Hotel Ideon  

The Ideon is a quiet, well run small family hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the owners could not have been more helpful and friendly in going out of their way to make ones stay pleasant. The family which runs this hotel are resourceful and accomodating to the guest's needs. It's located roughly midway between the beach outside of the Old Town of Chania and the Old Town itself, convenient to both destinations. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I recommend it very highly.

The owners of the hotel - two brothers are very friendly, tolerant and ready to assist you at any moment. Taxi, where to go, when to go - they know the answers. The roof top garden-bar is very homey and you can always join other tourists in the evening there and discuss the highlights of your day and maybe have some raki. Location is tricky from the beginning, until you remember your routes:) The hotel is located in residential area, which I liked. You can see some Greek family making dinner or hear somebody singing in a kitchen... It is also close to the beach. The beach itself is not that great and clean, but still and there are some tavernas close to the beach. The Venetian town is not far too. I also liked when they sent me an e-mail asking when I'm planing to arrive - makes you feel like somebody's waiting for you even in a foreign country.

Water flow in some of the washrooms is not strong enough, bathrooms are pretty old in general and have only shower cabins with a curtain - water goes on the floor. Hotel amenities are not luxurious, but if you are not picky good for the price you pay.

The staff and the location

Meget venligt og hjælpsomt personale. Det ligger i gåafstand fra den store by med den gamle og nye bydel. Lige i nærheden af strandpromenaden med mange restauranter. Hotellet er lidt gammelt og der er meget lydt, det ligger lige midt mellem beboelses ejendomme . Nogle af madrasserne er ret hårde. Men stadig good value for money.

Very friendly staff and the location was superb very close to the old city and just 200m from the beach. We enjoyed the breakfast in the roof terrace

It would benefit from a refurbishment

accueil sympathique petit déjeuner sur la terrasse du toit.emplacement idéal pour visiter la vieille ville car à 5 minutes des remparts sans problème de stationnement et également à 5 minutes de la plage .très calme pour un centre ville

io mi sono trovato bene anche perche' il proprietario e' una persona molto affabile e disponibile, lo consiglio per una vacanza tranquilla

die freundliche und familiäre Atmosphäre

Prima hotel, wel vrij kleine kamers. Uitstekende ligging. Dicht bij strand én dicht bij de haven. Alles op loopafstand. Eigenaar is bijzonder vriendelijk en servicegericht. Toen de taxi's op 9 september staakten en wij naar de luchthaven moesten, heeft hij ons naar het busstation gebracht. Hij beloofde ons helemaal naar het vliegveld te brengen, als wij niet met de bus mee hadden gekund. Dit laatste was gelukkig niet nodig.

Schimmel im Bad sogar und das zimmer war ein ehemaliges raucherzimmer, das hat man moch gerochen.

Die Besitzer des Hotels, sehr nett sympathische Leute! Weiters die ruhige Lage meines Zimmers, das Meeresrauschen von der Ferne und die Zikadenrufe.

Frühstück wäre nett wenn es griechisch wäre und ein bisschen abwechslungsreicher....

Proximité du centre ancien de la ville

Accueil désagréable justifiant la mauvaise prestation par le fait qu'on avait obtenu un prix préférentiel par Booking ; chambre la plus mauvaise (rez de chaussée sur rue, salle de bains vêtuste), petit- déjeuner médiocre
