Everything was perfect! September is also a great month to explore Koufonisi & the Small Cyclades! We booked last minute and stayed more than planned according to our island hopping schedule. We'll definitely be back..!
We like the island as such.Good breakfast even if the water to make tea was not warm enough. We were picked up and dropped and port which was great.
Food/drinks in the restaurant were a bit overpriced we believe.
It was not the tiniest shower-cabin I ever stood in, or the warm salt water that did a seven minutes trip before it came out of the tap, or the noisy road along our room, or the ever repeating Jimi Hendrix-music by the pool with the poorest sound quality I ever heard; no, it was the staff. The moment I saw the staff I felt something was going on. The evening before we left there was a dispute between two staff members. One voice I recognized as that of the luggage boy. I could hear two words frequently: 'work' and 'nothing'. He sounded desperate. Another staff member came and gave the boy a terrible beating. The boy cried of pain and despair. I thought he was going to kill him. It was a terrible experience to witness. The next morning we witnessed the beating of the girl who cleaned our room. I still can hear her screaming. We heard the man beat the poor girl very badly. The receptionist explained us later that it was a rehearsal, but on the boat to Naxos we sat next to the girl. She said her boss had beaten her. What happened to the boy we do not know. If you like horror it's a great hotel but if you want a peaceful and pleasant stay do not go to that place.
very noisy. most of the rooms are close to the street. breakfast terrible quality and dirty tables. smimming pool with only 20 beds. a lot of children, impossible to relax and even read a book in the pool area.
The hotel is just out of the small village, but down there you can see the sea. The island is gorgeous, and anyway worthwhile to travel there. But consider that the facilities described in the hotel web site are actually not there! Wi if connection is very poor (at the reception there is an advice that inform you!), very slow and not always available. The water from the tap and shower is ...salty! Be prepared to buy water bottle at least to brush your teeth. Avoid half board: the village is full of fantastic local taverna, where you can enjoy Greek food.
The location was good, but this is not difficult in such a small island as Koufonisia. The housekeeper was the most helpful and friendly person in the whole hotel.
The room was too small for three adults despite being advertised as a triklino, the fully stocked mini bar was an empty little fridge, and the shower with jacuzzi was a joke! Very impersonal and invisible management. Really disappointing experience considering the price they are charging.
Good location ( which is easy as the island is so small ! )
Personnel not nice and not helpful, especially the front desk Poor quality of the room: bad design, bathrooms not clean, bed very old Ugly view Breakfast lacking of food as not supplied enough - need to almost battle for one croissant Hotel seems to be very old Rooms on front of the swimming pool with no privacy
The location, the view, the room, the balcony, the warm welcome at the reception
The orange juice at the breakfast, the impossibility to get towels at the pool after 17:00, the contact with the staff at breakfast and pool bar
Only the pool area
It was exceptionally noisy, being one the ground floor ever,y noise from the room above could be heard in my room. The room was so small once a suitcase goes in there is absolutely no room left, very, very tight!
Koufonisi hotel resort it's too far from four stars .It's too expensive for 145 € per night The luck is not with us The ground floor room smell awful and it's too small! Decor inside its from '80. Flyers everywhere into the darkness room with one small door with view to the garden !Mini bar is empty refrigerator! Back yard wonderful view to the building material and bulldozer !Sea view ! Where is really the sea ? Room service not answering because there is no line on phone !Broken light in bath and the shower was too small so that you can't move inside ! I am really wondering from what material is made my bed strom I think from newspaper ! Free wifi but with no signal !Poor breakfast with fresh orange juice sugar contains ! Quiet rooms side by side tractor and bus race (carefully your kids) You need binoculars for extra size new generation tv tuned 4-5 not satellite programs ! Poor and fair receptionist answers thats for few days only and can't change with better room because it's full .I can see into their eyes that now you are here and your ship is gone and the other you just play and lost !They know that s the island in full season and you can't move from there. I hate my situation ! They destroyed our stay to the wonderful really Greek Koufonisi island !Good luck to you !!!
The hotel's website is very misleading. The reality has nothing to do with what you see on theur website. The rooms and bathrooms were in a very bad condition. Bad smell. Very expensive. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. Worst breakfast, with flies all over the food.
The staff at the pool bar and restaurant area was excellent and very helpfull. Perhaps the only good thing about this hotel
Hotel is totally incompatible for young group of friends and couples. Too much noise from the pool area and couples. Too much noise from the pool area 20-30 children swimming daily outside of my room . Three bed room tiny, a small sofa instaed of the third bed, could not physically suitable for a tall person. Reception staff unwilling to help even with minor tourist information not a word f
The staff in the poolbar & reception was very kind and helpful. Good that we good picked up from the boat. There is many other hotels at Koufonissi that has better standard and is clean.
We stayed at 2-star hotels (Santorini & Amorgos) that was much better than this - the rooms were old, we had problem with our AC - salt water in the shower - the sheets was not changed in 6 days - the breakfast was not good at all, not fresh and always finished, dry bread, no good quality on ham and cheese, no variety - the same things every day, watermelon was the only fruit, no good healthy options at all. Hard to find a nice and clean table to sit for breakfast. Only 20 sunbeds at the pool, needs more for 50 rooms - all textiles on chairs/sofas was dirty, the WiFi didn't work, only in the reception sometimes.
big and clean swimming pool
-salty water (bathroom) -poor breakfast and slow replacement of goods - staff not bothered to help or serve -simple furniture -definitely not value priced -overpriced for the actual facilities -not a 4 star hotel
very expencive prices for the extras(soft drinks, snacks etc) very poor room design for 4star hotel, bathroom facilities doesnt found even in 3star hotel.very poor customer service.
Nice view and location Large rooms Short distance to ammon beach, restaurants and boat trip
Salt in the water in the pool and shower Missing a small kitchen/appartment
good location, nice swimming pool
rooms were small, breakfast was terrible, serious cleanliness issues, broken tub in the bathroom.
This hotel is not what you think you would find in the small island Koufinisia. The pool is big, and the area around the pool is great to hang around in with sofas, a bar and sunchairs. The room are clean and very spacious.
Some days we did not have hot water in the shower.
* staff were very friendly & helpful * attentive housekeeper * quiet room as requested & quiet mode air-conditioning * inviting pool area with bar * Wi-Fi access
small TV in room (though not important)
clean and huge swimming pool nice area close to the sea and town center
not really friendly people at reception, not willing to help in general people employed at the island trying to rip you off the money
The grounds and the pool were very attractive.
The breakfast kitchen could be managed better - cooked food was barely luke-warm and dishes were not replenished quickly enough. Our bathroom needed upgrading, particularly the shower.
If you want to be near the village the hotel is in a great location. Public beach is also close and the nicer beaches are only av10-15 mins walk away. The hotel is probably not 4 stars but it's clean and comfortable and staff is friendly, especially restaurant staff. The pool is big and hås a bar.
The room tv is small and old but this is not a problem. You won't want to watch tv in Koufonisi.
The pool is wonderful and the sunbeds amazingly comfortable. Staff in the restaurant and poolside bar were very attentive. Our suites were very spacious and attractive.
Breakfasts were a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you had to stand and wait for fresh supplies even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. Water not hot enough to make tea. Some areas needed some attention like leaking shower trays, missing lights etc.
Nice pool. Get picked up from port.
This is most definitely not a 4 star resort. It is closer to one or two stars. Room was semi-clean but found previous guests hairs all over bathroom. Wifi is only available in small lobby area. Overall, everything seemed a bit aged. Breakfasts included cereal, bread, pre-made eggs etc but unfortunately the food was either old or had flies walking over it. We could only find one nice restaurant in the town, and ill-stocked shops. Nice beaches could not be found. We left a day early sacrificing one nights payment in order to go somewhere nice for our last days in Greece.
