Mandilaria Studios

The proprietor, a local woman, is very nice though she speaks only Greek --- which was not a problem for me as I speak the language well enough. She collaborates with an Athens-based agent who speaks multiple languages, and her husband has very basic English skills. This is a local business which has grown organically over the years, with rooms being added as the business slowly grows. The pool is enjoyable. FYI: the smaller adjacent pool in the photos is not a hot tub... it's a kiddie pool. The location is quite convenient as a launch pad to reach several spots on the island. It is far from the beach, but this actually keeps the noise down (except for the neighborhood kids). I loved the garden in the front part of the hotel, which the proprietors maintain with (a few) local vegetables.

There was a lot of noise during the morning/afternoon because a main road runs near the hotel, and the neighborhood kids decided to hold races with their (quite loud) vespas/scooters/motorbikes (though this may not be a regular event). It was also a little hard to find the hotel because street names are very hard to see (if at all marked). Since maps, GPS, and automated directions are not much help in rural Greece, it would be helpful if the proprietor included in his booking.com listing some more precise directions on how to get there from Fira. In this case, the hotel's name was prominently placed on the side facing the main street (though the hotel itself is not on that street), so with some luck and careful observation, we found it.

Firstly I would have to say that our hosts were the loveliest of people. We arrived on a hot morning and our studio was still being cleaned. Our hosts poured us cold beers and we sat in the shade while the room was readied. There was a problem with our computer accessing the net....the manager lent us his laptop until the problem resolved. You would go a long way to find better managers/hosts. The studios are located about 2 km from Perissa beach and about a 1 km from the nearest beach. It really means you need a car, but for us that made our trip. We were able to explore parts of the island we would not have seen otherwise. It was easy to do things like nip up the road to Akroteri to eat breakfast in one of the delightful authentic tavernas there and likewise we could head off in the afternoons and explore the local produce, sights wines etc with ease. For that stuff the studios are excellently located. We usually ate lunch at the beach or on one of our excursions then journeyed the 80 metres each night to source a light evening meal from Carrefours supermarket then sit on the porch of our studio watching the sea in the distance and eating really healthy wholesome Greek style food. The split level studios are spotless, romantic and cosy, the aircon is brillliant in the plus 36 degree heat. The pool isn't as huge as it looks in the pics but it is wonderful, very clean and plenty of shade. We really enjoyed staying there!!

The shower is a bit small but that's about it...

Posto molto bello, struttura ottima in relazione al prezzo, la famiglia che gestisce è davvero gentile e ospitale. Ci tornerei altre 100 volte!!

la pulizia e la gentilezza dei proprietari,la posizione decentrata ma con motorino noleggiato in 3 minuti sei al mare o 20 a piedi,la zone piscina tranquilla e pulita.

Persone gentilissime e pulizia ottima!anche la posizione perfetta a 5 min dalla spiaggia di perissa...la migliore sull'isola!piscina sempre ben pulita.

Although the family who owned this Mandilaria Studios don't speak English very well, they were very nice and helpful. I really like the swimming pool, the room is very clean and nice. There is a big supermarket right next to the studio.

The location is basically in the middle of nowhere, not close to any major tourist area. The closest tourist spot is Perissa (at least half an hour by walking and 5 minute by bus that costs 1.6 euro). There's a mini kitchen in the room. All cooking and eating utensils and fridge are provided, but no stove.

Destacaría sobre todo la amabilidad de los dueños que en todo momento se preocupan de que la estancia sea lo más comoda posible y de facilitarte todo lo que puedas necesitar. Por otro lado los estudios e instalaciones, sin ningún tipo de lujo, pero con todas las comodidades, se encuentran en buenas condiciones y muy limpio. Sin duda una relación calidad-precio inmejorable. Cercano además a muchos puntos de interés de la isla.

The owners were extremely nice, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The location is super convenient, and the pool area is great (even though you'll probably just go down to the beach most of the time instead).

Value for money!!! Very clean, quiet and sooo close to Carrefour supermarket and the bus station!!! The owners are also very kind and friendly.

A bit far away from the beach though (15-20' walk from Perivolos) but you can't have everything!

Very clean spacious rooms, large swimming pool, 10 minutes on foot to perissa beach. The lady that runs the hotel is very friendly and helpfull. Bus stop and supermarket nearby.

Nothing to complain about.

Excelent value per money. Friendly owners.
