Centrally located in Syntagma Square in Athens, the Amalia Hotel is right across from the National Gardens. It features comfortable rooms with satellite and pay-per-view TV, and Wi-Fi internet access....

Comfy rooms & baths Clean Great location Friendly staff
We only spent one night at this hotel so it was just what we needed. We also got the A/C Option which worked great as the room was cool. The hotel is about 15minutes walk away from the main area with restaurants and tourist shops. The hotel owner was very helpful too! Would stay at this hotel again if i was visiting athens again.
To find the location for the first time on foot may be a bit difficult and if youre carrying luggages might be a bit tiring. I suggest stopping at Syntagma Square by metro/bus and taking a taxi to the hotel. Cost us only 4Euros!
WiFi worked brilliantly. Air con is an optional extra but is seriously worth the money. We stayed in July and it was well needed! Hotel room was beautifully clean and a good size. En suite and the balcony were very nice. Location was good for us - a tube journey away from most attractions but it was nice to be away from the hustle of the city at night. Hotel is tucked away in a nice quiet corner. Staff spoke fluent English and were very helpful and friendly!
A staff was friendly and kind. He provided us with good advice on a local restaurant or transport etc. Well worth the price
It was not so easy to find out the location. Facilities(especially shower room) were not excellent, but not a big problem. Thinking of the price, I cannot complain. It was a bit dissapointing that use of air conditioner was charged.
everything: the location, the cleanliness, the owners
WiFi on the 3rd floor has a week signal, no air-conditioning, only a fan
Proximity to train station & Acropolis, nice new bathroom (albeit very small), helpful and friendly staff, felt safe staying there.
Room and bathroom very small but really who spends most of their time in a room when travelling to Athens?!Having to pay for aircon a bummer but well worth it!
Well located close to main sites to visit Easy to access from port and airport Friendly welcome and advices
Bad smell in one of the room (air conditioning?)
Well cleaned facility, very friendly and helpful staff, close to a metro stop and to a super-market.
The rooms were a bit small and cramped.
The staff at the Marble House we very helpful and the hotel a super location for exploring Athens. It is great value for money and I would highly recommend it to other travellers.
Proximity of the hotel to the Acropolis for a great value. The woman at the desk was very helpful in giving us directions to everything.
The hotel has free parking but is located at the end of a one-lane, deadend road. You have to park on the sidewalk and then back out 150 meters between other cars on the street. Don't forget to swing your mirrors in and have someone guide you out. There was a TV but there were no English channels. No AC but a ceiling fan. We were there when the Electric Utility went on strike so everything was off from midnight on. Not the hotels fault but made the one night uncomfortable.
the host is nice and informative
the room was too small
everything especially option to be green, ie without AC and open windows to night air christos recommended an excellent little restuarant right around corner where i ate evry day.
i liked everything
Walking distance to main attractions and food.
Had to pay extra for air conditioning and had to carry luggage up stairs as there was no elevator.
Marble Hotel is well located near the Acropole and Plaka but far enough to get out of the touristic environment. And with marble on the walls and floor!! We could stay at three in a room for two with an extra bed for our daughter and a private bathroom. It was small but good enough for a short stay A nice hostess and a good value for money.Thank
The result of the Mondial match!!
Nicely renovated room with large balcony Fast wifi 15-20min walk to acropolis Friendly staff Very good value for money
Location is good. Close to Acropolis.
Poor accommodation. Room was small and the air conditioning was not working. Just a ceiling fan. Very hot. Would not recommend.
The hotel is a very pleasant place to stay and I hope to stay there again when in Athens! The location was brilliant! My room was spacious, well-equipped and clean. Clean towels provided every day. I always got good advice and useful tips at the front desk. The hotel is definitely well managed.
the staff was helpful and courteous. The use of marble was attractive, and clean. the plants at the entrance were lovely and nicely arranged. The patio area in the room was nice. the glass door and window that opened was great for letting in light and air. The bed was comfortable, the dresser and closet were adequate
the shower area wasn't user friendly. It was impossible to keep the floor outside the shower from getting wet and the slanted ceiling was too short for the average man. the bathroom door wall didn't go all the way to the top, which lessened privacy. there were no bath cloths for bathing (only towels and hand towels.
The Marble House is an easy walk from the central tourist area of Athens, although the times provided on the booking.com webpage are optimistic. The restaurant around the corner had terrific food at a great price. During our first visit, Christos spent time explaining where we were on the map, where best to avoid because of crime, and where we might find a location to watch the World Cup. He was both friendly and sincere. The Marble House is at the end of a cul-de-sac, making it calm and quiet relative to much of the neighborhood.
The downside of being at the end of a cul-de-sac is that there is no view whatsoever. The balconies just look down on the small street outside. The photographs on the booking.com site make the hotel look 'fancier' than it is: the Marble House provides simple yet comfortable lodging for visitors on a budget who do not require frills (as was the case with us). It is also a lot darker than the images imply. During our second stay at Marble House, Christos was nearly the opposite as the first, acting both rude and impatient. It was startling and unexpected. Based on the other reviews I would guess that he was having a bad day.
the location, very clean and recently refurnished
the air conditioning should have been including in all rooms
It was close to the Acropolis.
We just wanted a simple night in Athens to visit the Acropolis. I am glad we were only there for one night, otherwise I would have been very disappointed. The receptionist was not nice or accommodating at all. We thought we booked a double room with a balcony and in the end we got a room with two small beds and no balcony. It would have been okay, but the receptionist was very as a matter of fact about it. The least she could have done was to be polite and I would have accepted it. There are other less expensive places in Athens. I would not recommend this one unless you are not a couple, can't find a cheaper place with similar location, are only spending the night there, and don't care about Greek hospitality (as I have seen everywhere else I have been over the last two months in this beautiful country.)
The family who runs this lovely little hotel is just wonderful! Very helpful. This place was so clean I could barely believe it, truly spotless. It was in the perfect location to walk to anywhere we liked and we loved the surrounding neighborhood!
Location and quiet pretty entrance
Very close to the metro and the ancient sites. Quiet retreat in the middle of a large noisy city.
Small room, small shower without curtain or hook for hand held shower head.
