Lovely location, great spot for relaxing, sunbathing on the terrace and swimming in the beautiful, clear sea. Good size room with fantastic balcony with awesome view across the harbour. It was very quiet when we travelled, with only a few other families staying at the hotel. In the height of summer it is probably a much busier and buzzier place. Overall we really enjoyed our short stay. Our room needed a bit of a spring clean, with a lot of marks on the walls and doorframes. Our shower did not seal and consequently flooded the floor. The bar/terrace area was a great spot to relax, but prices for food and drink were quite a bit higher than elsewhere on the island.

Extremely well placed, rooms refurbished (but unfortunately not the public areas).. Private space with sunbeds for customers only. Staff was very polite but a few number of persons for this hotel. Public areas need renovation.

Megisti, is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. This hotel doesnt need anything more and has all teh amenities and services you would want in a hotel. The hotel could have been a little cleaner and there was no hot water or water pressure,

This is an excellent hotel situated in an idyllic setting. It is one of the nicest and quietest places I have been to. All rooms have either superb balcony views of the town or at least a view of the sea-which is what I was given. Rooms are very comfortable. Staff were friendly. There was a major water problem in the town the morning I left and no water or showering facilities were available-this was a little inconvenient given the temperatures but out of the hotel's control. The temperature of over 40 degrees with humidity on 2 days that I was there made things quite uncomfortable outside. I am told this is normal for the months of July and August. Would recommend visiting in September as the locals said this was the best time-also cheaper. Could do with more staff for reception area as this was often unmanned but this is really minor. Passport control is lengthy and cumbersome if coming from Turkey. Suggest flying in from another Greek island eg Rhodos to avoid this.

To say this is the location to die for is actually an understatement. The most beautiful location we have ever stayed in. Also food / alcohol bizarrely well priced given it's location

The staff were really helpful polite and eager to assist, breakfast was great and the location was amazing. Make sure you have a 3,30pm check out if you are flying out, it is a long time between the 12 noon check out and the bus leaving for the airport at 4pm. I was able to stay in my room until 2pm even though I forgot to ask for a late check out. I would recommend d this hotel to anyone and it had the best bed of the 14 hotels I have stayed in on my trip so far.

This is a very funny location. The small town of Kastelorizo contains of nothing more than 300 locals and a string of a few hundred houses, hotels, pensions, restaurants, cafes, and shops, spread around the little horse shoe shaped harbor of the small island, just across the Turkish shoreline of Kas. The ferry lands on the one end of the harbor and the Megisti hotel is on the opposite end, but don't despair: the whole harbor is just a 500 meter walk. It's a typical Greek harbor style village, quiet, friendly, nice. And so is the Megisti hotel. In fact, it's the only 'normal' hotel, because most of the other "hotels" are accommodations like pensions or privately rent apartments or rooms. The hotel has decent facilities, reasonable rooms, and a kind staff. Nothing too fancy or special. We enjoyed the sun bed terrace and the swimming access to the harbor and sea, and wandered at least 20 times up and down the cosy boulevard. The island also serves very well as a stepping stone from or to Turkey (by ferry, 20 Euros) and Rhodos (by airplane, 30 Euros). The town used to be much larger, decades ago (thousands of inhabitants and houses), but crisis, wars, and the very confined enclosure of the island made many unfortunate islander move to more promising and adventurous destinations. Why this story ? Because 90 percent of the tourists who visit this island, are these emigrants, together with their second or third generation off-spring, who regularly pay a short or longer visit to their 'roots'. The majority comes from Australia, but there are also many ties with Italy. So the hotels, pensions, streets, cafes, and restaurants are infested with repeatedly greeting, hugging, and kissing 'home-comers', who talk about the holidays they've spend across Europe, who they've met already, who they've missed, how they're doing, who got married, who died, etc. etc. And everyone feels as if they own the place or at least belong here with special privileges. It's funny at first, but gets a bit nauseating after a while. And as it is with all Greek hotels: power, water, or wifi is down at a regular basis. Don't complain, it's a tradition...
