Le Palace Hotel  

I travelled with my 90 year old (agile) mother. We had first floor rooms. The rooms were spacious, airy, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was superb (hot food available but we mainstreamed on delicious honey and bread). The staff were terrific - very welcoming and chatty. I actually had my wallet stolen in Thessaloniki (look out on the buses - it was very skillfully done) and the hotel took it personally, helped us to go to the police and rearranged our travel plans (as we could not now hire a car). I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it. (So would my mother!)

The hotel is in the city centre and you definitely hear traffic noise. I am sure the same would be true elsewhere. In May I was able to sleep with the (double glazed) window closed which cut out most of the noise. That would not be possible in July or August because of the heat.

The location couldn't be better: Close to shopping, landmarks, museums and entertainment district. Within a one minute walk to the harbourwalk. High-ceilings, adequate baths and mid-century aesthetics. The standard rooms rather small and tight but the executive rooms very roomy and bright. The furniture has seen better days. Great mattresses and pilows and the bedding linens crispy-white. Free and easy wi-fi access, great flat-screen TV. Cozy breakfast room with more than adequate selection of breakfast fare.

The hotel is situated at a very busy intersection and while the windows are double-glazed there is a lot of noise at all hours of the day and night. There is also inadequate window treatment in terms of draperies. Bring earplugs and a sleep mask if you need absolute darkness to sleep. Rooms could be vacuumed better but bathroom was spotless.

Excellen location in the very centre of the city. Hotel staff is polite, ready to help. Absolutely value for money.

Big rooms, location

Location to shopping district and city port of Salonika. Breakfast was good - except the orange juice was the powdered kind - not fresh.

Room that fronted on Tsimiski was noisy at all hours of the day and night - could not sleep. A/C noisy and did not keep the room cool. Room was very average and was not the cleanest -needs renovation. Bathroom needs updating as well.

The staff were great - friendly and helpful. They gave us lots of advice about the city. Also when we were having a complete nightmare with a local car hire company they were really helpful and spent a lot of time and effort helping sort things out.

Good central location, great helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, fabulous beds.

We requested changed rooms because even though I had requested a quiter back room it had virtually no natural light and was gloomy and depressing. Not great at all. The staff were great and we did change rooms the last night, but made me realize that the quality of rooms is extremely different even though the price is exactly the same. Also, bath curtains in both need to be changed!

η πολλή οικειότητα που είχε το προσωπικό μαζί μου απο το πρώτο λεπτό, λες και είμαστε φιλαράκια, εγώ προσωπικά δεν το θέλω.όταν μπαίνω στο ξενοδοχείο και απευθύνομαι στον πληθυντικό περιμένω να μου απαντάνε στον πληθυντικό.

η κεντρικη ρυθμιση του a/c δεν ειναι και οτι καλυτερο.
