Just a short walk from Heraklion center and the sandy beach, Atrion offers elegant accommodations with free Internet access. It has a restaurant and is a just few feet from Heraklion’s busy promenade....
Score from 570 reviews Very good
I felt very comfortable in one of the rooms that was renovated in early 2014. Very nicely made. Hot water in a second.
Parking costs 4 eur per day. It is ca. 150 m away from the hotel.
Just a few blocks from the waterfront and main pedestrian area with all it's amenities, the Kastro Hotel is funky, modern, comfortable and well appointed place to stay in Heraklion. Rooms are clean, decent sized and well appointed. Breakfast has a good selection including all the ingredients (and the recipe) for yummy Creten dakos - tomato, cheese and olive on a barley rusk. On the fifth floor there is a roof garden available for use by all.
Modern rooms,very clean,excellent and friendly staff,great location.
No negatives at all
The modern decor and facilities in the room and in the breakfast room.
The floor of the shower area was very slippery especially with soap on the feet.
- very nice rooms - everything is clean and the staff very friendly - good selection for breakfast - the roof-deck is amazing
quality of room and bed and location
lots of young students were also staying there and were noisy
New-ish hotel close to everything, quiet at night, wonderful breakfast, great staff.
We stayed in one of the odd-shaped rooms - the interior designer who did it failed their ergonomics class - only one chair, with metal legs that squeak horribly over the tile floor and blocks the way from one side of the bed to the other - pretentious English slogans written all over, including on the ridiculous glass bathroom door that does not close - and don't get me started on the bathroom layout - has to be seen to be believed. None the less, taken with a sense of humor, none of this detracted from a wonderful stay.
Very good rooms and bathrooms. Top floor terrace (view of sea) a welcome escape from the bustling town. .Good buffet breakfast. Good location for tourist sights and restaurants. Discounted car parking 50 metres away in City Center Parking. Friendly staff.
Due to one-way streets very difficult to access by car. Trick is to follow signs for City Center Parking. But best advice is NOT to have a car in Heraklion. Excellent and cheap bus service to Knossos and back to Archaeological Museum.
Good location - Close to the port and town- walking distance. We enjoyed the breafast. Would stay there again.
Clean and stylish accomodation in the center of the town. Breakfast was at good standard
Inconvinient to park the car
Great restaurant, Peskesi, just around the corner
Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. This hotel was an oasis in a pretty dilapidated city. Good value for money.
It was all good.
Lovely room, great breakfast and helpful staff. Also near to the main shopping streets. Will be going again next time I'm in Heraklion.
We liked the small and the neat hotel with an excellent rain shower. It also has an excellent location but a little hard to locate on the small streets.
Perfect location to see the city. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We were up on the top floor and our room opened onto the roof patio! We couldn't have chosen a better place. Breakfast was included and it was delicious! Plenty of options.
The only problem we had was that our bed was very hard, which made sleeping difficult but all of our beds in Crete have been hard so maybe that's how they like it.
We were walking distance to the port, restaurants, shops etc. The staff were very friendly and also knowledgeable. They informed us of where to get boat tickets, where the better restaurants were etc. The restaurants they recommended were superb. Thank you!
Room 53 with private covered balcony, next to a wonderfull garden terasse with see view.
A great hotel wether you're using it as an overnighter for the airport or exploring the town and area. Car parking can be a bit tricky but there is a car park just down the road. We are going back next year as a stopover. It's great value, don't hesitate.
Location Staff Breakfast! WiFi
Lower level floor had street noise (on a Saturday night)...
Nice, clean room. Friendly and helpfull staff. In walking distance to bus station and port. Very good reading lights.
1 chair for 2 people, 1 extra would have been nice.
Perfect combination of price, location, staff, comfort and cleanliness.
Very helpful Staff. Loved the roof terrace!
A bit noisy from the street (dogs!!!)
Staff, location, breakfast.
Couldn't figure out the air con
- Location is very good, provided you don't mind not having views of the sea. - The staff was very helpful and accomodating - After reading other reviews we were expecting an ugly decoration (we didn't really care) but after inspection we couldn't find anything to object: the rooms were well equipped, decorated with taste in a modern style. - They don't have their own car park but they have an arrangement with the City car park so that you pay maximum 6€ for every 24h. - If you are leaving so early in the morning that you can't make it for breakfast, they will arrange a complimentary breakfast (coffee/tea/milk and cake) for you.
- The walls are a bit thin and our neighbours for the first night came back from partying in the middle of the night making a lot of noise and waking up everyone on that floor. - No real orange juice for breakfast included in price of room, but instead an orange-flavoured artificial drink that doesn't taste very well. You can buy real orange juice for 3 euro a glass (a bit overpriced). - Other than that everything was good.
Great location, on quiet streets. Good sized room, clean & bright with a balcony. Friendly & helpful staff. AC. Roof top terrace. Flat screen TV. Fast free Wi-Fi.
The breakfast room is too small for the number of guests.
