Extremely friendly down to earth stuff, Dino and his wife are the most wonderful people!
Helpful friendly staff, nice room and view out of the window. location is OK, it's 5-7 min walk to the sea, 10 min to the bus stop.
A bit shabby bathroom, extremely bad wifi signal. Saw one cucaracha and many small ants around, mostly on the floor but i found some in my bed as well. The pillows were hard and not comfortable, caused me some pain in the neck.
We booked a family room with two bathrooms and large balcony on booking.com. When we arrived this room was not available so we were given a room with one bathroom and small balcony. We were dissappointed and asked for a refund for the difference in price for the rooms and were basically told no and if we didn't like it we could go somewhere else. Obviously really bad customer service. The room we ended up with was cheaper at the time of booking. We have contacterd booking.com on our return and they have arranged the refund but this should have been offered by the owner. The apartments are all different layouts so the picture and discription on booking.com may not be exactly the layout you get when you arrive. Some rooms have very large balconies and small inside sitting areas others are the opposite. Apart from the room issue, we enjoyed our stay, the complex was clean and the food in the bar area good and reasonably priced. The location was good.
The beds were very hard and uncomfortable.
It's a perfect hotel with a perfect location! 7 minutes from a sandy beach, 7-10 min from the center of Faliraki with all the shops and restaurants, 10 min from a local supermarket. At the same time it's located not on the main street so it's quiet. On the area of the hotel there's a restaurant and a shop which has quite large range of foodstuff and other things like sunscreen, sun umbrellas , etc. We travelled with our 10-month -old child and we had to spend in the area of the hotel and in the room a lot of time. We were satisfired with everything. The room was spacious and very nicely decorated and there is soundproofing!!! And the air-con was free of charge which is more an exception for Rhodos. The area is very green and beautiful. There was shade to walk with a stroller as we were putting the child to sleep. And there was shade next to the pool where the baby could play (as far as I could see it's not very frequent in the hotel areas of Rhodes). The family who runs the hotel is very-very hospitable and helpful. All requests (however stupid they were) were solved immediately and free of charge. Leaving Lyristis at the end of our stay we felt as we were leaving home. Especially I was impressed by cleaning which was very important for me because of the baby. The lady cleaned the room every day, she even washed the dishes I didn't have time to wash straight away.
wi-fi was mostly working well but there were a couple of days when it worked really badly There are mosquitos in the rooms at night so take a repellent. With anti-mosquito plug-in working all night they didn't bite us.
Location, excellent owners, very good room service, cleanliness, very friendly, would recommend
Amazing atmosphere, decent clean and comfy room. Got nice pool with chairs for free with pool bar, where they offer delicous greek dishes but also small snack trough the day and night, tasty coctails made by Savaas. Hotel is owned by friendly family, ready to help with any info needed. In the hotel is also food and souvenier shop where you can find anything needed at time. I would mostly recomend Greek night in hotel, where is plenty of greek dishes and you can eat as much as u wish for, i would recomend with tasty greek wine they offer. But most important is the atmosphere of whole place which is family owned. Would recomend for nice silent location but just 3 minutes walking u are on main street with shops, bars etc.
Large room, balcony, clean, friendly, swimming pool, bar, quiet, handy to town, parking on the street, a small shop on the premises and value for money. What is there not to like?!!
The wifi was slow when many people were using it. Late at night it worked fine. The bathroom shower curtain tended to hug one during a shower (OOH kinky!!).
Lovely Family pretty rooms good price for accomdation and dinner helpful supermarket available Hot/Cold water 24 hours Balcony in rooms
The rooms are very nice, that is if you get your room, see further down. The rooms are fresh and clean. The beds have good standard, which you find in hotels in cities normally. Probably, other rooms could be worse, for instance on the first floor. We stayed at the second floor. The balconies turn to some not built area where cicadas keep a loud concert, but the windows take the noise. Insects may fly in while it’s dark if the door to the balcony is open, even big unpleasant ones. The big road is close but it’s not heard into the room or at all. The staff is nice, especially Dino and Kiki, the old couple, that seems to want you well. There is a supermarket connected to the hotel, which is very good, and prices are not worse than other supermarkets.
When we arrived we were told that they didn’t have our reservation, and it was fully booked. They said that it hadn’t happen before. Though, we observed a family that seemed to be in the same situation, but it started some day earlier. Further on more people arrived and didn’t get their rooms. We got rooms across the street in another hotel, and so it was for the other people that had reservations but no room for them. We had a confirmation from booking.com, but where told that it's not that much worth without a confirmation from the hotel itself. In spite of the statement they tried to help us. We stayed only three of our five booked nights in the actual hotel. We used the pool in Lyristis, though. The room we finally got was a three bed room, instead of the double room we had booked. There is no reception, so we you should go to the bar, I suppose, which we did. Later we paid the bill in the supermarket. The problem with the reservation destroyed our stay, though not entirely. Who caused the problem, that we don’t know, but somehow it seems to be some administrative problems the hotel has.
Friendly and family oriented personel Nice swimming pool Very good location
WiFi did not work for most of the time Only typical heavy fast food type of food
A great and safe holiday place... Thankyou to Savos, Efy and Kikki and the rest of the family. We enjoyed ourselves, the kids had a great time. the Place was clean, The food was good, It's a family run business and they really go out of their way to help with any requests we had. evenings were filled with music, chats, drinks and we felt very welcomed at all times. Would definetely recommend this place. Facilities are simple yet adequate. Its in the quieter part of Farilaki!! We stayed 10 days. Thanks to Savos, Efy and family.. We will be back!!
The kitchenette was fairly useless.. Too small... Wi- fi was slow...
Great value for money, great friendly family run business, very relaxed atmosphere
Limited hot water
Dino, Kikki, Savvas and Evie were wonderful hosts! Extremely accommodating, friendly and supportive. We checked in quite late at night and were met with leftover bbq (on Wednesdays they host an all you can eat bbq near the pool) and a welcome drink of ouzo, this was the start of a wonderful trip and we became quite close to their family over the next 3 days. We're already planning on getting back there asap.
We stayed in Lyristis with our 8 month old baby. In general, we enjoyed the stay and we can recommend the hotel, although there are some defects worth mentioning. The family which operates the hotel is very very helpful and welcome. We enjoyed staying with them a lot. We wanted to baptise our son in Tzambika church. Dino, Kikie and Evi helped us A LOT with it. Dino even went with us to the church, and drove our friends there. For free. The location of the hotel is very nice. Near the centre, near the beach, but quiet. It is 800 meters from the beach, and the way to the beach is fine, you have to cross only one 2-stripe road with not so busy traffic. It is located not far from Faliraki center, but far away enough from discos and other noise. However, there was some building activity in the vacant area next to the hotel, so I assume there might be a new hotel being built. So beware: it might get noisy in the next couple of seasons. It is very nice that the hotel offers free wi-fi. The speed is very unstable (sometimes good, sometimes very bad), but we are pretty much satisfied with it, being able to upload photos for our relatives without problems. It is clean enough in the hotel and in the room. The maid collects garbage every day, and performs cleaning and changes towels & sheets every two days. Of course, it was not perfectly clean in the room, but it is mostly because of the sand - normal story for any sea-resort. It is convenient that Lyristis also holds a small super-market next to the hotel, so you always can buy fresh fruits even without going to a large super-market (which is located in 10 mins anyway).
Having said that the staff is very nice and helpful indeed, having enjoyed the stay, having no major problems during the stay, and assuming that probably other hotels and studios in Faliraki are not so good as Lyristis, I really don't understand how Lyristis got 9.0. I'm pretty sure that other 8.5+ hotels offered on booking.com in Faliraki are also overstated. 9.0+ means "absolutely perfect". Lyristis have a couple of important defects and pretty many small ones. I would give it 7, which is "very good" in my opinion. I stayed in several hotels rated 7 to 8 in Amsterdam, London and Helsinki, and they are far more comfortable. Now to the concrete defects. The shower is very uncomfortable. There is also some not very nice smell in the bathroom, probably because there is always some water on the floor. There are no nets on the balcony door, and it is a real problem. First, there are some mosquitos, even with fumigator. Not many, but still our baby got bitten in about 7 places. Second: we stayed on the ground floor and really felt uncomfortable that anyone and anything can get to our room in the night (once some giant insect got into our room, which was very annoying and a bit frightening: I just hate these guys). Alternatively we could close the balcony and switch on the air-conditioning, but why would we want to breath the dry AC air all the night when there is fresh 20 C degrees air outside? Btw, AC is usually paid (although we got it for free for some reason). Interestingly, we stayed in Lyristis in 2012 and there WERE nets at that time. Don't laugh, but that is one of the reasons why we chose the same hotel in 2014. Even more interestingly, the hotel keeper didn't know that they had nets previously. A lady which we got acquainted with during our stay, also stayed with a baby. She got absolutely upset from the hotel, in particular because there were a lot of cockroaches in her room, and the room was also much smaller than ours.
good staff, nice place, wonderful meal, tremendous owners, comfortable beds, Wednesdays BBQ - outstanding, Frappe with ice cream - delicious. .
bathroom too small for big size clients,
Very friendly accommodation showed by the whole family (from grandparents to grandchildren). Really value for money, our room was more than good enough for the price we paid. We were enough comforted from food servings and mini-market. Recommended for travelers who are in budget and want satisfaction.
