The younger staff at Rio Athens were very friendly and helpful, making effort to help us print, fax and copy documents without any charge. Nothing is too much for them. There was no soap in the bathroom, and the toilet stopped flushingon our second night. Also, there were no cups or kettle for drinking and boiling water.

It is close to Karaiskaki square. The person at the reception was very friendly and fairly helpful. The rooms are a bit dark and not very welcoming. Seems like they have been built for whole families ( in our "double" there were beds for 5). We stayed for a night and it was perfectly fine but I would not recommend it for longer than 3 nights.

The Hotel Rio was perfect for our needs. We are all avid walkers so didn't mind the 30min hike to the center of Athens. You can take the metro as well as it is just around the corner from the hotel. The hotel staff made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Especially Marco and Litza who were there for our every need. Day trips can be booked through the hotel also. The hotel is older and the rooms a bit small but we managed. Ask for the hair dryer at the front desk. There are lots of great little restaurants in the area. We felt safe walking in the area even at night. We would all recommend the Hotel Rio.

Helpfull staff - they also printed out my electroonic flight ticket. Breakfast OK. Hotel in good condition (compared to the rest of Athens). Rather loud environment. Could hear traffic noise even at my room at the backside of the hotel. They charged 30EUR from my credit card after booking the hotel. In 7 days two times there was no room cleaning.

Nice and quiet hotel. Loved that hotel is not in a main tourist area. Although most reviews say its in not so good location (even locals said, its not the best area, but we didn't find any trouble), I would say that location is great. Everything seems to be just a little walk away. Loved that Gkazi area was really close by and taxi back to hotel was rather cheap. Maybe not the best hotel for families but definitely good one for young adventurous people. We are a gay couple and are really happy with our hotel choice. As read from some reviews, we got twin room instead of double room as booked. Apart from that everything was nice.

It is situated at a very quiet area even though it is very near to the Metaxourgeio Metro Station (3min walk). The plumbing was quite old and needed repair. We would highly recomment a renovation of the hotel in general.

(Ami elnyerte volna) A műanyag lapka nem ment be a zárba. Szobát kellett cserélni. Világítóudvarra néző, kisablakosat kaptunk. Aztán ott is voltak gondok a "kulccsal". A recepcióst kellett hívogatni. A szobában még egy pohár sem volt! A reggeli katasztrófa!!!

“Every step I met in there was just like a big family! I love them all ;) What a lovely greek hospitality! Some people might say the place is not very good and dangerous, but hey it's not that bad! ( I also stayed near omonia square, little suspicious though, it's interesting just watching! haha) I love greece so much even I couldn't properly use public transportation when I need! If I could visit Athen again ( definitely will do!) I will choose this hotel again!” Sui, Seoul |
