In the heart of Athens, this modern hotel offers soundproofed rooms with free wired internet and flat-screen TVs. It is one mile from the Acropolis.
Score from 232 reviews Very good
Ideally located close to the Acropolis and Plaka, Acropolis Select combines comfort and convenience for a great value base in Athens, just 55 yards from the metro.
Score from 771 reviews Very good
I really like the hotel, which was really nice. The room was nice and the bathroom really clean. The location is really good. U have the metro next to the hotel. It is a short distance to Acropole, either take metro or a taxi. If u are 3 people it s convenient the taxi. I felt really good. If you want to have a nice location and a clean hotel, you can choose this one.
It was noisy the road next by. But if you are lucky you can face aside of the road and it's much better. I did not like that stuff smoked in the lobby and you can feel the smell there. They should be more careful with smoking in the lobby. It's not good for customers at all.
- wifi not accessible at 4 floor, and receptionist acted as if she "simpy" didn't know the code/password ("try this one, try this other one, try another word, try later tonight") - the room, which was booked in advance, was not yet ready/available at 7 p.m. I had to wait 30 minutes in reception (at evening) before the pre-booked room was ready
Convenient location, close to tram and metro. Large room. Some original furniture! Round bed, large fake-baroque mirror with golden frame, ...
Big street with heavy traffic outside. Third floor was quite ok but lower floors must be very noisy. Low-quality breakfast. There's no buffet. They serve a hot dish: a 4-egg omelette drowned in oil or things like that.
The staff was friendly and the metro and tram stations are right outside.
Traffic noise and cigarette smoke everywhere, also in the breakfast room, were disturbing. The rooms were decorated in a very special style - a must-see in a way, but not comfortable. Apparently in most rooms, some of the equipment did not work (tv in my case). Also the promised pool was out of order during the entire week of our stay. The staff insisted on payment on arrival.
Position. Courtesy. Genuine attitude from the staff. Globalization did not denaturate this place yet.
Cigarette flavor diffusing everywhere from the reception through the air conditioning system. Swimming pool out of order. Weird "corner bathroom" experience, could get on someone's nerves.
Reception staff very friendly
The wifi wasn't working in our room, we had to sit in the hall outside to get the network. Reported this to hotel twice but still didn't work. Avoid room 404 if planning to use wifi on business etc..
Kind and obliging staff members, who also didn't mind how many times we called them to change the room temperature (I'm still surprised we had to do this...). The location is in a safe neighbourhood, with very nice cafeterias and the Athens metro just across the street (metro stop N. Kosmos is just 2 stops from the Acropolis and 3 from Syntagma square).
We were not allowed access to climate control; offensive smell coming from the airco; smoking silently allowed everywhere in the hotel; not suitable for stays longer than one night; the blankets and bathroom could use a thorough clean. Finding this hotel on booking.com raised our expectation for quality services and for a stay which was longer than that of a day-use client. At its current state, this hotel is sadly not suitable for longer stays than that.
Staff doesn't speak english, room was very small, cleanless not perfect. There is no minibar, no restourant. Let's say thw hotel is ''basic''... Air conditioned is very stroong and, giving the room, the staff advice that to swith on or off the a.c. it's necessary to call the desk! ??????
This hotel hawe wery polite and helpful staff.
They do t speak wery good english.
