People there are very attentive and helpful, and it is very well located

The staff was extra great, they allowed me to change 3 rooms during a week of stay. The rooms are really spatious and aesthetic. Breakfast is great.

All the rooms I visited had a stench of cigarette smoke (that's why I changed three times). Which is not a big deal if it doesn't bother you too much.

Extremely good localization, very nice and helpful workers. The hotel is located in the centre of the city but in the calm area of smaller streets. It is a very good solution for people wanting to see the city of Heraklion and staying in the centre of it.

This hotel is set in a side street only a few hundred metres from the centre of town and as such is a very convenient location indeed. The streets around became quite busy late at night and in the early hours (Friday night) but thankfully the hotel has excellent double glazing which blocked it completely when the balcony door was shut. The rooms are not palatially large but bright, modern and tastefully decorated. Staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast had a nice selection and not bad coffee to boot. We have stayed at two hotels close by, the Lena which is a little down at heel and the Atrion which is slightly more luxurious than here but price wise the Kastro is the best value for money and we would certainly recommend it.

Very friendly staff. We liked the decor very much. It is a pleasant hotel, not necessarily ideally placed in the town - (not much of a view) - but it didn't matter. The location is almost no distance from the sea, and also well placed in relation to shops and all that Heraklion has to offer. The breakfast was excellent. All in all, a most pleasant stay and we quite specifically stated that we would be very happy to return, which is the truth!

The staff were very friendly and helpful; we stayed there while the 48 hour strike was on. The reception guy actually phoned Knossos Palace to see if it was open for us; he also told us the private buses were running, otherwise we would have been stuck in Heraklion with nothing to do.

The publicity photos created a completely false impression; made the hotel look much better than it was. Room very small. We had to make an appointment to pass each other at the end of the beds. Bathroom very small, toilet hard to get to.

I booked this small hotel on a balance of good price and convenient location. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and the receptionist said she hoped we would like the room as we had been allocated their best suite. We were not disappointed as the room was excellent, as were the staff - just a pity we only stayed the one night. If needing to stay in Heraklion we would go back again (even if not so lucky to get the best suite).

Extremely small rooms, no schampoo, thin walls, I could hear the neighbours cough and hairdryer as if it was in my room. Really poor breakfast.

Not a lot, except the location. Better varity of breakfast than other hotels but not a marked improvement.

The reception when we arrived was very poor, a grumpy receptionist is not what you want. The room was not that clean and there was paint peeling off the wall (not a small amount around 20 inch square) when we went to use the internet which you pay for (not cheap) we turned to the breakfast area and saw that they leave the bread and eggs out overnight uncovered. We went for breakfast and you have to wait to get a table!! The room service( an outside takeaway) was ok but what made it even better was the fact that you paid for the call to get it. I have stayed at a lot of hotels for business and I really got the feeling that this was a hotel catered for this. If you are on a holiday a night will be enough at this hotel, go outside the city or somewhere else if you are going to visit the city for longer.

Great location, amazing staff! Overall very nice rooms, delicious big breakfest in the morning. Staff was very helpful and hotel was very close to water and main square. Would definiately recommend!
