Location, rooms, breakfast
The location is good, and the hotel is in the very authentic greek island style, you can see the volcano and sun set right in the hotel. The ladys work in reception and room service are really nice. They've booked a taxi for our arrive, and cleaned up the room just as we asked.
I have to talk about our arrive, it was at midnight about one o'clock, the reception is closed at 23:00 everyday. We've informed them out arrival time, and got theirs confirmation. But when we came, the hotel, the reception , all the doors were closed and nobody was there waiting for us. Wedidn't get any information when will they come to open the door and room for us. We've knocked the door and called them,no respond. And we just waited on the street in front of the gate of the hotel for 40 minutes so helpless until one staff of the hotel came and opened the door without any regret or just something about why so late. As I said that all the staff are nice only except one bearded man who works in the breakfast room. He is unfriendly never smile and rude. He always refuses our very normal requirement, his interface was always like his boss doesn't like it that way or just he don't want to do it. We stayed there for three nights and he ruined two beautiful breakfasts of us. It's hard to understand why such a beautiful hotel has such a rude breakfast service,is it a joke??? Does this bearded man have any prejudice to some customers? If you could bear the rude service you can just choose this hotel with perfect location and beautiful see view but very bad service.
The location is amazing!
There is so many steps! If you have a big luggage... :(
Great location...great caldera view from the rooms. Good value for money. everything walking distance bus stop,restaurants..etc .Staff at the desk was very helpful,i didn't have 3 point UK mobile charger, guy at the desk gave me his one and told me i can use it until my last day...so nice of him :) If I go to Santorini again I will stay there.
Wifi . Bathtub and basin was bit dirty.
The views from the terraces are stunning, and the hotel is close to the bus station, restaurants and sights in Fira. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
Be prepared to climb a lot of steps!
Breakfast and unique cave room.Location to the buses.
Difficulty for handicapped as the entrance is far from the taxi area.
The staff were very helpful & friendly we had a nice room with caldera view & balcony the location is excellent and you can have easy access to bus & taxi station near cafes restaurants bars & shops, we couldn't ask for more...
VERY POOR WIFI.

Breakfast Views Location
Bathroom- shower was too small to effectively utilize, water everywhere. Could have been more clean.
Beware offers from this hotel! It does not worth the price. We were given cave room #24: totally disappointing. It was very humid with a pink substance dripping from the walls. Everything inside smelled unpleasantly like mold. Bed sheets were not clean. Bathroom was infested by moth flies. Furniture was dated and in general moldy. Since it was an offer we were not expecting a room with view, but we couldn't even open the only window that was unreachable high on the wall. We almost spent the night on the terrace since the room was unhealthy. Breakfast was served at the table, with no choice at all: only one guy had to serve all the guests, and that was certainly inefficient. Staff ignored our complaints saying that the hotel was completely booked and they couldn't change our room. They neither offered monetary recompense or complimentary services (paying a taxi to the port, for example), but only a verbal apologize. We seriously considered to change hotel but they already had our money. If you choose this hotel be prepared to receive instructions even to use the boiler! As others said, it's “Like a youth hostel with a great view”. They're evidently in cost reduction... except for your check. Stay away if you don't want your Santorini experience to be ruined indelibly.
Well it is on the cliff ~
Staff was helpful but you felt they didn't like their jobs. They helped us carrying the luggage when we arrived but when we left they were not that helpful, there are lots of, really lots of stairs to climb up. Breakfast was ok but the servant again was very untempered. The location was ok but it might not be the best one on the cliff.
The location was convenient. The room was fairly spacious. The morning desk staff was pretty helpful. The view from the outside of the room was ok but not amazing. We did not have a view at all from inside the room.
The room and bathroom seemed dirty. There was absolutely no wifi in the room. The check in time was inconvenient and there wasn't a secure space to leave our luggage. We arrived at 6:00 AM and were informed that check in was not until 2:00 PM. We were able to leave our luggage in the small "lobby" and when we came back after the check in time, our luggage remained in the lobby. No one had moved it into the room.
It is truly a heaven on earth. The stuffs are very friendly and helpful. The location is great! The breakfast is outstanding and the view is heavenly! I cannot expect more!
What didn't we like is more the question. It's so much more cozy than the other hotels, the breakfast view couldn't get any better (best compared to the other hotels near)! Location is Perfect, Awesome Staff, real greeks!
The view was sublime, the terraces lush and beautiful, breakfast was scrumptious and the staff were lovely.I loved that there was barely usable wifi but my teenage son didn't. The location was incomparable. We had a twin share room which was small but immaculate. I will definitely stay here again.
Nothing to dislike, really!! It was my first time in Santorini and wanted to make my experience very memorable, so I booked my stay at the Kavalari!!! Great views and an amazing staff with knowledgable advice on the island and a fountain of information for recommending things to do and activities!! Well worth the money!! Remember, Santorini is a spectacular world-renowned location and you must optimize your experience by booking at the Kavalari!!
very cozy hotel, nice front desk, fine breakfast
no wifi no signal so depression
The views will affect your opinion on this hotel, stunning, good breakfast and staff
room very dated and very poor wifi, not a problem at all when you could crack a bottle of white open and soak the night up in the patio with a view. Amazing!
The location is marvelous in the middle of the market, the view is awesome, the food was delicious and the Cave Apartment was super WoW. Costis (main receptionist) was very gentle and helpful.
Location and price.
The steep stairs that climbing up and down.
The location was perfect, central. The cave room huge and fully equipped. As for the view...no comment! :) Very charming place, perfect staff: friendly, respectful & helpful.
Wifi a bit whimsical. Cleaning ladies a bit loud in the morning..but in a very good laughing mood :) Tough stairs..but you're in Santorini!!
Great view from Terraces. Superb, healthy breakfast. Great staff
Too many stairs. From the street we had 109 stairs to walk down (and up!!) from our room. When it rains the stairs are absolutely treacherous.
Amazing location on the cliff looking down on the Caldera. Great relaxing stay that starts with an awesome breakfast on the terrace. The staff made us feel so welcome which made for a great stay. Would come there again and highly recommend.
The WiFi signal was very weak and dropped out often.
Staff were very helpful especially the lady in reception and Yannis as well as the night porter. Superb location. You walk off the hectic main thoroughfare of Fira into a haven of tranquility with amazing views.
Unreliable Wifi but perhaps that shouldn't matter when one is on holidays.
I liked the location but there are others equally or better located. I also liked huge size if the room and kitchen/living area.
I didn't like the fact that the refrigerator was either dirty, rusty or otherwise not proper on the outside (the inside was ok). I also did not like the bathroom facilities - too outdated. I also did not like the fact that one had to sit outside to use the WiFi I also did not like the price relative to the value - way over priced!!
