Medieval CastleMain Street, 82102 Mestá (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 41 reviews“Deffinitely the best choice in Chios. Amazing historical location, great design, clean comfortable rooms, very friendly caring staff. Highly recommended!”
Yeşim,
İstanbul
A hotel complex that combines all modern facilities with the experience of living in a 14th century village, the staff can organize excursions and short trips around or outside Chios. Medieval Castle is a complex consisting of accommodations scattered within Mesta, a medieval village on the island of Chios. Your stay will certainly be a memorable experience. The village is lively and has been continually inhabited since the Middle Ages. Mesta, where the medieval castle accommodations are, is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in the south of Chios, where mastiha trees grow. The village was established by the merging of smaller Byzantine settlements (14 to 15th centuries ) during the period when the Genoese dominated Chios. Hotel Rooms: 20

Hotel was the historical and traditional, like other buildings in this village,Mesta. The room was confortable and so cute. Internet, shower, TV, kitchen, refrigerator, air conditioner, bed sheets, everything was new and cleanliness. I was able to spend a very relaxing time. The staff helped me a lot!I don't know how to do sightseeing, and I asked her, so she told me special program. So I was able to go many Xios's area--Cave, beaces, other towns, church. She was hearing patiently to my poor English.I realy thank to her. Please visit the dream-like world, Mesta★ Nothing.

Quite an experience in a very positive sense! Very friendly and helpful reception. They all speak English very well. The Medieval Castle Hotel is a bit more expensive than the price I usually pay but it really was worth the price... The rooms of the "hotel" are divided all over the extraordinary village of Mesta and are located in completely renovated houses. All rooms - which are a bit like caves but then rather luxurious ones - are "suites" with a bedroom division with seating and a pc with free internet and a "kitchen" part with fridge and coffee and tea making facilities, plus a small terrace where you can look at the stars. There is airco in every room. For breakfast you need to go to the "Medieval Castle Café" somewhere else in the village but since the village is rather small you never have to go far. It is very good as well. It is a breakfast buffet and what I especially liked about it was the fresh orange juice. Remark: don't forget a flashlight when you leave in the evening because it can be very dark in the tiny streets and alleys of Mesta... Mesta is one of the highlights of Chios, don't miss it!

Mary , the receptionist did an outstanding job to make yourself comfertable and she assisted in other service like arrangement of a rental car. She advises you where to go and what is nice and good to see. Very friendly. The rooms are very nice and have the luxury of satellite tv and computer with access to the internet free of charge. Different rooms are available with airconditioning. Luxery rooms. The breakfast was offered in the Cafe and run by another family. It is quite disappointed and a real pity that fresh fruit like peaches, nectarines, fresh sqeezed orange juice and even fresh bread was not offered! The whole week the same breakfast! Even a machine was there to make fresh orangejuice, not been used! Not all rooms have windows. Check this if you want windows.

The hotel in the medieval castle provides a unique experience in a "fairy tale" environment. The hotel personnel is very helpful. Do not attempt to reach the hotel reception by car since it is in a very narrow medieval street. When arriving, leave your car in the village center, walk to the reception, and they will help you find out the special parking area.

This little hotel was wonderful. The best part of the stay was how very friendly and helpful our staff was. I will stay there again on my next trip to Chios. The breakfast was a little disapointing for a boutique hotel.

The reception and the hospitality that we received from the hotel staff (Mary) was the only thing that partially redeemed our experience of staying there. In my memory Mary is the hardest working and most pleasant staff I have come across in all my years of travel. Plus the hotel is in a charming location and could have much potential. Even though the hotel, or I should say "a series of charming villas" seem to be fairly new, the 2 suites that we stayed in were so miserably damp that we felt the wet sheets against us all night. As a result the room also smelled of mildew and we had to open the door in the freezing night of December just to let some air circulation in. By morning, the clothes from the previous night that we had hung up were wet as well. I'm not sure if this was a problem with the room insulation, ventilation, the nature of being within castle walls, or merely a " time of the year" problem. Whatever it was we decided we would never risk going back, and it certainly was not worth the money we payed in the off season.

ligging midden in historisch Mesta is perfect.

Le personnel est très acceuillant, prêt à répondre à nos questions, nous avons adoré cet endroit.( We feel like we live in another century, the staff are very helpful, and my room had been renovated with a good taste.
