When the Greek economy improves it would be worthwhile for the local authority to invest in better footpaths and lighting alongside the main road leading to Kefalos village!
Arriving a little before midnight during a lone Greek islands tour and following a delayed flight, I was very pleased and impressed by the very friendly and efficient welcome I received at this family run hotel, and things just got better following a pleasant nights sleep. On opening my curtains the next morning I was met by a breathtaking view of sparkling blue sea dotted with islands which left a big smile on my face and which will remain in my memory for a very long time! For the rest of my all too short stay, this small and picturesque hotel, sited right on the beach in a pretty bay, just continued to impress. A small but perfectly adequate pool was a few metres from my room and the beach and blue sea approximately thirty seconds further! I was staying on a bed and breakfast basis, but I was able to purchase a wide variety of what I can only describe as first class food and drink at very reasonable prices in the outdoor restaurant of the hotel, also set adjacent to the beach and also taking full advantage of the fantastic views. My single room was comfortable, quiet and well equipped. Local pursuits for the more energetic appear to include windsurfing and sailing, but I was looking for calm, quiet relaxation in pleasant surroundings and, happily, that is exactly what I got. I would fully recommend the Kordistos hotel to other, single travellers, couples or families of all ages. I could not fault this hotel and I look forward to returning again to explore the area further. I rate the hotel, owners, staff and situation as excellent, with a personal recommendation to the Chef! Wonderful food! Try it!
