The breakfast was very bad.
the short guy with glasses at reception was very rude.
I stayed at Acropolis View Hotel last year(but it was full up)but I preferred the location, staff,&hotel there
Good location and value for money.
I have a dust allergy which occurred during our stay, that probably means the place is not very clean. Also, the breakfast was not great.
There was a book corner.
Area around the hotel seemed dangerous at night, there was a lot of drunk men on the street.
Nice room, helpful friendly staff, good value, good breakfast, fairly central location.
Location - near Omonia Square, which has a bad reputation, according to our guide books. And there are a lot of badly lit, rundown back streets near the hotel. Having said that, we didn't encounter any trouble or problems, and the people in the neighbourhood were pleasant and friendly; so we decided Omonia's bad reputation was undeserved. 2 small points - our room had a balcony, but no chairs, so you couldn't sit outside if you wanted to; and it didn't have a hairdryer, there was supposed to be one (probably they would have loaned us one if we'd asked at reception.)
Well, yes the neighborhood is not pretty but I was prepared after reading the comments before booking. So I think the location is good for travellers but special. The hotel itself was great and safe, nice reception staff, breakfast ok, room comfy.
WLAN didn't work except at the lobby area for the whole 4 days of my staying.
Clean comfortable convenient good value
Great value for money. Really comfy huge double bed, spacious room and bathroom. Nice and clean and the room was serviced every day. Antonis on the front desk was really friendly and helpful. Good location 5 mins walk from Omonia metro station, and just round the corner from the bus 051 to KTEL Bus Terminal A for long distance buses to other parts of Greece.
The neighbourhood has definitely seen better days; its pretty run down and dirty and there are some dodgy people around. But Hotel Marina is a safe haven amidst it all; we just didn't stay out late.
Recent renovations have brightened the hotel. Breakfast improved by addition of hot choice of scrambled egg and sausage. Central location good for onward travel
It Was a great place to stay at the room was always clean good staff members and excellent service
The location of the hotel and wifi availability were very good.
The room was very gloomy and dark, despite the fact that I had told them that I felt uncomfortable in such rooms.
Location is close to the subway station. Bathrooms are functional and clean.Rooms are cleaned everyday and staff ( only one - we interacted at the reception ) was kind & let us leave our bags at the hotel until 9pm after checkout at 1pm ( one haour extra granted without a problem ! )
Wifi was not working in the room. we got two single beds, instead of a double bed - very uncomfortable. The room size is small - not as described on booking.com & definitely not 22 Sq. mtrs to the double room we were given !!!
Close to Omonia Squate & good connections. It was pretty quiet on the 5th floor Breakfast was good I think
Wifi is only in lobby near reception
Antoni was very helpful and made our trip pleasant breakfast was what you would expect for a continental .the hotel could improve on the coffee .the room was clean all though dated and bed was a little un comfortable
the man behind the reception desk was very helpful big thank you too Antonio a shining example of what concierge should be
Staff are helpful. Facility is good for the money.
The neighborhood is not that good.
The staff is attentive and polite. The hotel is in the center and close to a metro station.
Friendly and professional personal, hotel was clean and nice. Good location- about 10-15 minutes of walk from center, 5 minutes to metro station.
Bad and dirty neighbourhood, "best before" of this part of city is gone. Poor wifi connection, OK only in public areas on 0-1 floors. Delays with breakfast serving when hotel was fully booked.
Tiny rooms and tiny shower with water running everywhere.
Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Value for money and ok breakfast.
The staff was talking loud during the siesta hour between 13:00 and 15:00 and the noise from the vacuum was very annoying. We also had free wifi but it wasn't working all of the time. The location is central and convinient but you have to be careful because its near omonoia square which is not a very safe area.
Perfect location into the heart of Athens with no noise at all and very clean hotel!
quite good localization - 10 min walking to center
breakfast non eatable!
- buffet breakfast was good - wifi - value for money - clean
- location , I had a hard time looking for it and the area not safe if your walking alone after a night out
We chose this hotel on traveller recommendations. The rooms are comfortable if a bit tired, but staff friendly and helpful, all the services worked and breakfasts were absolutely fine. Although not central, it's close to Omonia Metro. We had no problem walking to Central Market, National Museum, and even the Plaka, Agora and Lykavittos Hill (as long as you're reasonably fit and have some water, all within 30 minutes).
Not the best neighbourhood, but safe enough and feels like you're in the real Athens. Local shops and eateries great for those on a budget (e.g. giros for 1.80 and a loaf of bread for 50c). The elderly hotel elevator could do with replacing (max 3 people and broke down when we were there).
location was close to the metro kitchen open until 11:30 pm with decent food.
wifi was non-existent
