If you are coming for a short stay from anywhere seaside (Chania, Rethymno, Iraklion), I'd recommend planning the trip to maximize your cultural experience. On the way, there are tons of historical places to see. Arkadi monastery, Melidoni and Sfendoni caves is just to name a few. We stayed in Delina to go to see night sky on the top of the mountain where the Skinakas observatory is located (15 km from hotel). Keep in mind that the road to the top is, to say the least, NOT for novice drivers, if you are going by car. But the views from there: almost whole Crete, Iraklion at night and clear dark sky with milky way visible with a naked eye.AAnonymousFinland

The host, Popi, is incredibly caring and warm, always making sure you have plenty to eat, offering to make a coffee, and checking in about how the stay is going. Also, she is a skilled weaver, and the apartment is full to the brim with handmade things that make you feel the care put into this place. The view from the balcony is spectacular, taking in both the sea and the ridge of Psiloritis. The rooms are charming, comfortable, spatious and offer a beautiful view on the mountains. There is a restaurant with great local food in the hotel and one night they had live music. Our son was so impressed that he almost forgot to eat, and we loved the music as well. We liked the breakfast and the big nice room, and I adore the cosmetics made with honey and olive.

There is a small lake with fish and ducks and a small farm with peacocks and baby goats that our kid really enjoyed watching. The indoor pool was clean and relaxing. The room was quite spacious, and there was free parking right outside our door. The traditional cafe is a nice addition.
