Hotel Alkyon  

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We missed our ferry so arrived a day late and they were there to meet us at the ferry port. The hotel is well located to see all of Syros and the bus network is very well run to get around the island. The hotel staff were so helpful in telling us times of buses, as well as recommending where we should visit. They also helped to arrange car hire. I have never stayed anywhere where staff were so helpful. The food was also delicious and we returned for dinner on the second night, and the ambience was delightful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and we had a beautiful sea view from the room, and the pool was wonderful to relax by. This was a perfect start to our holiday in the Greek islands, and Syros was a real treasure.

This hotel is everything we expected and more.  We read the reviews and were very impressed by what people were saying , so we booked a nine day vacation.  This hotel was impeccably clean throughout.  Whether  you are in the lobby, your guest room, dining area or pool deck, you quickly come to realize that this family run hotel is immaculate in every way. There is a quaint and beautiful dining area overlooking the sea, which had a wide variety of menu items including  local specialties.  Like everything else, the food quality was excellent, featuring great taste and presentation; all at very reasonable prices. Our hosts Jack and Katherine worked tirelessly to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of.  It was like being at home.  We highly recommend this hotel and we will return to enjoy Jack and Katherine's superb hospitality. Hotel Alkyon is a gemstone in the crown of Syros, and a tribute to Greek tourism. Having read positive recommendations of this hotel online, I booked this as part of a honeymoon trip to the Greek Islands, looking for peace and tranquility as well as hospitality. And from the moment that we arrived, I have to say we were not disappointed. This very kind and friendly family run a truly charming hotel that deserves all its plaudits. It's very peaceful and private, with a spectacular view of the sea from the hillside setting. Jacques and Catherine, the owners of the Alkyon, are very warm and open and relaxed. There's definitely a very social, yet unintrusive atmosphere, and Jacques and Catherine are very generous with their time. It felt as if all our cares and woes were spirited away in the night as we woke in our room, then went for a dip in the quiet pool, followed by leisurely moments reading in the warmth of the Syros sun. Highly, highly recommended!

Situation dominante, au calme ,sous les bougainvillées, avec vue sur la mer et très belle piscine pour cet hotel familial extrêmement bien tenu. Ici les mots accueil , service, chaleur humaine prennent tout leur sens . Tout concourt àu plaisir du moment ....C'est une très bonne maison,comme on les aime!

Catherine (française) et son mari Jacques sont d'une gentillesse peu commune, l'accueil est tout simplement excellent: La piscine de 25 m est exceptionnelle, la vue sur la mer superbe, l'hôtel magnifique, les repas délicieux !

The couple who run this hotel are amazing! So hospitable, so kind and welcoming. They make you feel like you are family and the wife is the best cook in the world.

Excellet accueil, personnel très aimable et serviable, patrons très sympathiques. Environnement très calme. Chambre trop petite, pas de possibilité de faire un courant d'air, mais évidemment air conditonné. Horaire des repas très largement mesuré; possibilité d'y déroger

L cuisine n'est pas excellente, bien que le choix des plats soit abondant. Il faut pratiquement disposer d'une voiture (de location) pour aller à la mer.
