A beautiful little Island just a short ferry trip from Athens with access to other Islands like Hydra.
Lot's of small shops, mini-marts, restaurants etc -plenty of choice to eat out.
Lovely walks - if you hire a car you can visit the main places in a day or two.

Poros is one of the most underrated islands of Greece, indeed. It's very small but beautiful, serene, calm , clean, quite and picturesque. Only 1hr 15minutes ferry travel from Piraeus port of Athens. There are lots of restaurants, caffe, supermarkets, shops. All types of food are available there including Greek food specially. People are welcoming, friendly and very generous. If needed laundry shops are there too. The clock tower is an added area where people can go see the entire island from bird's view. It's not so expensive like Mykonos and Santorini. But one can get the flavours of Santorini or Mykonos there. As a whole it's worth visiting Poros.

Calm, non touristy. Good food.
Calm, non touristy. Good food. Easy to walk or get a cab anywhere. We were off season (late September) and came by ferry for a few days break from Athens but have been before in high season in our yacht and it was good then too. Ate at Dimitris and Apagio Tavern, great meat and fish at the market, good coffee and lunch at clock cafe, good bakery and great ice cream and helpful pharmacy in the square by the meat and fish market.

Poros is an authentic, laidback Greek island, which also happens to be a major stop-off for yacht charters and flotillas. But, if you're not a yachtie, (we're not) they don't spoil the feel too much.
Only a few paces away from the yacht berths, you can find ouzeries where they still give you proper, free mezes with your drink, as you watch the old boys play backgammon and shoot the breeze. Or you can relax in more upmarket, restaurants and bars - but you've come to Greece, be more Greek! If you're in the square boasting Destino's Kafeneion, the locals' bar next door and Pavlou Shop which sells "plumbing fixtures, beach equipment and church supplies" you're in the right place.

Small but such a beautiful island!
Small but such a beautiful island! green and blue combination! Loved our walks down town at night with the great restaurants and the narrow streets up the hill to the tower Clock to watch the sunset.
We got there by car and took the ferry from Galatas (4-5 mins) to get across.
Favorite beach - "Love" Beach!!

Poros island is fabulous, the views are breathtaking and the geographical features are unique with many small bays and pine-trees that reach the coast. It is really near the Peloponnese peninsula and you can have small trips there e.g. going to Epidaurus or Methana. However, the island is small and the beaches are not sandy. It is worth visiting the capital and have lunch at its restaurants. The top restaurant, to my mind, is Poseidon.
It is easy to get around Poros mainly by taxi or by small boats.
Was not prepared as advertised. Booking said the pool would be open that weekend- the pool was not open, the hotel was a construction site with loud water blasting cleaning equipment, gardeners blowing - all loud, unkept, not the relaxing weekend we thought we had paid for. I never would have stayed if it said the pool was not open yet for the season! also, paid for a room with breakfast included — there was no breakfast and the staff was not bothered at all, didn’t care and basically told us go find our own food at the port. Just awful.
The room was perfectly clean, nicely designed, modern, spacious and had all the desired amenities, and the view from the balcony was superb. Our hostess, Amalia, was very friendly and helpful. She gave us suggestions for various different activities (beach, restaurants, bars, attractions, breakfast etc.) without us even asking for it. Just down the stairs, a 3-minute walk away is the centre of the island, where the promenade is. Very happy with our stay and I will definitely choose to stay there if I visit Poros again.
Everything was great. Apartment is specious and perfectly clean, beds are comfortable, swimming pool fabulous, restaurant is tasteful, hosts are willing to help. Parking space nearby is easy to find. A small suggestion, that the rooms are cleaned in a similar time every day, so guests could know when their apartment is available. In any case, we would definitely recommend Helen Hotel everyone who wants to explore beautiful island of Poros.
The staff were helpful and pleasant, the location was exceptional , we had a corner room at the front and the view was amazing. It was ideal for Kanali beach and a lovely walk into Poros port. We had breakfast over the road at their restaurant which had an excellent menu each morning. It was a very relaxing holiday and we'd recommend this hotel for a visit tp Poros.
The location is excellent at the top of the hill with beautiful view. The staff off the breakfast was really helpful and kind. The breakfast had a great variety for everyone's taste and you can enjoy it with the view of Poros next to the sea. The room was clean and tidy. Even the housekeeper is kind and she helped us with some tips where to go on the island .
Excellent location, very nice beach. Excellent helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfasts, good food. Two good pools. The view from the room is gorgeous. Our room had a terrace, very nice to sit there in the evening. It is very important that there was mosquito repellent in the room. You can also rent a car directly at the hotel at a good price.
We met with Fotini i who was really friendly. Fotini took us to Camara Suite, showed us around and recommended to us some nice restaurants and beaches to try which we did and we were really pleased with our choice. We highly recommend the Camara Suite on the island of Poros, modern accommodation with a traditional twist.
Very friendly staff, view from the location of the hotel was amazing, great breakfast and Restaurant of the hotel had very delicious meals!!
Rooms are big, clean and have everything you need inside!! Highly recommend it and definitely will go back with my family!!
Everything.
Great location Just 40 metres from the ferry.
20 metres from a discounted cafe for breakfast.
30 metres from taxi boats to the beaches and Galatas.
Clean room. Friendly staff. Great price.
We have booked for next year.
Poros is a great island.
The area is not far from Poros town, it is somehow between Poros and the beaches, so you can walk everywhere. There is a lovely tavern under the hotel. The room was big with a nice view. There is a kitchenette with the basics and a fridge which is nice.
It is in a great location. The hotel is very pleasant. The rooms are a little small, but nice and comfortable. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace and it is very good. I’ve stayed here twice and it will be my first choice on any future visits.
Awesome view in one of poros most famous bays (Neorio). The most relaxing bed I've slept into ever! Nice spacious room and balcony! There are quiet beach bars in walking distance from the room where you can enjoy clear waters and coctails!
The location of the room was perfect, exactly at the center of Poros. The room was very clean and quiet with high quality mattress. George and lianna gave us all the necessary informations about the island and they were very helpful.
A nice, comfortable apartment ideally located to explore the island. Poros Town, several beaches and walking trails are just a few minutes walking away. The balcony has an amazing view. The host is very helpful and friendly.
I loved the area where the hotel was. A short walk to Poros Town and port. Mrs Zoe, Mrs Katerina and Mr Kondtantinis were great hosts. They made me feel like home and fave me many useful tips for Poros.
Great location, in the heart of Poros, but far enough from noisy restaurants so that we could sleep in peace. The view was amazing, the apartment spotless and fully equipped.
It was our second time to stay at Dionysos Hotel and we chose it specifically, because we loved it the first time. Very safe and friendly and close to everything.
A cosy hotel near the beaches, really peaceful but at a walking distance from the city center. The staff is amazing, dear people that make you feel at home.
