Ionas Hotel  

A small, elegant and modern hotel in the old town district of Chania.

Excellent facilities and very helpful staff.Only problem was finding it .Suggest they advise that it is 50m from the Well Of The Turk

The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated - we loved the jacuzzi in the bathroom. The roof terrace was a real bonus as well as the pretty courtyard. The hotel is fairly small and boutique in style. There is no bar or restaurant, but this was no problem. Breakfast was a perfectly adequate self service selection of croisants, breads, cereals, cheese, ham, eggs ect.. The location couldn't have been better - it was really quiet at night, yet only a minute's walk from fabulous restaurants and bars in the adjacent street, 5 mins from the harbour and 15 mins walk from beaches. An excellent delicatescent was right on the doorstep. The staff were very helpful and freindly. If I went back to Chania I would return to this hotel withouth a doubt.

There was nothing negative about our stay.

It was quiet, clean, and walking distance to the bus depot, beaches, the ports, restaurants and shopping, good breakfast

This is a charming though idiosyncratic hotel, we liked the personal welcome and size of the hotel - appeals to more discriminating customers rather then the 'sun & sand' set. Well situated, near restaurants and amenities, but relatively quiet in comparison to other central areas of Hania. Quality of Decor and fitments - superb - but see below. Charm and helpfulness of reception.

No major complaints at all but a little more attention to detail and some thought about the experience of actually living in the rooms would raise the level of the hotel even higher. The decor whilst of the highest quality and tastefulness is not always as practical as it could be. For instance lack of hooks to hang things on - towel rails in bathrooms not adequate for 2 persons, little or no provision for personal toiletries/ space/shelves to put things on in bathroom and shower cubicle distracts from the overall experience and quality. Inadequate provision for keeping out light - particularly as summer dawns are so early. The service, though endearing, is a bit 'hit & miss' very well cleaned but objects (glasses/towels etc) not always replaced after collection - items left from previous occupants - just needs some system for checking from the management- a list perhaps of what is to be done - would be of help to the always obliging staff. Would never-the- less strongly recommend.

A friendly little hotel in a pretty part of town away from the main tourist area of Xania but only a few streets from the harbour area. We were very glad that we were no nearer the harbour. Very good location.Helpful staff.Fairly hands-off style, but the staff were very helpful and welcoming and provided all the help we needed. We would certainly stay there again.

Breakfast could be a bit more exciting

Very friendly staff, got a bigger room than we had booked, which was amazing. Nice cosy design and very good beds. The hotel was situated nicely in the old town.

Very friendly staff, owner waited up personally to let us in (our flight was late) at eleven p.m. Lovely room, wonderful breakfast.

Lo stile dell'albergo è molto bello e tutto è nuovo

Non c'è quasi mai nessuno dello staff in albergo, se hai bisogno si deve telefonare. Le camere ed il prezzo sono solo per camera doppia, e sono abbastanza piccole. La colazione viene servita a partire dalle 8

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel en septembre et avons été enchanté par le séjour. L'endroit est des plus romantiques, très calme alors que nous étions à deux minutes des boutiques d'Hania et lieux de sortie. Nous étions dans un "palais vénitien" ; confort, propreté et charme assurés. Photos conformes à la réalité. Parfait.

Difficile de se garer, demander aux habitants pour trouver l'hôtel car il n'est pas facile à trouver (petites rues).

Très calme en plein centre ville Très beaux meubles, rampes, fenêtres récents en bois doré Air conditionné,jacuzzi,serrures électroniques modernes et très fonctionnels Terrasse abritée très, très agréable

Personnel très sympatique, très bonne situation (bien que difficile à trouver), très calme malgré la grande proximité du port et de la vieille ville, chouette décoration des chambres. Propreté impeccable. Nous voyagions avec un bébé et le personnel a été adorable avec elle.

Climatisation bruyante. Difficulté à trouver l'hôtel à l'arrivée (il est situé à l'angle de la rue sorvolou et de la rue kallinikou sarpaki, mais notre chauffeur de taxi ne nous a pas du tout conduit au bon endroit car la kallinikou sarpaki est en plusieurs tronçons et piétonnière).
