodated whether you prefer just lying on the beach or driving around and discovering Crete. We were first time in Crete and in Horizon Beach and are definitely coming back next year. No objections

Slightly out of town yet within walking distance. Breakfast in pleasant garden. Balcony with sea views. Beach below hotel. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. No mosquitoes in July/August.

Nice quiet location, pebble beach right in front of the hotel. Very nice sea view and sea sound. Recently refurbished rooms and facilities. In overall - very nice hotel! Rooms were cleaned, but not thoroughly enough, during the stay.

The owner of the hotel was so helpful. He stayed up until midnight to meet us. He gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner in the village. He provided us with a map of the walks in the Plakias area. Finally, he helped us when our car broke down the day of our departure- drove my husband to attempt to start it again, called the rental agency for us, etc.

Marvellous sea views around Plakias bay from our balcony. Just placed off the Souda beach road but traffic not invasive, the sea was more noisy! 10 mins easy walk to harbour, lots of restaurants and supermarkets if self catering. Extremely clean and well presented rooms, recent modern facelift to facilities. Good clean showers and loos (very un-greek!). Good breakfast spreads in bright sea view room/patio. Good touring base. Would definately stay again.

schöne lage, am ortsrand, ruhig aber zentral, zimmer heben schöne terrassen mit meerblick, außerdem gibt es 2 große terrassen mit sonnenliegen für alle gäste, netter frühstücksgarten, früstück für griechische verhältnisse gut, wirtin ist deutsche, sodass es kein verständigungsproblem gibt, freundliche menschen, gutes preis-leistungs-verhältnis uns hat es rundherum gut gefallen, wir hatten nichts zum meckern.....

Das Hotel und seine Einrichtung ist eher untypisch für Griechenland: Nichts ist repariert oder defekt. Dusche und Armaturen funktionieren wie zu Hause, nichts wackelt, die Betten sind genau richtig. Auch morgens beim Frühstück: ob Müslischale oder Teebecher - alles da, alles in der richtigen Größe. Leckeres Brot, Feta, Tomaten und Eier nach Wunsch und frisch gebacken. Nachdem wir nun 14 Tage über die Insel gereist sind, fanden wir in der Summe vergleichbares lediglich in zwei 5* Anlagen an der Nordküste

Très bien placé, tout proche du centre ville de Plakias belle vue sur la mer du balcon Pas d'eau chaude avant 8h (apparemment pratique fréquente car nous avons eu le même souci ailleurs, pas terrible pour partir en randonnée le matin de bonne heure pour la douche chaude !

Séjour très agréable directement au bord de la mer. Le personnel très accueillant même si vous ne parlez pas la langue ni l'anglais (ou très peu). L'emplacement de l'hôtel est pratique car vous pouvez aller en ville à pieds.

אהבנו את המיקום המעולה, על יד הים והעיירה אך שקט ורגוע.נקי ,אסטטי ,ונעים. גם בחדרים וגם בכלל במעטפת.נוף מרהיב לים. כדאי להזמין גם ארוחת בוקר.(5יורו לאיש) מפנקת ומוגשת במרפסת קסומה.תחושה של בית.משם ניתן לצאת ברכב לכל מקום על פני האי. פלקסיה מתוירת אך לא ממוסחרת.וכייף

“A very welcoming family, we stayed in appartment 5 which was by a small river. From the roof terrace we had a lovely view across the bay and we spent much of our time using the nice and comfortable wooden sundeds. The room was cleaned every 2nd day and had all the facilities we could need, lovely quiet location downtown Plakias village. Great choice of local beaches with crystal clear waters fantastic for snorkelling. Would truly recommend Anna Plakias Apartments and would hope to visit again one day. PS: try to visit the non-profit gallery, which is next door to Anna Plakias Apartments, and it is run by retired British expats living in Plakias. The books (which number in thousands) are all donations. Many tourists use the library for free, and most of the books are in English and German.” Rachel, London |
