Very friendly and helpful staff who spoke excellent English. Sophisticated Northern Greek style decor. Very good breakfast - and plenty of it. Hotel is right in the castle so perfectly positioned for sightseeing, boats to the island and many shops and restaurants. Parking easy right outside the hotel and very quiet at night.

We were within the castle walls, in the citadel. We received a permit for free parking next to our very nice questhouse. The rooms on the first floor are bigger than the ground floor. Snow on the tops of the mountains which surround the beautiful lake. 2 minutes walk to the old fort. Beautiful view. Excellent breakfast.

The hotel is situated within the fortress, very close to the town centre and the lake Pamvots. Within a couple of minutes walking distance you could get a boat to the Nisi iland. The sfaff were very friendly and gave us valuable information about how to get to different sightseeing places and facilites. Room, though small, was clean and tidy and really cute with those flower-sprinkled blinds and as we only slept there it was more than enough. Breakfast was ok - hearty let's say. We do recommend it . N.B. If you are travelling by car, have in mind the following: as the hotel is situated within the fortress walls you need to enter inside, depsite the signs that forbid this. (All greek cars do that) Once you get to the hotel you will be given a permission pass for the car, so that are not any problems (though no policemen were ever present there during our stay).

Beautifully decorated rooms, very clean, hot water 24/7, great location near the lake and close to many cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. The staff was very friendly and eager to answer all our questions.

It's a very good and pleasant hotel and we liked very much our stay there. The hotel is inside the walls of the old city, very close to the boats that takes you to the island and on the other side to the shops and other activities. You can enter inside the walls at any entry despite the no entry road sign. The owners are very kind.

We recommend them to enrich their breakfasts and enlarge the dining room.

Its location within the old city walls of Ioannina, and its design in keeping with the traditional architecture of the city.

the hotel is a little big hard to find and breakfast was a little bit small on our first morning, got better on the second.

it was a boutique hotel, very lovely, clean and it has a soul, staff was friendly and helpfull, breakfast was fine and serving was very nice. we lost a pillow during the trip and we coldn't remember the place, it was our childrens pillow and we had alot of lovely memeories with it. I send e-mail all of the hotels we stayed if we left the pillow in their hotel. we were lucky we left it in hotel kastro guesthouse, they answered me immediately, and transferred it to my home adress to Turkey. we and also our friends enjoyed a lot in the hotel.

The building is a very rustic looking stone built property set within the old town/castle walls. The room itself was very spacious, well decorated and clean, with views of the castle.

It is a beautifuly renovated traditional house in the very hart of the castle of Ioannina. The rooms are very cozy and romantic. Breakfast is served with care and attention. It is really an exclusive hotel, perfectly located.

What a lovely way to start our holiday in Greece! The welcome was warm and friendly, the rooms cool and inviting, light with all the room we needed. The upstairs room with the window opening under a beautiful tree with the soft breeze and birds quietly chirping was wondeful considering we were in the heart of the action! The showers were wonderful, the breakfast including the scrumptious yogurt was delightful. All this with easy parking out the front of the hotel! We only had time to spend one night at the Kastro before moving on, if we had been able to we would have like to stay quite a few more nights, thank you for your hospitality!

Superior service. Proprietors are very knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to assist your travels. They helped me find a way to a remote area by arranging a ride and place to stay.

Katsro was a great find. Very clean and recently refurbished. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was adequate and the hosts very pleasant. The situation within the old city walls is very convenient. Thoroughly recommended.

we booked early but we did not get good room location.

The hotel is located within castle walls (very close to the entrance of Byzantine Museum), but also in short walking distance from the lakefront and the city centre - meaning you don't need a car in order to explore the city. Finding a parking place in front of the hotel was easy. Kastro is a small, family-run place, with very warm and friendly owners. The room was good size and had a fridge (which was very convenient for storing milk and snacks for kids). Breakfast was fabulous - in addition to the typical continental breakfast it included cakes, pies, sweets and other home-made treats. I would definitely recommend it for a short city break!
