no staff at reception; no internet as they promised; have to walk to Blue Sky for breakfast; the swimming pool is empty; the staff is unfriendly

Location as we were only staying overnight on the way to another island.

Firstly they tried to get us to pay for the room on our arrival when the hotel had already been charged to my credit card. Luckily I took a copy of my statement, as unusual for this to happen when using Booking.com as you usually pay on arrival. Secondly we paid for a triple room for 3 people for a bit of extra space but were allocated a small double room. Luckily there was only 2 of us travelling. The owner was nowhere to be found during our stay and when we complained to her daughter who was on reception at their other hotel pointing out we had paid for 3 people and had we booked a double it would have been cheaper she stated "not my problem" and returned to chatting to her friends on facebook. Had their actually been 3 of us travelling I have no idea what we would have done. Close to town and bus station so convenient particularly but you may not get what you've paid for.

Initial trouble finding the hotel, only to be redirected to another nearby hotel (same owners) to check in. Payment up front required and problems finding change led to a poor first impression. However, once checked in I found the room to be fine and the hotel well located on the edge of Thira town. Breakfast was included in the room rate and while basic was fine. Overall, considering the price, I have little to complain about and would consider staying here again.

It's situated in the central part of Tira close to a bus station. Comfortable and beautiful room (if the balkony door is closed in the night time)

The balkony looks at a street which is very noisy at night.

Staff not available round-the-clock and the cleaning did not take place until later in the day.

Hotel more then just good for average tourist!

The location.Was very near to the center of the Firon.

-Not at all Wi-Fi as they said.-The reception was open only during the morning.

The staff was wonderful and so helpful any time we had questions. Be warned that the greeks are very laid back, we had to call the number listed on the outside of the reception in order to get someone to check us in but they arrived in just 5 minutes and gave us our room. We had a cute little balcony and the room was very clean. It really was more like a hotel (they would clean the rooms every day) and give us fresh towels. There was a tv but we didn't use it and a little fridge which was nice for fruits in the morning.

The beds were a tad uncomfortable but I used the spare wool blankets and put them underneath my sheet and was comfortable for the rest of the week! My boyfriend didn't mind the firm beds though.

No pretence - location gives good integration with the Greek people (including staff who were particularly pleasant) and local trades people. We felt we had experienced Greece rather than our experience be limited to visiting a number of monuments and places of interest. The Lignos gives all the basic needs (including a reasonable continental breakfast) for a fantastic price through Booking.com (other booking agencies demand higher rates).

Absence of staff at hotel on arrival (due to a staffing emergency I understand). Disconcerting at the time, although understandable and a small glitch considering it being the out of season period. The total experience more than made up for it.

Close to center

Drab decor to me,though great for 1 night stay. Told rooms were full, as my male friend was not my boyfriend we had to share a double bed, yet all the rooms were empty, did not seem to bother that it was a issue for us.
