shower super small rude stuff, messy administration
- Location near the center of Fira - Good Wi-fi - Price very cheap As an advise , do not book this hotel unless you really do not care about the service and you are just searching for a cheap stay at a very good location near the center of FIRA.
We have stayed at this hotel for one night and it was one of the worst experiences we had even before we arrived to Santorini: We have booked the hotel and chose the possibility to pay later; the hotel issued the money transfer from our credit card (twice) even though we chose the option to pay later. We tried to contact them several times by phone and by email to discuss the refund and the airport pick up and no one answered us. it was very obvious for us that no one will show up to pick us from the airport and we were right. We finally arrived around 20:00 to the hotel and found a note on the reception door informing us about the room number and the keys’ location and then we had to search for the room for several minutes until we found it. We entered our room, it was smelly(humidity smell), there were no sheets on the pillows and we had to use our towels instead. In the morning at 8:30, the room service woman tried to enter our room without even knocking on the door (which was a very rude behavior). We were informed that the breakfast was served in another hotel (Blue sky).Surprisingly the breakfast was good and the staff were very welcoming there.
At this price, it is impossible to find a place in Santorini

I lived at Lignos Hotel from 12 Sept, 2014 to 14 Sept, 2014 with my husband, and I had breakfast at Blue Sky Hotel on 13 &14 Sept, 2014 with my husband. The breakfast time of Blue Sky Hotel was 8:00am to 10:00am. I wanted to re-take some ham to mix some bread at 9:50am on 14 Sept, 2014 that I was still hungry, and the hotel’s staff banned me to re-take it. I said to her that breakfast time was 8:00am to 10:00am, and the breakfast time hadn’t finished yet. And she picked up all the foods at 9:50am. I felt very disappointed. After that, I checked out, and consigned some luggage at Lignos Hotel. Around 4pm, I went to Lignos Hotel to take my luggage, and a door was knocked. Then, I went to Blue Sky Hotel to tell the receptionist that I wanted to take my luggage at Lignos Hotel. She said to me that it’s no problem, and there was two tourists at here. Suddenly, a dog ran to me, and bit me, and the hotel’s staff were laughing loudly.I felt very disappointed that they laughed on me at that moment. Lastly, I got a lesion due to their dog bit me.
Quality of bed and pillows. Transfers were meant to be included but we had to struggle to get them.
It is very near the center of Fira.
The bathroom is small, and it is totally wet after you have shower. Then it is not comfortable to go to the bathroom after that. The swimming pool.is not actually in the hotel. it is in another hotel Blue Sky hotel. It is not opened all day. If you want to go swimming at night, it is impossible. The breakfast also in Blue Sky hotel, not in Lignos

Very noisy. Could not sleep. No transport to the ferry next morning as promised. We had to pay 40 euro.
Location is good, near Fira centre. Both our rooms were spacious and had a balcony.
We arrived too early due to our flight and we had to wait. No problem there, but staff was far from nice. As described by other guests, nobody is at the reception and we had to go to Blu Star hotel first. They seemed very suprised that we had a 7 days booking and we were left wondering for near 2 hours if a room was indeed available. Finally they gave us a room with 3 single beds when we asked for double bed when making the reservation. By the second day, my girlfriend developed a very serious rash/allergy and we had to go to the hospital. At this point we didn't know what was causing it, so we had to avoid food, sun exposure, etc. Vacation started to get ruined. On Saturday morning we were informed that we had to change rooms within 2 hours. We were moved to other similar room, but with 2 single beds. My girlfriend rash got worst and we had to went to the hospital again. That night finally she caught a bedbug biting her and we understood what was going on. It started on one room and continued on the other. Fortunately I don't had any reaction to the bites. Rooms are indeed cleaned daily, but bedbugs are present. I had to rent a room in another hotel for a small fortune, for the remaining 2 nights, because Santorini had a 90% occupation rate at the time. I wouldn't say that there was a giant infestion, but we did find about 10 of them that night. My girlfriend literaly slept in the balcony the night before we moved to another hotel. We mentioned the bedbugs to the cleaning lady, but we didn't present a formal complaint to the hotel management, as we felt that they would be less than helpful. We might be wrong about that. I guess I will never know. But at this point we just wanted to spent the last days in peace and return home asap, as we couldn't enjoy the sun, the food, cruises or anything else due to doctors orders. In a place like Santorini, that's a nightmare.

The location was great just a short walk from the central square. The wifi dongle was just outside our bathroom window so the wifi was good although it did log you off every so often.
The staff were extremely unhelpful and very rude not only to the customers but to themselves, arguing and fighting in front of customers. There were never contactable by the phone number they have or the email address. There was never anyone present at the receptionist desk, you had to walk all the way to the sister hotel 300m away to have breakfast or to get anything done like request for towels as for the 5 days that we stayed there we did not have towels put on our bed for 3 out of those 5 nights, it was ridiculous. They never responded to my emails, prior to staying there I had to get booking.com to contact them in order to get a reply to my question and the breakfast even though included in the hotel room price was very poor and obsolete, consisting of sweating slices of warm cheese and spam, bread and terrible coffee with canned milk which consistently ran out, minimum seating and no air conditioning we only had breakfast at the sister hotel once, that was enough.

It's difficult to rate a hotel I didn't stay at. When we arrived at the hotel the reception was locked and luckily the lady working next door told us about the other hotel we needed to go to to check in. Let's call this hotel 2. So I walked up the road and when I was rudely greeted I was told I was not staying at this hotel but a "4star" hotel (hotel 3) that was "much better" for one night then to Lignos for the 2nd. As I booked Lignos 3 months ago and it was right on the square I asked to stay there but there was no budging so we were driven to a much further destination and after much confusion they finally found us a room. The room was nice however it was a 15 minute walk to "civilization".
Layer I tried to take a shower but the water was scolding. The manager reluctantly tried to sort it but then we end up with no running water. The next morning the lady picks us up to take us to not lignos but now the 4th hotel they own(that we know of) that was nice but also a trek to the main square (unlike Lignos). No one really seemed to know what was going on except that it became aparant that the staff at both places we stayed at were use to guests staying one night at one hotel before moving them on to the next. I think the owner might need to hire someone to do there scheduling of rooms because in my opinion for people that own atleast four hotels they seemed to have no idea what's going on.
The hotel has several different places of rooms for quests to stay. Some places are quite far away from the town.
We arrived at Lignos we had to wait for 45 minutes before anyone came to reception and were given the room we had booked, balcony aircon, tv etc.. We were then asked to leave that room as they given us the wrong room. We were then put in a room that just 10ft x 10ft, dirty no satellite tv, air con broke and a filthy bathroom. When I complained I was told we would get our room the next day. The following day I was told that there were still no rooms available. After several arguments they took us to another hotel who made us wait until 15.00hrs before giving us a room that could only be described as a dungeon. No windows no tv no wifi. After going back to Lignos and telling them that I still had not got the room I had paid for I was eventually given one,(minus the satellite tv) after going from one hotel backwards and forwards 4 times. We were not allowed breakfast at the new hotel and had to go to yet anther hotel for that. It comprised of bread honey ham cheese and coffee. Some continental breakfast. We asked for a transfer and how much it would cost the Hotel Lignos arraigned this and said it would cost 7 euros when we arrived at our destination the driver tried to charge us 20 euros. That about sums up the Lignos rip off. Pay extra stay somewhere else.
Location is good
The staff overbook this hotel on purpose. When I checked in, they sent me and 12 other guests to another hotel a lot further away for the first 2 nights of my booking, no where near as close as Lingos to town centre, and refused to give discount for the inconvenience. The lady at the other hotel says they do this ALL THROUGH PEAK SEASON!!! Also, the pictures show a pool, however the pool is located at the sister hotel, 200m down a steep hill! Requires a lot of effort when your trying to relax. The only good thing about this place was the location - if they have actually kept your booking. Also very bad with communication, answering the phone, you have to go to the sister hotel for checkin after 3ish, overall, a horrible unpleasant experience. This place should not be listed on bookings.com!!
Free shuttle service is convient as most accomadation in Santorini list they are on Main Street, Thira when they're really not. Hotel was nice and we had the luxury of two hotels pools. They carried our bags to our rooms which is always a plus and arranged a taxi back to the airport upon request.
Even though check in was at midday a shuttle bus was arranged to pick us up from the airport around 6am. So the owners where well aware of us coming yet no one was at reception to even let us leave our bags somewhere until 9am. There was a sign on the door redirecting us to another accomdation and then once we finally found that one we where directed by another sign to next door. And by sign I mean a peice of paper with writing on it. Our original booking was with Lignos but that was booked out when we got there. Mind you we booked and paid for this accomdation two months prior. Conviently the family owned 2 other hotels from what we put together so we moved to another hotel. However the facilities we originally paid for where not of the same. I would only recommend staying here if you have patience because you're going to need it. Oh and they forgot to mention the free wake up calls in their bio ... don't get to excited though I'm not sure about you but I don't like people opening my room door screaming check out when I'm not even meant to check out that day.

Our transfer did not pick us up, which meant we waited for an hour at 1am in the morning and then had to catch the local bus. Breakfast is only bread with cheese,ham and/or jam.
Fantastic location, just off the main square. Good value for money as they provide breakfast as well as transfers to the port and airport for free.
The staff are rude and unhelpful. They want a quick check in and check out. There is no one at the reception and check in must be done at their other hotel further down the street, where sometimes there isn't even someone at the reception. We had to ask for towels and for sheets that actually fit the bed, as the ones on the bed were too small - requiring us to go to the other hotel. They waste a lot of your time. They also insist that they can't take credit card, making various excuses as to why not. In the end I insisted and they let us pay by card.

Service was horrible. Arrived in afternoon and the hotel was closed with nobody inside. Called the number we had on our booking conformation list - reached the manager on 20th call and half an hour later she came. Aked for additional blanket two days in a row (there were three of us in the room and two blankets at the beginning). Breakfast was served in another hotel - Blue Sky, which was not that far from Lignos, but still uncomfortable.
